Pros

Our developers love the ease with which they can extend the framework and contribute to community.
Many thanks to them without whom we would not have the success we have. I recommend VERY HIGHLY.
They are responsive and friendly. We are developing a set of bundles that allow the management of Print publications and the PimCore / Active WebToPrint solution is a great success.

Pros

I love that I can quickly find the assets that I need and that I can file robust caption and other detailed information with images.
The Montala support team has been amazing - super-fast response time, despite being on different continents. Every rep I've had contact with has been helpful, respectful, and patient.
A very positive experience, user feedback has been excellent.

Cons

That means that updates can be somewhat painful (ExtJs 3 to ExtJs 6, Zend Framework to Symfony). But I wouldn't say that they are any more painful than updates in competing products.
Additionally pimcore offers an ecommerce framework which I personally have no real experience with.
Pimcore will fail if you expect to find a complete solution for your business case right off the bat. It needs professional advise for customization an implementation.

Cons

I find that my colleagues inexperienced with image searches struggle with the usability.
The user interface is not intuitive, and some of the concepts are difficult to teach, so it's been difficult to onboard users, especially remote ones.
Development happens without consultation, and the recent introduction of the new 'selection' option has caused me several problems in adding an extra stage in my work process.
