Custom redirects are also one of the best features that Pardot has because you can utilize them on all SoMe platforms for prospect tracking and provide more quality on certain links on your website.

Here are a few cons which shouldn’t be ignored. Reporting of Analytics of Marketo is very bad and in addiction smart list designs are not flexible and it is very difficult to design them.

I've used Pardot, Hubspot and Marketo - it's by far my top of the three.

Pros

Scalability, flexibility. Unlike many other platforms, Marketo truly can scale at a high pace when built out well. And if you're a confident user, it doesn't hide the complicated features behind a wall of impossible to breach "user friendly" interface - you can get into the weeds and play around and really customise things.

Cons

It's not the simplest, and can be quite tricky for newer/more novice users. But this can be overcome quickly with training.

Probably the Best

Marketo has been great for our organization. Our business model is one where we get ~100k leads/yr, many of which are people downloading for free one of our many open source data management products. This amount of data necessitates that we have a top notch marketing automation tool at our disposal to do everything we need to with regard to emailing, scoring, lead lifecycle, segmentation, etc.

Pros

Easier to use than Eloqua and more robust than Pardot and Hubspot. Unless you value SFDC nativity (Pardot) or tons of features over usability (Eloqua), then Marketo is most likely going to be the right tool for your business. I've come across very few problems I couldn't handle. It also has a top class sync with SFDC.

Cons

It gets overloaded with data fairly easily so our programs, campaigns, data cleanup, and syncs will stall greatly if we're not careful. You also have to be mindful of how you set up heavy smart lists or campaigns as they could take a while to load. This is also true of analytics. Analytics is not the best.

Pros

If you have an idea you can usually get it done in Marketo. It's a very expandable platform. Not as powerful as Eloqua. More powerful than Hubspot and Pardot.

Cons

The interface does have a learning curve. Customer support can lack knowledge and can be slow to respond.

Marketing is such a wide subject and equally complex you need something like Marketo to effectively run campaigns, analyze marketing spend, and attribute lead generation to correct sourcing.

Cons

Takes quite a while to get up to speed, as you would expect. May not be as intuitive as say Pardot but can do so much more.

I think Marketo is the leader in marketing automation as on date. Its platform is solid and can support large volumes of data. If you receive large volumes of leads and do a lot of scoring logic, then this is the right tool for you. We used Pardot before we had to migrate over to Marketo.

Pros

1. Solid functionality 2. Integrates well with Salesforce 3. Stable and robust

Cons

Only one is that it requires you to have a specialist to implement it the right way.

Not beautiful, but necessary

I used Marketo as a lead generation manager at the first startup (15 person company) I worked at. I was the primary tool evaluator, and chose it over Pardot and Hubspot, because our focus was on outbound emailing (Hubspot is not) and we needed a high level of customizability/flexibility (2 years ago I found that Pardot was not flexible enough). Marketo has its own language and way of doing things....

Highly recommend using Marketo

Marketo has been great tool for us for email and online marketing. It really does the lead generation and lead management part well. We have been very impressed by its functionalities. It is specially very good and adaptive even if you have huge volumes of data. We were in this situation (fortunately) where we had tons of leads to be worked and Marketo really helped us sending the right type of deals over to Sales! We also had moved over from Pardot to use Marketo and it turned out to be a good decision.

Not intuitive

If you're a power email marketer, and use SFDC as your primary CRM, Marketo is not for you.

Pros

Feature rich, lots of functionality, decent reporting. You don't have to know HTML to have a decent email template,

Cons

While its feature rich, its very complicated to use. Not very intuitive when doing campaign creation, segmentation, reporting, tokens, forms - basically anything! The UI is slow and clunky and also not intuitive. Setting up multi tiered campaigns (especially webinars) and nurture streams (which is apparently a core strength) were extremely time consuming. Support is horrible. This system MAY be okay if you have a team of highly sophisticated Marketo ops people on staff to get through it, otherwise, consider other alternatives. i have ripped and replaced Marketo 2x with Pardot and couldn't be happier.
