Pardot marketing automation provides sales and marketing teams with key insights into the success of their efforts, pinpointing areas for improvement and tracing back successful campaigns to their source.

With advanced micro-level web analytics, such as closed-loop reporting on successful deals, the ability to sync prospects from your CRM with Google Analytics visitor stats, sales lifecycle, paid search and advanced email reporting, teams can determine where best to focus their time and effort.

Sales teams can use Pardot to capture all the relevant lead data from on and off site sources, qualify these leads and distribute them to the right channels. Pardot also supports lead management, lead generation and lead nurturing. Marketing can use the software to manage social media campaigns, as well as to gather pertinent customer information from social media platforms.

Using marketing automation, you can automatically nurture prospects to move them through the sales pipeline, notify sales reps of prospect activities in real time, and measure the true ROI of your marketing efforts with closed-loop reporting.

Included for Pardot clients is access to expert support. New clients are assigned an implementation specialist, and then have access to a client advocate for on-going strategy sessions.

Unlimited technical support is also available via email, in-app chat, and phone (varies by account level) from representatives in Pardot offices across the United States and Europe.

 Still figuring it out...

We've used Pardot for just over two years now. I only recently was involved in the backend of Pardot where I learned how to use and develop our processes using it. I feel Pardot could offer a lot more options of tracking and measuring it's effectiveness. There are additional purchases that you ...

We were pressure sold on pardot even though we are a consumer-facing company. They sold us on the premise that it could do everything and more. Additionally they sold that the integration is superior to other solutions because it is owned by SFDC. That's also untrue. It really has only ...

Horrible product, customer support, and contract.

12/06/2017

None

Pros

We have fully implemented Pardot into our sales and marketing teams. We use everything from landing pages, forms, custom redirects, email templates, email automation, and their gmail plugin. It does¿t meet our sales and marketing requirements.

Cons

In less than one year we have opened 42 support tickets with Pardot. Many with no resolution. After determining that the product simply doesn't work we are transitioning to their competitors. Pardot is still forcing us to pay licensing fees even though their product failed to function. Do not use. Stand Out Issues: - The Gmail plugin simply doesn't work. Activity is not consistently logged in SalesForce. We have reported the technical issue many times to their support. - They cap uploaded assets (Ex: images) at 100 MB storage. This is ridiculous. When we hit the cap they wanted to charge us 4K to increase storage. - Poor reporting on emails: * Missing data on 1:1 emails. Direct emails sent via the Gmail plug-in. * CTR doesn¿t show for under 1% in engagement studio > Requires us to click down into each email template to pull report and export details to do a side by side comparison * There are no reports generated for engagement studio (only drip programs - old feature now retired) - Can't track replies on emails > can¿t gauge performance - Recurring issues with Engage in Gmail and Engage Alerts (holds up the sales team from their day-to-day tasks) - Poor UX in Engage via gmail for sales team (cannot organize 1:1 templates by folder) - Limited on engage logic, can only use prospect fields. We can't use opportunity or account data in automation.

Not as simple as expected ed

08/06/2017

Pros

To be 100% honest, the only pro to this service is that fact that it can get the job done other than that, it's nothin you can't find elsewhere; perhaps simpler. The program has potential but lacks provisions.

Cons

The software is not user friendly , when working with a team of 20-30 people ; with varying degrees of tech awareness, it makes using a service like such incredibly difficult . Additionally I feel the program needs to revamp its approach.

2nd best marketing automation experience

01/06/2017

It's a great marketing automation platform. I think it's probably truly amazing for people who use Salesforce because you'd have a full integration. For me, it's the second best platform I've used - Hubspot has some standout features that work for me that Pardot's missing. But overall, this is a great product that's relatively easy to use (as marketing automation platforms go), and it should definitely make anyone's short list.

Pros

I like the engagement studio, and the overall general features of Pardot. The user interface is very good.

Cons

It's missing some key features that Hubspot has - or has very pared down versions of those features.

Using pardot and salesforce

30/05/2017

There is so much to learn. I have two employees earning badges working toward certification. I need a better understanding of some of the products like Lightning. Google analytics

Pros

Managing drip campaigns and the ability to consistently market to large groups of leads and PROSPECTS is great.

Cons

I wish salesforce emails had the same functionality as engage emails. I like using engage alerts but I do not have that in salesforce. I have created dynamic templates for delivering content but in salesforce not pardot.

Pardot revolutionised our marketing

17/05/2017

Automated forms Automated form responses Automated email tracks Responsive email tracks

Pros

Pardot automated the prospect warming process. We've set it up to respond to quotes, alert internal staff and add them to a mailing list. The mailing list is the automated and changes based on their actions. Eg. if they enquire about product A in a week we send a follow up email about product A. If they click a link in the email we send them a second follow up the next day. If they didn't open the email then we send them an email about product B a week later.

Cons

The biggest drawback is Pardot works best with Salesforce. We have salesforce and it's great but for people without salesforce it might be an added expense.

Lead Automation Platform attached to SFDC

13/05/2017

Pros

If a great lead automation system wasn't good enough as it is, try adding that to a CRM that is pioneering the industry. Pardot packs all the power of the SFDC platform into a lead automation platform.

Cons

The user experience matches Salesforce and can be a little stale. The ability to customize screens and pages with point and click tech would be nice.

Not for beginners

01/05/2017

Pros

The tool has a lot of capabilities, it's nice that it's a Salesforce product. The drip functionality was just was just upgraded and improved, I think that helped its usability.

Cons

It's very cumbersome and not at all intuitive. I would not recommend this as a first automation tool for teams just dipping their toe into it.

We've had a fantastic experience with Pardot

01/05/2017

Pardot is reliable and easy to use, and has helped our organization objectively measure return on investment in marketing automation. I can say with certainty that last year 50% of the net new revenue opportunities we won were tied to marketing automation via Pardot. I only need support from Pardot's customer service team about once per year, but when I do, they are friendly, helpful, and efficient in their responses.

Pros

Easy to Use Easy to Train On Pardot makes it easy to measure a return on investing in marketing automation. The tool is reliable and performant, and the Pardot team's customer service is outstanding.

Cons

The Client Advocate email domain was terrific -quick and helpful customer support for usage-related questions. I'll be very sad to see this deprecated and replaced with the success community.

underwhelming

13/04/2017

I have used Pardot for several years, but it stills leaves some to be desired. While the distinctions are clear, it doesn't seem to offer a marked advantage over free email clients, especially for a SMB.

Pros

email marketing templates are helpful and time-saving

Cons

emails end up in spam folders much too often; cannot say with confidence that it is worth the money.

GetApp Analysis

Sales teams are always looking for more strategic ways to nurture leads. Pardot is a B2B marketing platform that automates this process, providing organizations with the ability to grow their pipelines, generate better leads, and improve their close rates from within Salesforce.com.

SMBs, B2Bs, and sales firms that are looking to improve their email marketing strategies, improve the quality of their leads, and gain more insight into their sales funnels can utilize Pardot’s tools to create, execute, and track their marketing campaigns. The solution helps professionals in the sales and marketing fields connect with customers through paid search, webinars, and video. It also automates lead nurturing behind the scenes, and shows professionals where they can improve their targeted efforts.

What is Pardot?

Pardot is a B2B marketing automation platform that simplifies lead management and makes email marketing much easier for its users. The solution offers tools for building email templates, custom forms, and landing pages. It also understands where its users are working and how they can improve their efforts for maximum output.

As far as lead nurturing and lead growth are concerned, Pardot offers tools such as lead scoring and real-time alerts to let its users know when their prospects are ready to buy. It also prioritizes leads automatically, and quickly assigns leads to the best representatives based on the relative importance of each individual lead. As a result of using Pardot, organizations should be better able to accelerate their pipelines and increase the return on investment (ROI) they see from digital marketing campaigns.

Main Features

Use Email Marketing

Pardot offers a powerful email marketing solution that helps marketers reach prospects through personalized, targeted emails. Marketing automation and scheduling tools help professionals send the right messages to the right prospects at the right time. Meanwhile, Pardot uses custom email authentication, SPAM analysis, and multivariate testing to optimize delivery rates.

Use Pardot’s intuitive email builder, with a WYSIWYG editor, to design your first email. You can choose from one of Pardot’s pre-designed templates, or use HTML code to create your own email from scratch. Schedule the message you’ve designed to go out at the optimal day and time, and set up auto-responder emails to welcome new prospects to your mailing lists or confirm event registrations.

Nurture Leads

Lead nurturing helps to ensure that the best leads are being sent to the best sales reps at the optimal times. Pardot has developed a blended lead scoring and grading model to increase lead quality.

Creating “smart” lead capture forms makes it easier for you to collect the right information from sales prospects and run more targeted campaigns. By automating this process through Pardot, you can reduce instances of human error and decrease the amount of manual work for yourself and your fellow sales colleagues.

Generate Closed-Loop Reports

More than 40 canned reports make it easier for sales and marketing teams to measure their overall effectiveness and ROI. A campaign ROI calculator ties CRM sales opportunity data together with search results, which means marketers are better able to associate prospects with campaigns. This is useful for reporting and calculating the costs of campaigns.

Get a better understanding of your own campaigns by running closed-loop reports with Pardot. Through these reports, you’ll be able to tell where your best and worst leads are originating. This information may be useful for prioritizing which channels should be your focus in the coming weeks and months. You can also create custom reports thanks to Pardot’s partnership with GoodData.

Build Landing Pages

The web page a visitor reaches after clicking on a link or an online advertisement is typically called a landing page. With Pardot, sales teams can design custom landing pages that display content specific to the advertisement that brought the visitor in.

With Pardot’s landing page builder, you can use pre-existing HTML or you can create landing pages from scratch with stock templates. If you’re comfortable using Pardot’s drag-and-drop builder, then the company recommends building landing pages with its tools. Once a landing page has been activated, a URL will be automatically created and that URL should be added to any associated PPC or email campaigns.

Integrations

Pardot includes certified CRM integrations with Salesforce.com, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and SugarCRM. It also offers email plugins, a Google AdWords connector, webinar and video integrations, and an Eventbrite connector.

Pricing

Pricing for Pardot ranges from $1,000 to $3,000 per month. The company’s most popular option is its Pro plan, which offers advanced marketing automation for up to 10,000 contacts. The Pro plan costs $2,000 per month, billed annually.

Bottom Line

  • Provides businesses with the ability to grow pipelines and generate better leads

  • Helps professionals in the sales and marketing fields connect with customers

  • Easy-to-use solution for non-technical marketers

  • Tools for creating, executing, and tracking marketing campaigns
