Pardot - A great tool

Pros

I really enjoy that they continue to make investments in the technology and always have new features coming available for their customers. They continue to add new features based on client recommendations. Their customer service has always been very good, and they have a terrific onboarding program for new clients.

Cons

The amount of features available with the drip/nurture campaign is very limited.

Pardot is good

I am a pardot fan. Learning the ins and outs of pardot has helped get me two different jobs now, so I am glad that I was introduced to it. I would recommend it as a marketing automation tool, especially if you use salesforce.

Pros

I like the marketing automation features. Sending emails. Engagement studio. Stuff like that. I also like how well it connects to salesforce. Great feature to have with your marketing automation system.

Cons

Campaigns are not helpful at all since they don't directly connect to salesforce campaigns, so that is frustrating.

Pardot is one of the best tools out there for managing email campaigns

I like how easy it was to setup an email campaign and to view metrics/successes of past campaigns

Cons

While I love this product, I'm not a fan of the other B2B tools that Salesforce has - so I wish Pardot could be easily integrated with tools from other providers like Google or Adobe

Pros

Pardot make it easy to send/automate emails to those Contacts that reside in Salesforce. In addition, they are always adding more features to increase the usability.

Cons

Unfortunately, Pardot's method for organizing templates, list, campaign and so on is not ideal for me.

I would recommend anyone looking at using Pardot make sure their organization's Account/Contact ownership is cleaned up. Otherwise you run the risk of sending emails from users who are no longer around or from the wrong user.

Fairly simple to learn the basics, compared to other similar tools. Though less robust.

Pros

Less of a learning curve than full Salesforce or other similar customer data tracking & marketing tools. Editing email templates is fairly straightforward. Love the engagement studio functions where page visits to certain pages can trigger emails to known customers.

Cons

For example, on drip email campaigns, I can see the stats for individual emails, or for all emails in a single drip campaign, but I can't find a single page where I can see all stats for all emails sent to all prospects.

Integration with Salesforce. Lead scoring, email deliverability. The nurturing and drip automation features have come a long way over the years.

Cons

Customer service, workflow building UI could be a bit simpler, email editor has a lot of problems, too. It gets rather expensive as you add what should be considered basic features nowadays.

Great marketing automation, but not easy to use.

I really did enjoy using Pardot overall, and I would recommend it as a top-notch automation tool. The learning curve can be steep. I recommend attending one of their 3 day foundations training courses to help jump start your experience.

Pros

Prospect and campaign tracking data can sync easily between the two systems and keep track of all campaign touch points across sales and marketing teams.

Cons

My major complaint with Pardot really has been with the UI/UX. The user experience is not great. It's not intuitive AT ALL. There are many instances where the interface breaks standard functionality conventions, leaving you in the dark trying to figure out how to do even simple tasks. That being said, the Engagement Studio has completely different UI than the rest of the app, and is actually quite a good experience. I guess Salseforce is taking their time redoing the rest of the app, but I'm sure they'll get around to it soon enough.

They offer little support. Their functionality and ease of use is challenging. You can find better CRM products for your marketing efforts, like Hubspot and Marketo.

The engagement studio feature makes it easy to build campaigns.

You have to open several tabs just to keep one campaign organized with all the different items you need to build in Pardot at the same time -- so they are connected when you launch.
