Pardot is very configurable and extensible, allowing for unique ways to capture customer interactions.
We actually use Pardot as a tool to aid user research. Using various channels (i.e. HelpCrunch), we guide users to our capture form. After they submit their info, they are added to an email lists that we use to solicit feedback on our product. This is a very dynamic way to set up the list of interested users. It's very simple to configure email forms and blast them to various user lists .
It was difficult to integrate Pardot forms with our current website. We tried to use the Pardot API to retrieve form fields and populate forms on our site w/o iFrames. The downside of using iFrames is that we lose tracking data and user info. We would like to be able to update forms using Salesforce Pardot Dashboard while using the Pardot API to manually build forms and send form data.

I think that Pardot is a great marketing automation platform, with some features that could be better, but ultimately does what I need it to do.
I don't like that it doesn't allow conditional automation on forms.

Automated forms Automated form responses Automated email tracks Responsive email tracks
Pardot automated the prospect warming process. We've set it up to respond to quotes, alert internal staff and add them to a mailing list. The mailing list is the automated and changes based on their actions. Eg. if they enquire about product A in a week we send a follow up email about product A. If they click a link in the email we send them a second follow up the next day. If they didn't open the email then we send them an email about product B a week later.
The biggest drawback is Pardot works best with Salesforce. We have salesforce and it's great but for people without salesforce it might be an added expense.

Being working with so many tools for different purposes and learning ASAP is a tough job, Pardot is one of the tool which is very well designed in terms of using it, configuring it and getting ready for the end users as well. Simple Clicks, Drag and Drop makes it one of the most powerful tool in the market, and gives a tough competition to the similar products
Highly Configurable Drag and Drop Designing Analytics and Tracking Connectors Profile and Grading
Must allow the users to have custom CSS for designing the templates for Emails and Forms

We just quit our Pardot contract and moved to a competitor that was half the price and that so far has hands-on customer support.
I mainly used Pardot for sending emails and adding forms to our company's website.
Once Salesforce bought Pardot, the customer service experience got very bad. It was incredibly hard to find answers to y questions or to get live support. I had to create a Salesforce developer account in order to even see the Help area for Pardot. I don't use Salesforce for our CRM, though. It was very awkward and cumbersome.

I've helped clients create and implement campaigns onto their websites. When logging into the back-end of Pardot it is jarring at first and hard to navigate. I also have to implement the basic HTML code onto sites for my clients and finding the code is hard to find/navigate.
That it has the ability to create campaigns.
Creating campaigns can be a little confusing, and difficult for when you need to implement any web forms digitally.

Easy of use, features, online learning tools, very little knowledge of HTML is need to create email campaigns.
Forms are not as flexible as I would like. Landing pages are semi complicated to build. Event module difficult to use.

The only reason we've stayed with Pardot this long is because of its connectivity with Salesforce. It helps to have visibility into a prospect's engagement from both platforms. It plays a critical role in our email marketing initiatives and capturing and managing MQLs that come through our website forms. Building and segmenting our audience lists.
Creating customized email templates and nurture campaigns. Easily setup A/B testing for any email send. The ability to slice and dice your segments so you can get more granular with contact lists. Integrated well with many of the other platforms (GoToWebinar) and social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) we used. Obviously with Salesforce too.
Compared to other email management tools, Pardot is expensive and the UI feels outdated. Unless you spend a lot of time reading their resources and tutorials, it isn't intuitive. The Pardot forms is also confusing. They have forms and form handlers and there should be a better way of combining the two to make things simple.

Simple ui for creating newsletters and mailing lists, as well as forms (with completion actions, etc). Very clear documentation.
A bit messy at times. All of the form styling has to be done on the platform itself rather than on the webpage where the form is displayed

Lots of options available, powerful framework for marketing automation, rich forms that can be embedded to accomplish a lot.
Like all Salesforce products, it is extremely complex and not made for implementation without some serious technical chops and/or a partner.

Overall Pardot has strong customer support, and can customize to easily fit the needs of your business/company.
Pardot is great for email drip campaign automation and is great for setting up forms and landing pages. It's also great for email reporting.
The reporting layouts aren't customizable. Pardot is kind of pricey as well. There are other cheaper options out there.

I like the ability to be able to connect all assets such as campaigns, landing pages, forms and auto responders in one place. It helps keep track of progress.
The prospect details page could be a little more simplified. I find that it can overwhelm you with information that might not apply to the prospect.

It took me a little while to get my head around the way layouts, landing pages and forms are set up. It seems a little convulted but works pretty well.
As mentioned above, things are a little convuleted with Pardot.

We have fully implemented Pardot into our sales and marketing teams. We use everything from landing pages, forms, custom redirects, email templates, email automation, and their gmail plugin. It does't meet our sales and marketing requirements.
In less than one year we have opened 42 support tickets with Pardot. Many with no resolution. After determining that the product simply doesn't work we are transitioning to their competitors. Pardot is still forcing us to pay licensing fees even though their product failed to function. Do not use. Stand Out Issues: - The Gmail plugin simply doesn't work. Activity is not consistently logged in SalesForce....

I think the best part is the great integration with Salesforce.com. Great in building landing pages and forms, as well as building automation rules. On top of all these, now it has a much lighter and modern user interface.
It still lacks some minor features, like being able to filter prospects by the last time they performed an activity.
