It's great how it syncs with Salesforce. Importing new lists is easy and so is creating automation rules.
It does the job, but it's design functions and usability for email aren't stellar compared to others that are way cheaper. Other email builders like campaign monitor, mail chimp and Hubspot have better design options and are much more straightforward!

I really enjoy that they continue to make investments in the technology and always have new features coming available for their customers. They continue to add new features based on client recommendations. Their customer service has always been very good, and they have a terrific onboarding program for new clients.
The amount of features available with the drip/nurture campaign is very limited. I do believe this is being improved in a future release. Also, I would prefer to have one campaign from Salesforce and not have a Pardot campaign and a Salesforce campaign for each record.

Insights into visitor traffic, email campaign management.
Less of a learning curve than full Salesforce or other similar customer data tracking & marketing tools. Editing email templates is fairly straightforward. Love the engagement studio functions where page visits to certain pages can trigger emails to known customers.
Doesn't seem to have as much depth or ease of analysis as I'd like, though perhaps this is due to a limited access account. However, if that's the case, it should explain this to me. For example, on drip email campaigns, I can see the stats for individual emails, or for all emails in a single drip campaign, but I can't find a single page where I can see all stats for all emails sent to all prospects. I want more analytics than I find with this tool. Also, it was a pain to navigate the Wordpress integration and much of the documentation is outdated and redirects to Salesforce documentation.

Automation of email marketing, campaign management, reporting.
Integration with Salesforce. Lead scoring, email deliverability. The nurturing and drip automation features have come a long way over the years.
Customer service, workflow building UI could be a bit simpler, email editor has a lot of problems, too. It gets rather expensive as you add what should be considered basic features nowadays.

We used pardot to replace marketo for its ease of use, salesforce integration, and template design capabilities. It is also great for targeted campaign management and sales follow up.

My company implemented Pardot along with our Salesforce implementation and I've been happy so far. Some things are a little clunky but the new Engagement Studio is an improvement. It's definitely a good option for B2B marketing automation but could use a little bit more flexibility in campaigns and a few other nuances.

Really helped us maximize our SF investment by deploying Pardot company-wide into Sales Ops, Accounts Receivable, Project Management, and more. We used Pardot and Sales Cloud to create EZ-ARâ„¢ an automated AR service that requests invoices until they are paid, cutting DSO up to 50%.
Sync to Salesforce - unlike no other Marketing Automation System. Ease of use and navigation. Easy campaign management
Honestly, nothing really to complain about here. There are small bugs here and there, but that comes with every system and I have seen those same bugs and more in other MAS.

I don't find Pardot to be intuitive... AT ALL. If you don't have an expert on Pardot readily available you're going to be in the dark trying to figure out where to go.

Pardot is a rough tool to use - it's cumbersome and the technical support is not there to assist unless you pay additional money and go through a "preferred partner". I have seen better tools and wish we did not sign up with pardot.
that it integrates with salesforce
the usability - the tags and folder documentation, the verbiage between campaign and email, the cumbersomeness of the tool.

I would suggest Pardot for leads management.
I liked the easiness in checking the lead generated from marketing campaign and its integration with Salesforce.
The interface of Pardot could be more user-friendly and the automated email from Pardot could be improved in terms of design.

I have been able to run customer journey email programs and I've been able to see into our campaign analytics through third party integrators. The advanced and robust analytics really stand out to me and make us realize the return on our investment over the course of our campaign journeys.
I have gotten the most out of using Pardot becuase it connects directly to our CRM database, provides campaign analytics all the way down the marketing funnel, and there is a strong team behind Pardot that is always making product enhancements.
Some features are lacking in how you can customize and personalize email campaigns, in particular relating to landing page development, email template design and email deliverability.

I cannot say enough great things about Pardot. This tool has allowed our small team do the impossible. We are able to communicate to our prospects and clients on their time, with information they are interested in. We are able to easily see what channels are performing and which are not. We can tweak our campaigns on the fly and we tracking our prospects and where they are coming from even with very long sales cycles. The tool took a little bit to understand at first, but once we got the main concept the tool is so super easy to use. Getting help and support has not been difficult and they are very easy to work with. LOVE the SalesForce integration. We couldn't use the tool without it!
I don't have any complaints. Took awhile to get used to Pardot's meaning of "campaign" but now we have it :)

I like how easy it was to setup an email campaign and to view metrics/successes of past campaigns
While I love this product, I'm not a fan of the other B2B tools that Salesforce has - so I wish Pardot could be easily integrated with tools from other providers like Google or Adobe

Pardot is a great tool if you are already using Salesforce since it easily integrates with your Salesforce data.
Since Pardot is owned by Salesforce it easily integrates all the email and campaign data into your Salesforce account.
The setup requires a setup process and may require help from a developer who can help set up campaign tracking codes.

It is nearly impossible to get help. They do however have group calls where you can bring you issue and they will try to solve it. You end up waiting for others to solve their problems too.
A lot of functionality offered and some really cool features. Love the ability to look at your email on various devices. The tracking features are great too. There are tons of templates to get you started.
The steps to create a campaign are just not obvious and once you do create a campaign, execution is not obvious either. The template edit feature is really inane. You have to click on the left to edit on the right. Really dumb. Scheduling is not easy either. Support is so bad!

Easy to setup and basic integration with Salesforce. It is good for it's price point.
Pardot is very easy to use for the most basic purposes such as sending out emails and generating lists using metadata from both your Pardot and Salesforce database. Tracking peoples journeys along your website is also a plus.
The software is limited vs Hubspot and other competitors. Reporting is not as robust and integration with Salesforce (the confusing 'Pardot Campaign' vs 'Salesforce Campaign' for example) can be frustrating. Do not expect to be able to get the level of website analytics you do in Google Analytics or the tracking ability available in Hubspot.

Fine, depending on what other software you are using with it. With salesforce it is good.
It is stability and execution of email campaigns and sync with salesforce. I can see the campaign performance in sales too.
The default report module is good for nothing. It is very basic and not usable for marketers. There is no visualisation of reports are available.

Easy to navigate, select, and manage campaigns. Takes me about 5 minutes or less to test and schedule a campaign.
Prospect lists have so many variables that it's easy to miss prospects unless you select ALL. Pardot has so many features that may not be used if the scope is narrow for the campaign.

Pardot has a lot of base functionality that sets it apart from email platforms like Mailchimp and the like. It also provides better integration with Salesforce than hubspot and other less expensive CRMs to give your organization with a complete picture of the sales funnel. Pardot provides email templates upon sign-up that are easily customizable for specific needs. You can test this emails to internal...
Intuitive UI, great functionality for the price, native integration with Salesforce, dynamic content add-on. Automation rules that can help keep the system clean and prospects updated.
Limitations within automation rules for mutli-variable updates. For example - Loading a tradeshow list with campaign member statuses in SFDC. I would like to upload in one automation rule to say if X campaign status, update to this campaign in SFDC for X status, within the same rule I would like to add all of the other statuses with specific completion actions instead of having to run 1 rule for each status. Dynamic content should be able to trigger via a URL parameter and not just a known prospect field.

Easy to use! Designing emails, uploading prospects, creating lists and campaigns are all a snap. Very easy to get stats on campaign performance.
The inability to include Emojis in my email subject lines is one of my top complaints. I'd also like for the email design tool to be a little more robust.

If Salesforce delivers on their promise to improve the reporting - and don't try to charge extra for it - the solution would be much stronger.
Great value for money and has helped us take our marketing campaigns to the next level. Seems generally robust and integration with Salesforce improving.
Integration with Salesforce is still a work in progress (after several years), especially around reporting. Terminology is confusing and reporting at campaign level weak.

Overall Pardot has strong customer support, and can customize to easily fit the needs of your business/company.
Pardot is great for email drip campaign automation and is great for setting up forms and landing pages. It's also great for email reporting.
The reporting layouts aren't customizable. Pardot is kind of pricey as well. There are other cheaper options out there.

If you are a few mailings a month to a few lists or segments of contacts, then this should work fine for you. If you have thousands of contacts that you need to reach in marketing campaigns several times a week with contact options to opt out of one or more segments while still being a part of the master list, look elsewhere.
Some pros for this app are the price point, campaign statistics reporting and integration with Salesforce.
This app appears to be geared towards smaller organizations that do not have a technical staff on board to manage the marketing. It has been so watered down to be user friendly that it not very robust or customizable. It does have a Salesforce connector to track some campaign data in Salesforce. The volume of data that often gets tracked, while important to companies, eats up Salesforce data storage very quickly. If you are not careful with how you manage lists and segments, costs can quickly creep up and become overwhelming.

The biggest benefit was that I was able to get up to speed and learn the software quickly. It wasn't overwhelming and I felt like I could build great looking emails right away.
I like that it enables you to create great looking email without any prior experience or knowledge coding or building emails. They have a drag and drop email builder that allows you to quickly create beautiful, responsive, mobile-friendly emails in an easy to use interface. Their marketing automation features are also much easier to learn than some of their competitors.
For advanced email marketers with coding and development knowledge, Campaign Monitor is a little too simple. It really is geared to marketers who don't have a lot of development knowledge and lacks some of the features of Salesforce's Marketing Cloud.

I first became aware of Campaign Monitor many years ago when I was getting my start in email marketing. I learned so much from all the important resources on their website, which really helped me to leverage competitive design strategies for my campaigns.
Campaign Monitor is a leader in the industry because they provide a great product and fantastic support - their site is a treasure trove of need to know information on email marketing, all at your fingertips whenever you need it. This combination really gives you the edge when it comes to creating, testing, and launching competitive campaigns that drive engagement with your audience and result in increased conversions.
What's not to like? Campaign Monitor has so many advantages there's not anything to complain about!

Not my first choice for the Newsletter focused ESPs, but it's ok.
It has some nice built in engagement segments (wish they were customizeable), and a decent set of basic integration capabilities. For the price, it does ok.
The custom HTML email editing is a pain, you can't actually edit the HTML in the platform, so you've got to constantly upload, test, and re-upload changes. The built in forms are extremely basic, and it's workflows could use a bit of modernization.

By not having the internal direct marketing and html expertise, we rely on our advertising agency to create emails and newsletter templates. Ideally, we would have preferred to work directly with a Campaign Monitor account manager to implement our customer marketing strategy and action plan. Paid consultancy services, from a basic level to a full package (incl. segment + campaign definition and set up; email & enews creation; ongoing performance reviews and recommendation action plans), would be very useful to us and other businesses lacking the expertise internally.
