Our church has been a user for about 3 years now, and we like this product for the most part. We find that it works well with most of the systems that we had set up long before purchasing, and we would definitely choose CCB again if given the option. I wouldn't recommend this to churches just looking to save contact information, but I would highly recommend it to churches looking to further engage...
integrations with other online tools, customer service has been extremely helpful, updates seem to address areas of need, number of tools available
cost is high compared to some offerings, but value is high as well. Oftentimes we have to change our internal systems because of the limitations of the tools available (I would imagine this is common for every system that isn't custom though).
Hi Jake, Thank you for your post; we love partnering with you and are very excited about all the new updates we will be providing our wonderful church partners in 2017! Have a blessed week, Pam

The learning curve was steep but worth it. As time has gone on, CCB's relevance within the church management industry has faded.
CCB's ability to run detailed reports and custom searches is a strong feature. Because of its popularity among churches, there are tribes of user communities that make it easy to discover and share tips and tricks.
The design, interface and usability of CCB is stuck in 2010. We are migrating away from CCB and to one of their competitors because of the ease of use, simplicity of their mobile app, and more competitive pricing structure.

We are a church that has a K-12 school, creative arts studio, cafe, and our structure is small groups. We are preparing to open another campus. CCB is the tool that keeps us in sync, allows the focus to be on people and relationships, but keeps the data and processes we need to ensure things don't get missed. Staff use CCB for givings, calendars, communications, scheduling, attendance, resource/room...

Ease of use and powerful reporting
Church Community Builder (CCB) is a power packed data base with the ability to customize and create systems that work best for your individual church. We love that it doesn't have the look or feel of typical database and how user friendly it is. CCB understands the heart of church discipleship is relationships and therefore their product helps to facilitate relationship while maintaining high level data power. We searched through many Church Management Solutions before landing on CCB and have been very pleased over the last 2 + years. I appreciate that they are always looking for ways to improve and value our input to build the best system.
There are a couple of reporting features that I wish were a little more robust. As the data guru I still find some frustration with how certain reports are built or why I can't include certain fields or columns when I am building a custom report.

Frustration! I did discuss this with my boss, and his response was related to the cost. So, my understanding is that this software is well worth the cost. (I beg to differ sometimes.)
The best thing about the software at the moment is that there is an app available. The app however, does not do all that I would like for it to do. It does make the most basic items available, but a deeper use is not available. Customer service is phenomenal. They have a beta program that is very responsive and are available is many ways...even through Facebook!
Customer service is phenomenal, but the problem is that I constantly need help. The software is CONSTANTLY in flux (which is good for those who like seeing how responsive the company is to their requests) but not everyone can be pleased. At some point I would like to see a solid program that is user friendly. Even if I don't like "where they put stuff" I would like to be able to get into a routine. It took me a very long time (3 years) to learn how to perform an in-depth search that would give me the results I actually needed.

We like the groups feature and how easy it is to message group members, keep their information up to date, the opportunity for group members to connect with each other, love the forms and automation that are available in the software. We love the giving feature and ease of use for our church to set up automatic giving and pledges. The software is great for ministry leaders whether volunteer or paid....
The development of the mobile app is recent over the last 12 to 18 months. We wished it would have been sooner, but they are really doing a good job on improving that and adding features to it constantly. The scheduling feature, which would be the most used, but is the later part of mobil development. CCB is releasing and has realeased it with improvements already. Overall though, CCB is a company for churches and listen to their customers in what they need.

I give 2 thumbs up for CCB overall. The cost is significantly less than many of the other ChMS's out there, and I feel our church gets more "bang for the buck" by using it! We regularly get comments from our attenders that show us how effective CCB is ("Wow! How did you know this was my 2nd visit?" "Thanks for the note that you were praying for me." "Really? I've been attending since 2006, but haven't attended membership, yet? How do I sign up?") I haven't mentioned one of the best features: the ability for members of groups to communicate to each other (without either having the other's email address)! Our group members feel a sense of belonging, right from the start!
I'm assuming 5 stars is best in your survey. The customer support rates many more stars than I'm able to give. The team at CCB was so supportive and helpful during the transition from our "old" ChMS. CCB's Process Queues make tracking attenders so easy: we can "watch" them as they move from first-time visitors to members. The Queues also make it easy to see which volunteers have been processed...
We have found some issues when trying to email "Parents Of", and are aware that changes to improve this feature are expected any day (first-quarter 2011). We are a large church (5,500-plus in an average weekend), and initially found CCB to be more geared toward smaller churches. In the 5 months we've been with them, we've seen them changing to be more accommodating to the large churches...but there's still room for growth in this area. Implementation packages are available, but if not used, the church may feel like a fish out of water. I highly recommend implementation be used for all churches that want to use as many CCB features as possible.
Update: Since this post, emailing the PARENTS OF has been addressed in the software.

I loved the idea of the system. We were looking for a system to help stream line our processes. This system made things harder for us. It seems you need to hire a staff member just to manage the system. Maybe this product works better for larger churches, I am not sure. Just trying to send an email is difficult. Our staff is on the verge of revolting and just not using the product. I would consider...

We're sorry that you had the negative experience that you are sharing here. One of the things that was shared with us but wasn't included in this review was that there was a lack of "time and knowledge to train everyone in using this system". This can easily be the situation for a church plant when resources are limited. We offer an online test drive during the evaluation period and give access...

Overall, it is very easy to use. That said, we do NOT use much of its capabilities. We are a small church plant. As the pastor, I use it to communicate with the congregation and our small groups. That is a key to my liking CCB. It is very easy to create a new group, edit those in an existing group and more. We also tract all of our giving through it, making bookkeeping very easy and the end of the year tax reporting extremely easy. Each person can log on and get their own giving statement. They can also track where their giving is at any time.
For a church our size, this is an expensive package. And there is a lot to learn to truly get the most from the software. Best to have a person who would immerse themselves in it, which we have never had. For a larger church, the options would really be handy. Of course, you need lots of computers all over your facility to make the most of CCB.

Many church users don't have the technical or data chops needed to think through how best to setup groups of users, permissions and access levels, and to create reports. Finding someone with that skillset in your body will be critical to getting the most from this platform. It seems like it's structured for large churches - mid-sized churches on the 300-500 range will find themselves up against missing features or budget constraints. It's a good product, but consider a few other leading options to find what meets your need and budget.
Comprehensive platform with lots of features. They are beginning to do more with mobile and text integration. The end user experience is fairly intuitive. I use the people directory function on my phone several times a week which is even more useful if you encourage your body to upload pictures.
CCB is somewhat difficult to administer and has a fairly steep learning curve to realize the full benefits. It seems like a lot of functions are ala carte and we are always upgrading to get this feature or that feature. For instance, we can't use mobile devices (tablets) with children's check-in unless we get a more expensive package. We are constrained to using computers or more expensive MS surface products.

We knew we were taking on a big project when we adopted Church Community Builder as our go to management solution but the intuitive way the system works has made it a relatively stress-free process. We haven't even used all of the various modules and we feel like we are getting our monies worth and more. The support staff have been very quick to get back to us when needed and the tutorial videos are easy to pull up and specific to the task at hand. We are very happy with our choice to go with Church Community Builder.
vast integration of one stop shopping for church management needs Quick access to people via the Lead App. Ability for leaders to easily manage their own areas
There is so much involved that it takes a bit of work to understand how to administrate it all Would love to see people being able to automatically reset their own passwords and not have to wait for some admin to reset it for them. Doesn't work with Canadian banks for interact transactions leaving only the more expensive credit card option.

Overall, the experience was alright. Because it had many issues and was quite expensive, we have switched to a different system.
There are some nice functions like emailing groups, texting groups, and the fact that it records all financial records for the purpose of sending giving statements.
There is a lot about it that is really finicky. The groups work well but they don't allow you to text every phone number (There is no international cell phone carriers supported). Along with that, the upload function for giving doesn't always work. When you mark things as tax deductible in an excel sheet, it doesn't always recognize that in the system so at the end of the year I had to go through and change everything one by one to make the gicing statements accurate.

This kept our church organized at a high cost each month.
Church Community Builder kept us very organized, but it came at a high cost that ultimately wasn't worth it.
Very expensive and requires tech support to help customize, and even then there are severe limits (like how many new fields for information can be created). There are lower priced and even free options available. RockRMS is a great option.

Really easy to use software. CCB releases regular updates and they are constantly working on new features, to help us get the most out of the software. CCB also boasts an app now! CCB has great customer service, with a fast turn around time. The staff are invested in finding a solution for your issue. They have a great training system and how-to's when you need them, including videos and tutorials.
We're a small church on the West Coast of South Africa and we find the software extremely expensive with the exchange rate. Also, it would have been nice to be able to schedule training sessions on the software, especially in the beginning, in our immediate environment. Like a show and tell...

CCB was the first web-based ChMS we used, and that was huge for us. It had a ton of features that we made use of, even if our church wasn't really big enough to need them. It provided us a way of doing things we hadn't done before and trying things to see if there was a better way than our current system. It was a huge step up from our previous software.
After five years, we finally switched away. We had been discussing it for over a year before that. Our two biggest concerns were 1) the lack of updates and 2) the cost. 1) For as good as it was, it didn't seem like they had really made improvements in the areas we (and many others) needed in the time we used them. Yes, they updated the software, but it just wasn't what we needed. 2) We knew it was expensive getting into it, but it was better than what we had. After a few years (and lack of meaningful updates), the cost became too much to keep paying each year.

Financial side functions well, software rarely (if ever) has glitches, and functions as intended. Profiles are robust, and when info is added, it is easy to find. Most of what this software claims to do, it does faithfully, and well.
Email builder is primitive, has no tracking, and produces simple, ugly emails. Ease of use for users is low, volunteer scheduling is ok, but not great, design of site appears dated, not fully brand customizable, and overall a bit small.

There has long been a love/hate relationship with this software because we appreciate the cost and the features it fails on so many other levels.
CCB offers many features for the user to be able to register people, track giving, etc.. They are always updating and making changes which is nice.
The way to carry out many of the functions that would be helpful is not organized in an intuitive way. This software has proved to be exceedingly frustrating for the end user.

We use CCB everyday so it helps us out a lot. I wish that the features were easier for our less trained lay leaders and attenders to understand.
I love that this software gives us a comprehensive database of our entire congregation, and that we get that at a reasonable price.
CCB can be tough for our congregation to navigate and integration for signup forms is lacking. There's very little mobile-friendliness or ease of use for our congregation.

After massive changes to one of our most needed tools using this software key features were no longer supported. Even when moving from Beta tested features to fully released functionality changes were ongoing over months making it necessary to continuously figure out how features worked and duplicating our work efforts. In my opinion working with this company has cost us valuable time and effort for a small organization.
When we originally began using the product it allowed for members to control data and volunteer rolls .
Totally changed volunteer management functions, massive software changes made training volunteers on use prohibitively difficult for our organization.

It has made an significant difference for our church’s functionality. It’s a tool in the hands of more of our staff and lay leaders. CCB has eliminated some of the pain points we had with a previous software that was not user-friendly or affordable.
We love that it’s user friendly and pretty intuitive. CCB has been making improvements to the software since we purchased it and they have been significant and add to the functionality and user-friendliness.
Due to significant changes in the software, the Support team hasn’t been able to respond in as short amount of time as they previously did. Sometimes it takes more than 24 hours.

Meets all our database needs, cost effective, integrates will with our web and financial systems. It was fairly easy to learn and the support has been very strong.
The check-in system takes some figuring out with all the group options. Would like to be able to schedule a mail merge and have more control over the presentation. Also would be nice if there was a support option between the help desk and paying to taking a class.

CCB has given our church a lot of things to like! These are some of the things that we enjoy most about CCB: - metrics - Communication - value - customer Support - Constant updates and improvements
There really isn't much to be disappointed with when it comes to CCB and what it provides. Probably the most disappointing about CCB is that they offer limited two way integration with merchant providers.

Records management
They have great support, but honestly it's a pretty average system compared to some of the other choices available to churches.
Does not easily integrate into your existing website. For example it's difficult to include the giving box, or really any of the features. For the price they charge you would think they would be further along in this area but they aren't.

I work with several churches and CCB is by far the best database I use. Its expensive but you do get what you pay for! I highly recommend CCB to any growing church that wants all their congregation, groups, scheduling, and giving in one place.
CCB is pretty much everything you need in church database and it integrates with many other apps out there making it easy to tie everything together.
Sometimes even in the custom reports I can't get the information I need. I wish there was a little more flexibility in the reporting.

we'v benefited from having our "roster" in one place that we can easily manage everybody from ... like a CRM for our church visitors and members.
absolutely blows my mind what you can do, and how you can use this software to measure engagement and growth at your church.
it can be really expensive, and really overwhelming (at first?) but if you commit to getting your team on board i'd suggest you spend time really getting to know the software because the amount of features are incredible!
