I have been working with this software for about 1 month now and some of the information is not going into the right accounts like I want. The information on the contacts loaded up wrong from my excel file, so you can't just erase and re-due the entries because once the name is connected to a payment then you can erase the names. Also, you can look up your check number by check unless you put each check you're looking for into the program sometimes they will come up and other times they will not. So it has been a real learning experience.
It shows us the breakdown of what coming in an expensed.
It's not really a church program for church business you have to create all of the accounts and hope you doing it correctly or things will not process correctly and you can't delete files once the number is used that you created to associate with the file.

Buy this software for your church!
Menu layout; integration between accounting and contributions; like the ability to enter a person in contribution management and it automatically gets entered in people database; reports are what I need; flexibility in making improvements to the system; they listen well; ease of use, don't necessarily have to be a CPA to use it.
the refreshing after entering a transaction takes 2 or 3 seconds instead of a split second :-)

After looking at several other church financial software products, we decided on Aplos Software and are very satisfied with the product. It meets all of our needs.
Aplos software is simple to use and the fund accounts can be easily customized and updated to fit your churches budget categories. Great for volunteer church treasurers. You don't have to be an accountant to use this software. After populating the people management tool and the account set up, all you have to do is enter contributions and maintain the check registry. We have had some compatability issues with Internet Explorer 9 in regard to downloading reports. However, the technical support folks at Aplos were quick to respond with a fix. We are a small church so I'm not sure if it would meet all the needs of a larger church. Aplos is expanding their capabilities.

This is extremely affordable software for everyday Church needs. Their customer support is extremely helpful. Interface is easy to manage.
I haven't had any issues with donor management and this software. It's a great purchase for organizations.

My overall experience with Aplos has been phenomenal! They literally have THE BEST customer service of any company in any type of business with whom I have ever interacted! When I contact them with a question, I am always made to feel like a valued customer. In addition, each customer service representative has always answered my questions thoroughly, kindly, and professionally. I also like the fact that Aplos listens to its customer base. Over the years (since 2015) that we have been with Aplos, I have seen improvements/additions to the software as a direct result of customer feedback.
What I like most about the Aplos software are the many features it offers that make the business aspect of our ministry so much easier to handle than it was before. Within Aplos, we get the extremely beneficial multi-level fund accounting, donor management, event registration, website building, etc. As we are growing, we are also applying other features of the software. It just keeps getting better!
Initial integration of this software into our church usage had its "hiccups" but not because of Aplos. It was a "learn-as-you-go" process for me.

I love how this is specifically for churches. So it uses church language and makes it easy to organize everything.
It doesn't have as much functionality as Quickbooks Online. Quickbooks Online has a better budgeting feature and you can do more with it.

During the time that our church used Aplos, we were pleased with the software. Its ease of use was important for those that did not have accounting backgrounds. The only reason we are not still using this software is because we merged with another church and they have another accounting software already purchased. I am looking at bringing this church to Aplos with time.

Features, usability. I am still learning but the software helps provide great clarity for the management of account of our church.

It's obvious the creators of Aplos designed this platform with church accounting in mind. I really like how flexible and customizable it is!
I do wish the reporting and descriptive graphics were a little more dynamic. This would help when presenting budgets to staff, boards or investors.

The church faced many challenges during Covid, including a restriction on the number of members who were allowed to attend in person. Aplos platform allowed for easy implementation and management of electronic donations and gift giving in lieu of in-person contributions. It also has allowed for more efficient book keeping in general.
Aplos has allowed our HR client, a large regional church group, to continue their mission during covid with operational and financial efficiency.
The one drawback with Aplos is the initial setup. This requires a serious time and manpower commitment to ensure that everything is setup and functionally correctly. Once we went live, things ran very smoothly.

The software is easy to use and not too expensive. Minimal accounting or bookkeeping experience is needed.
I saw the software worked great when our church was small. As it grew the amount of accounting required a program that could keep track of individual versus batch transactions.

Great for accounting purposes. :)
I would recommend this to any church that has been using other accounting software and has been having issues. This software is designed to make your life easier.
Pricing plans might not fit certain churches as 1 user is the cheaper plan.

I am the Treasurer for our non profit church. We are able to easily keep records for our contributors, expenses, and income. The software is simple but effective.
I have yet to try the bank reconcilation and payroll but I am sure it will integrate nicely once I spend the time to get to know more of the product.

Much more accurate accounting and record keeping, balancing with bank deposits.
We made the transition from paper to online accounting via Aplos. It is very easy to make entries and retrieve reports, keep up with contributions and even church membership.
Users with little computer experience could be put off a bit but that would be the case with any online accounting system.

Aplos is perfect for the small to a medium-sized church that handles their finances via committee. The controls are intuitive, the reports are straightforward. They've really done a good job in this area. Its deficiencies are with people integration.
It's ease of use. For the church staff with no accountant that has to handle finances via committee, Aplos is near perfect. Reports are easy, data entry is easy, reconciling is easy.
In order to track who gives what, you will need to duplicate your entire database of people into it first, then maintain the duplication. This ultimately led us in another direction. If there was a way to tie in an already-existing database (we use Elvanto), then we would have been sold.

I hoped this would be a good solution for our needs, but it is a very expensive non-solution to even basic church management and accounting needs.
It is online, and mostly attractively put together. The support is integrated into the interface. It is available through most any computer with a web browser.
It is not a robust accounting system. For example, there is no way to track a group of Memorial Funds within one overall Memorial Fund. They offered suggestions for work arounds to this, but the general response for this and most other questions I had was, "Unfortunately, we don't do that." They claimed on their marketing materials that you could track attendance at various worship services, but you...

Had the privilege to do some work for my church and used this software to help with the funding and loved it. It was very user-friendly, had lots of features and widgets to make our lives easier.
Apart from the program itself, it doesn't have a lot of ways for one to do some customization on templates and different stuff you'd like to do, but overall, great buy!

We have been using this product for 3 years and have found it to be perfect in our church application. It is easy to learn and we have had excellent support.
I like the fact that it is an on-line accounting product and I can access it from home, on the road, or wherever I am. The reports are excellent for our use. I have had very good customer support and the pricing is very acceptable.
Have made suggestions for product features, but they have apparently not been a priority or they haven't felt the features were needed

An IT person picked this software for our church but it is an accountant's dream! I am so impressed. And, the customer support team has always been so available and helpful. If you are not an accountant, they can train you up with their free seminars on how to do practically any needed accounting process.
To do the accounting for a small, independent church, I find APLOS to be very easy to use, forgiving of mistakes and changes, reliable, and very well designed. It has done everything that we have asked of it! Never has there been any lost data.
Usually, I can think of ways to improve a product but I have never once thought: "I wish that APLOS would do this differently."

Our church accounting is much more efficient with Aplos. It is easy to set up and use. I'm able to keep track of multiple accounts with ease. Two of us use the software almost daily and have never had any issues or hiccups.
I love that this software is cloud based. All entries are automatically saved and easy to correct or delete. Because it is "in the cloud" I can access from anywhere.
Instead of using accounting terminology, they use simpler words or methods. It all makes sense, but I had to get used to words such as tags and purposes.

I tried and tried to make Quickbooks work with fund accounting but knew it wasn't as efficient as it could be. Then, I found Aplos and have never looked back. Aplos make church fund accounting a breeze. We love it, and you will too.

We have a robust reporting for our church finances. Better than most I've seen and I think it is in most part due to the ability to talk through the needs with Aplos support and get the help on what functionality meets those needs.
When I came on board as treasurer we were using the software inefficiently and not taking advantage of functionalities that would help us. I worked with the team asking questions about my needs and they translated those needs to functionality. Within a very short time I created funds and tracked financials that gave a much better picture of our finances.
I was not around for implementation so I am unsure if the problems were the Aplos or GVC team related. Now I understand the software, it is critical to plan the uses than implement .
