Pros

Great for triggering any action you want really and so useful if you are sending out large volumes of emails every month. Integration options are great too.
Its almost intelligent interaction with prospects allows our team great confidence in engaging and in capturing quality leads.
Marketo customer support team is very responsive and always available to help, this is something I like the most. Marketo's simple and easy user interface is amazing and very easy to use.

Pros

The initial sales team were great and the trial gives you a good insight as to what you can experience if you have a good knowledge of IT.
The sales rep smooth-talked me and begged me to sign the contract from my phone while I was on vacation so he could win a contest and got me. Got me good with his lies.
I really like the ease of use of the software and the ability to see in-depth info on each visitors path to your site, what they checked out, and who it might be from that company.

Cons

Here are a few cons which shouldn’t be ignored. Reporting of Analytics of Marketo is very bad and in addiction smart list designs are not flexible and it is very difficult to design them.
With customization that is available, it is possible to get a bit lost in the hugeness that is Marketo. Lastly, there are no customizable reporting options which can make things hard.
Not much return on investment here; very basic functionality, and problems with our website getting clocked as spam form our target cusotmers.

Cons

This is a very bad company that pretends to customize the experience and then forces you into a standard tool.
I am sorry if I need a second job to learn how to use your sales tool- IT IS INEFFECTIVE! needless to say, this is a scam and not a tool you should ever waste your money on.
And we missed the contract cut off by 20 days and were stuck paying a very expensive number for the next 3 years when we only wanted to roll over 12 months per time.

Awesome. Great for lead nurture, lead scoring, email, forms, and landing pages.

Pros

It's very powerful. They've thought through so many use cases and because of the way it's built to sky really is the limit. If you can think of a campaign you can likely build it in Marketo.

Cons

The UI is a bit clunky and dated. The new Sky interface looks nice, but the tree structure can still make ti feel a bit messy.

Pros

I love that Marketo allows me to assign leads equally and automatically to my team members. It can be hard to keep track of who has received leads and who has not throughout the day and Marketo makes sure that I don't have to worry about it!

Cons

I dislike that Marketo can move a lead in and out of multiple peoples names based on if there is an existing lead in Salesforce and what status that lead is in. It can be confusing to determine who that lead actually belongs to.

Great at email lead nurturing, lead scoring, and reporting. The Marketo community is great. Marketo Certification will go a long way.

Cons

Customer support is not great. If you get the basic packge, it only offers online support via chat or email. You are paying all of this money to wait on their time to fix an problem you need fixed ASAP

This Marketing Automation Tool Does the job!

Marketo has definitely been a great value add to our company. The Lead Nurturing and Lead Scoring are definitely its strong suites. Its integration with Salesforce is also very robust. The Sales reps enjoy the Hot Lead functionality that it provides. It handles the volumes pretty well. We have Marketo forms on our website and they integrate into Marketo. We really get good quality leads back into Salesforce which is then taken over by our Sales teams to follow up. Their customer service is good and reliable.

Marketo has been great tool for us for email and online marketing. It really does the lead generation and lead management part well. We have been very impressed by its functionalities. It is specially very good and adaptive even if you have huge volumes of data. We were in this situation (fortunately) where we had tons of leads to be worked and Marketo really helped us sending the right type of deals over to Sales! We also had moved over from Pardot to use Marketo and it turned out to be a good decision.

Pros

Lead Management- Marekto has helped us improve our lead management with better lead scoring parameters and tracking the movement of each lead help us drive sales. Marketing campaigns- We are able to successfully deliver our email marketing campaigns and achieve high results, With Marketo we justify the ROI on marketing spend. The email templates, the email scheduler, analytics, different dashboards are great feature and can boost your productivity.

Cons

This is the best platform, having said that it needs training to use more efficiently. So a training is required for new user to make optimal use of it.

Marketo was the clear winner when first looking at marketing automation solutions. The robust software certainly met our needs at the time, but also offered features we were very new too. This allowed us to evolve our marketing processes and streamline certain aspects of it. Marketo will take a few months to learn the basics, and even then you will find yourself learning new things even years later. With the valuable resources Marketo offers, they set you up for success.

Pros

- Customize-able. You can certainly find a way to accomplish any marketing task. - The Community is a tremendous resource to learn and Certification is available to validate your proficiency.

Cons

- Support can take a few days to resolve issues. - Navigation and accessibility can be a bit earlier, (ex. cannot run “Lead Actions” from smart campaign’s results tab, program’s member's tab, or Lead Details page)

Pros

I loved how granular I could dig into lead sources, seeing exactly where a lead came from by tracing the URL. I also liked how easy it was to tweak landing page or email template code.

Cons

The price makes it unaffordable for many companies. We had great support and then they transferred support overseas and support quality went down.

Lead history, data appending, scoring, email marketing, reporting, web tracking, and much more

Pros

Very user friendly. Straight forward making it easy for new people to use the program as well as having the ability to do complicated things for power users.

Cons

I wish the landing page editor were more like the email editor. Also sometimes it runs a little slow.

Great Automation Tool for Marketing and Sales

Our company has seen good value after implementing Marketo. It is a complex tool, and I recommend getting specialists in early on. It really does the lead scoring part very well. Its integrations with Salesforce is robust. The Sales reps can easily see which leads are Hot and which are not. We do most of our reporting within Salesforce from the data that is pumped into by Marketo. Marketo can also connect with our website, enhance leads and then when required information is available, then only push those leads into Saleforce

Lead Scoring Handles high volumes well Good integration with Salesforce and other platforms

Cons

Sometimes it is not very intuitive

Hardcore Marketo lover...would never stray!

Pros

Marketo..where do we begin? I started using Marketo two organizations ago and at this point I wouldn't even consider working for an organization that isn't using Marketo. Everything from lead entry, lead validation, lead assignment, nurturing, email communication, landing pages, forms, personalization. At this point it has gotten so big that we have a team using it and we need to enforce best practices.

Cons

You get out of it what you put in. You can run your entire business on it but you need to ensure you are using best practices - if you let inexperienced people behind the wheel, it will turn into a huge mess.
