Easiest Signage System around

Reviewed 3 years ago

They are super responsive. I feel like they listen.

Pros

We are using the software as signage for our church. We love that we can collaborate on the content allowing each department to determine which assets to use. We tried several solutions before settling on this one. It gives us the control and flexibility we need while giving us tremendous functionality.

Cons

The developer is still working on some of the native features (youtube support) on the Roku.

Optisigns lags behind competition

Pros

-cloud based management -customer support team is responsive and helpful -fire stick is easy to source and cheap

Cons

-cannot manage content effectively: need ability to group players -very simplistic: no ability for custom widgets; no integration with RSS feeds, Tableau, or Power BI -in net present value terms, Optisigns was our companies 3rd option

OptiSigns for Retail Store

Reviewed 16 days ago
Pros

Love the features and learning how everything operates is pretty straight forward. Really like the fact that I could speak with customer service on the phone being a new user that helped me understand the features and how everything works. Customer service was very helpful getting our display up and running.

Cons

I would like to see more templates available in an array of different colors.

Vendor response

Hello Craig, Thanks for your kind review. Your feedback helps us improve our service and product so we really appreciate it. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please do not hesitate to ask, we are always here to help. Best, Gustavo S.

Very functional mobile app and easy to adjust content from anywhere

Reviewed 10 months ago

The ease of use, ability to schedule content from anywhere, and quality of playback using OptiSigns has been a gamechanger for us. We continue to find new ways to engage our guests now that we have unlocked so many possibilities with a platform that stays up to date with technological changes in the industry.

Pros

It is so easy to schedule content, edit playlists and switch out media.

Cons

There are some small interface issues with scheduling custom repeating events that show up here and there. This is not a major issue as it can be solved by refreshing and recreating the event, but it is worth refining. I also would like to see the emergency message center added to the mobile app, and a bit quicker response on the support side. These are all things that I believe will be improved as this platform continues to grow.

Excellent Solution

Reviewed 3 years ago

We have implented OptiSigns to power about 30 digital displays in our multi-disciplinary performing arts venue which is visited by approximately 150,000 guests annually. These displays are used for wayfinding, concessions/bar menus, box office signage, marketing assets, and even projection. Our team of staff has been thrilled with OptiSigns and its ease of use vs. our previous system. In particular, the Notice Board app is incredibly useful for quick and professional deployment of content including messages like "OPAC welcomes Mr. John Doe" for day time meetings with donors. Our previous software for digital signage had only the most basic of notice board functionality.

Pros

OptiSigns is HALF the cost of our previous software per screen/per month. As a non-profit, we work hard to use cost-effective solutions. The feature set of OptiSigns is far greater than our previous system and after reviewing our options, it appears much more powerful than other solutions. The deployment using Amazon Fire Sticks is absurdly easy. The affordability and availability of Fire Sticks...

Cons

This is really more of a wishlist rather than cons Presets - We would love the ability to have mass presets that could be deployed quickly. For example, a preset would deploy different "Post-show" content to all screens for display as audiences leave. Likewise, "intermission" specific content could be deployed to different screens. Chromebox - I would like to see better integration for Chromebox devices in kiosk mode.

Pleasantly surprised! Features and capabilities for novices, experts and everyone in-between!

Reviewed 2 years ago

So far, great! Scheduling has become my "go to" for digital signage.

Pros

Scheduling was not even on my radar until I tried OptiSigns. I created a couple of schedules "just playing around" and it opened my eyes to a whole new approach to delivering content. With this tool set, I can set the week in advance and tweak the schedules as changes arise. Very nice!

Cons

I am still looking for ways to provide a seamless update of the data being displayed for my non-techie users. I have some playlists that need to change multiple times throughout the day, based on situations and circumstances that are outside of our control. I need to make this as simple and easy as possible as I cannot afford for my users to have to spend a ton of time making changes to content. They are not graphic designers and shouldn't have to be.

Great value for money, very easy to use

Reviewed 2 years ago

Our staff now have access to the most up to date information at a glance.

Pros

I really liked how simple optisigns was to set up. The templates that were provided were easily customisable and the integration of google calendar was the main reason I started to use optisigns.

Cons

I would like to see more consistency around syncing. Deleting an event on my google calendar does not sync to the optisign app. It will delete once a new event is created on the calendar.

less administration and more functionality

Pros

has looked into a variety of Digital Signage options. And OptiSigns is without a doubt the greatest I've come across thus far. They have a lot of modules and features. It's simple to use, and they provide a lot of templates that you may use or customize.

Cons

- I wish it have data stored in Europe country. In terms of data retention and GDPR - Don't support Sharepoint connector yet.

Works well for Small Business

Reviewed 3 years ago

I am able to update Optisigns from any computer where I can login to my account whether it is from home on a Sunday night or 9am weekday at work.

Pros

I switched from a more expensive and cumbersome digital signage company. I run YouTube blooper videos mixed with slides of products to up-sell at a local restaurant. It does what is says it does. Makes any TV a digital sign. Easy to set up (I used a firestick on 2 TVs). I run continuously 24/7. I am very pleased. I hope to contribute user experience to the support team to improve the features.

Cons

When you have a long playlist, it is not visually easy to find the items you want to swap out or change. It would be nice to import one asset and use it multiple times in a playlist, without importing it each time.

Cost effective solution for those seeking to get into Digital Signage

Reviewed a year ago

The ability to have a 7 day trial with full functionality, and what you get for a very reasonable price per screen, has made the overall experience great. Everything seems to work very well. When I reached out to support with a few questions, I received a personalized response in a timely manner.

Pros

We are a small organization looking to get into digital signage. After researching many different platforms, the price point made me choose Optisigns. The included features compare well with some of the more expensive options out there, and I love the fact that they give a discounted rate to not for profit organizations. They have a good variety of templates to get you started and many apps to include in your content creation. Using the website to create and schedule playlists and the ability to preview it immediately is very helpful and the whole process is intuitive.

Cons

It seems that it is not possible to create a custom template that can include different types of media on the same screen. For instance if you wish to have a newsfeed app on one third of the screen, and a logo or graphic on a different part, and a video on another part of the screen. This is something I saw you are able to do with one of the other providers and I thought it is a handy feature. I'm sure this is something that might be added by Optisigns later and it is definitely not a deal breaker for me.

Feature packed, easy to deploy and manage solution for content management on displays

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

We compared several solutions on the market, OptiSigns came far ahead on affordability, the ease to deploy and manage on multiple platforms easily (Amazon Fire TV Stick, PC, web-browser, Android). Our core requirements were fully satisfied within the OptiSigns solution, including: - reliability - the ability to easily create playlists, schedule, split-screen content on displays and have these interact...

Cons

A few minor issues: - Trial is limited to 2 screens within the 30 day period. - All monitors are counted to the licence count. Terrific if there was an ability to select a watermarked or time limited version for test deployment at scale. - A slight learning curve to understand the powerful interactions of schedules, playlists, playlists within playlists and frames.

Very good for starting with digital signage, could be slightly better.

Reviewed 5 months ago

I like majority of the features but as I mentioned above some of the features could be slightly better. I am an avid photographer, video editor, graphics designer and when I connect these three media technology fields and try to use my human capacity at max, this software fails to deliver. I have so many great ideas for our display and I am able to develop them only to be disappointed because my ideas...

Pros

I liked how I could easily use it even from the start. I tried the trial version so far and as soon as I entered the website it was easy to manage everything. Pretty straightforward software and If you have some computer knowledge you will be happy with this, it is not complicated at all. I love how responsive it is in most cases. I love the social media integration. I belive this feature is the best...

Cons

I least liked the Visual Editor. Bugging, glitching, loading my assets took tiiiiime. I did a 30 min dog walk while waiting for one single asset to load so I can re-edit something. The clock feature does not work well with images, it starts before images and it glitches on screen for 10 seconds and then the images I've put inside appear. Great product, great value

Reviewed 9 months ago
Pros

I really like the remote screen management and the playlists. This is a great option for the low cost, and it works with any Amazon Fire device, so I didn't even have to buy any new TVs or devices in order to start using the software. The templates are fairly useful, but there is a little room for improvement with the slide editor, it would be great if the editor worked on mobile devices. The text...

Cons

I think it would be helpful if some of the design elements they have in the templates were editable (like if there is a background image color splash, you could change the color, or select design elements from a menu like the icons). The templates are fairly useful, but there is a little room for improvement with the slide editor, it would be great if the editor worked on mobile devices. The text editor is a bit buggy in my opinion, but overall I am able to get everything working for me. I can't figure out how to use the split screen thing effectively yet...the images don't really look good,

Make Your Waiting Room Television Your New Marketing Specialist

Reviewed a year ago

Our experience overall has been seamless. We started with a 15 minute demonstration. The next day we picked a plan and were building our first signs within 5 minutes. You can't beat the value. 1 new patient a month or 1 patient opting for a promotional service will make for an unmatched ROI vs other marketing tactics.

Pros

Our marketing team is fully remote and our dental practices are spread across a large geographic area, we needed a simple to use, update and maintain option for maximizing our waiting area televisions into powerful marketing tools. OptiSigns aligned with our needs for a simple to deploy solution that worked within existing marketing and operations systems. The ability to utilize the included content...

Cons

The only issue we can found so far but we have been told it will be in a future update is the ability to add in your own fonts and color palettes. Because of this limitation we still have to do most of our creative in Canva and export into Optisigns.

More functionality at a lower price, compared to current software

Reviewed a year ago

I am using this to show videos in my lobby, slideshows about new services in my exam room and for my staff I am displaying a Google Data Studio dashboard that shows them their goal completions. The ability to automate a the entire process (set it and forget it) is gold, while my customers/patients see helpful and entertaining information (plus a little marketing) while they wait to be seen. Any type of business in any industry could benefit from displaying messages on a TV screen, especially since TV's are so cheap. You can even have a TV in the bathroom with a sports ticker from ESPN (a free app with OptiSigns).

Pros

I just recently signed up for a trial with OptiSigns and was sold from the first hour of playing with it. It's super easy to upload or create assets and add them to playlists. In addition there seems to be an app for every need, including embedding a Google Data Studio dashboard for my team members to look at. What I really like is that I can schedule playlists for the entire year in advance. I created playlists for every month and scheduled them for the entire year, which includes holiday messages for specific months. I am a doctor and am using OptiSigns to display slideshows in my lobby & exam room for our patients, educating them about other services we offer. Compared to the service I am currently using, OptiSigns costs half and has more functionality.

Cons

There is a upload limit of 1GB with the trial and 10GB per screen for the paid version. Since I am using this for HD videos, it would be nicer to have a more generous limit nut not a big deal.

Great hospitality upgrade in our restaurant!

Reviewed 2 years ago

Our goal was to do an upgrade from our regular TV and USB stick setup, which was a pain to manage and therefore very static. We have started a 30-day trial, which is great because of a lack of pressure. Spare time is very limited in the restaurant business. So this gave us plenty of time to evaluate and test out its features. Not requiring a credit card is also nice. Furthermore, the restaurant business is always clamoured for budget. Especially in these Covid-times. Giving us the opportunity to go forward with cheap hardware and software investments (most of the parts were already in place) and delivering a works-just-fine experience is a pleasant surprise. Going forward gave us (all of the personnel) great ideas to pursue with our new found digital signage solution.

Pros

Most prominent features for us are the smooth integrations with the Socials. Instagram and Facebook (business) feeds were a breeze to setup. As well as our Google and FB reviews. This is just great to see for our customers (feedback) as well as our personnel (pride of work). Note: Some other offerings failed totally at or did not support this at all. Any media type (pictures and video) we have thrown...

Cons

Having just trialed OptiSigns for a couple of weeks now we have not come across any issues of mention yet. Surely it may lack some super detailed or niche feature sets, customization options or device management others may offer, but the pricing per screen completely makes up for that. The management system may be a bit overwhelming for our employees to self-manage. So management of assets may remain with me, the IT admin, such is life. Although this may be overcome with giving them e.g. access to a Google Slides presentation and incorporate that. And of course, the social and other feeds update themselves automatically. If OptiSigns ever would offer an easy fool-proof phone/tablet-to-screen (iOS and Android) content-creation phone app to manage assets this would be a killer solution!

Great Value for the Money

Reviewed 2 months ago

OptiSigns has made our experience for displaying menus and advertising a breeze. They have even added to our abilities by allowing us to play music on our menu screen which we couldn't do before

Pros

Coming from a different signage software, OptiSigns was easy to use and worked the way you wanted it to. Scheduling menus was a pain in our previous software, but OptiSigns makes this a breeze to use. The additional apps are a huge added value. The competition was charging extra on top of the subscription for some of the features that OptiSigns includes with the subscription.

Cons

Some of the templates didn't seem very helpful for our restaurant. The menu templates were stuck in 1080p but we are displaying on 4k displays. The videos seem to get stuck when I turn the "shuffle" feature on for the playlists

The whole platform is priced really well for a small business. It was easy to set up the hardware player, I used the Amazon Fire stick they have very good instructions on the OptSigns website as to how to configure it properly. Uploading assets and creating the playlist was also super easy.

OUTSTANDING. Great support, wonderful opportunities to capture more individuals' attention.

Pros

I have no idea why anyone would use any other digital signage company. Seriously. I got hands on support all the way through before I even PURCHASED. They addressed every question within the same day. The application to create content is FREE-- I don't have to pay for the templates or any features. There's no hardware necessary unlike most other companies out there. If I could rate it ten stars I would. I love love love OptiSigns and I am so glad we chose them over the other companies we were looking at!

There is nothing bad I could say about this product, everything has gone so smoothly, from set up to content development.

Easy Solution for our Food Menu Needs

Reviewed a month ago

We decided to use Optisigns to manage our menu boards within our bowling center. It was incredibly easy to set-up and it has been even easier to manage the content.

Pros

We run a small bowling alley where we rely heavily on contract employees to help us with our digital ads and screens within the center. Having a system that allows us to update our system remotely, with an easy to use UI is critical to our success. OptiSigns allows us to manage media and playlists while also creating templates that can easily be modified when our designer isn't available.

Cons

There isn't anything that we don't like. If I had to pick something, I would say the design of the interface isn't the best design I've ever seen, but the utility is there and it makes it easy for folks of all skill levels to use.

Great value, especially for the price.

Reviewed 2 years ago

We started using Optisigns as a test un on a new digital display in our dining room. We liked both the price and the ease of use, as well as the quality of the display images so much that we have switched our digital menu displays (3) from our old digital display service to Optisigns.

Pros

Optisigns is easy to setup and implement. Sharing media and content is made very easy with the management dashboard. The quality of the display image is great and everything works smoothly and seamlessly.

Cons

The only, and I mean ONLY thing that I find is laking with Optisigns is digital menu application that makes it easy to update prices for menu items. Unfortunately as it is the menu has to be designed in an external application (like Photoshop) and converted to an image file and then uploaded as media. So, to change a price on one (or many) items requires a lot of work, but could be made much easier by using a menu app like one's available in other digital menu systems.

Extremely easy to use.

Reviewed 3 years ago

So far the overall experience has been great. I will have more on this as I start to add in more screens and different content.

Pros

The software is very easy to use when setting up playlist. Linking up to screens only takes seconds. I have been testing most of the features on a local chiropractors office screen through his firestick. Only took minutes to set up and push content live onto his screen from my phone. I do most of my content creation on the desktop with Adobe software. Once I upload the custom content from my desktop to the Optisigns cloud. I am able to simply control everything else on my phone when needed. This is nice for when I am remote from the office.

Cons

The mobile version of the website is sometimes tricky. Works better in vertical mode. When in widescreen mode most of the dashboard is cut off and innaccable even with scrolling. Maybe an app designed specifically for mobile would improve the ease of use via mobile.

Love Features! Needs more Customizeation.

Reviewed 2 years ago

We wanted to be able to streamline our processes from uploading, ad creation, and app features

Pros

I love the integrations and how easy it is to set them up. Uploading is simple and the Dropbox / Drive app is amazing! I absolutely adore it. It allows me to build out a section for my clients to customize themselves.

Cons

I would love to see more customizability. I bet [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] from support is done with me by now because I send him too many emails (joking). But being able to: - Change Font Size in Apps - Chose different display styles (For Reviews, being able to toggle as most recent) - Change the way some of the Apps Look more than just aspect ratio I would also love to be able to take a crack at designing apps for the system but I'm not entirely sure how to go about it. I have some HTML experience and am wondering the best way to go about it. We are also wanting the possibility to white label the software if possible. We are planning to put in at least 100 screens over the next 6 months.
