Pros

This is really good software that has strengthened our Donor Relations work. It's a very solid piece of software.
I really like that user friendly, easy to use and streamlined from one the beginning to the end. I like how easy it is to navigate and implement the whole software to our small organization.
If you set-up your system with having in mind the information you will like to pull in reports, then you will love the reporting as much as I do. The reports are very easy to create and understand.

Pros

Customer service is amazing. All the representatives are patient, kind, and so knowledgable about Bloomerang.
The thing I like most about Bloomerang is the integration features. Being able to track and send information quickly and seamlessly is super important to our team.
Excellent software- worth the money, great for fundraising beginners who are still familiarizing themselves with donation entering and data management.

Cons

Bizarrely it didn't feel this was a focus for DonorPerfect, they tout having automatic processes but this wasn't entirely accurate. It was automatic, after you processed or did a few steps.
Reporting can be complicated and difficult even for experienced users. Events management is extremely difficult and complicated, and lacking a lot of features.
The Change of Address (COA) feature that is an add-on completely messed up our database.

Cons

After pleading with them for weeks for having missed the window by a couple of days they have not returned dozens of calls and just say "it's policy" even during a global pandemic and recession.
They have predatory contracts and very shady renewal schemes that lock you in and give you no way to cancel.
Working with Bloomerang has been the most frustrating experience. Every week there is a new excuse for why they are behind.

Issues with Donor Perfect

We switched to Bloomerang and like it very much.

Pros

We switched from having it on just our computers to the online version which opened up customer service help.

Cons

I found it very difficult to pull up reports. It was a cumbersome database to work with.

Great for Small Teams!

Overall it's been mostly a positive experience. It is definitely an improvement over our old system (DonorPerfect) and I really enjoy using it.

Pros

The reporting abilities and interface is very easy to use even for beginners, very intuitive overall. The customer chat is also really helpful in figuring out the reporting so that makes it even easier. The only issue would be organizing existing reports as they really don't have a good way of doing that yet, but they are trying to improve it. The system itself is also easy to navigate and they are constantly trying to make it better. I also like that the email features are built in which makes it easier to report on results. I also like a lot of the free webinars.

Cons

While I like the system overall, it needs a bit more work on core functionality before they carried away on new features. Sometimes they make features that are very one-size-fits-all which often leaves us out. We know what's best for our org, so sometimes we have to opt out of something if they don't let us customize it enough to work for our donors.
