I've been using Logos for over 15 years and love the product.

2018-01-02

It simplifies the process of creating Bible studies and drastically cuts preparation time.

Pros

The customizable workspaces make it easy to set the appearance of the application to suit your specific needs.

Cons

The price of Logos is well beyond that of its competitors but you get what you pay for. I continue to update the base package but do not expand my library.

Logos is crazy powerful and has a massive database, but can be tough to navigate at first.

2018-01-17

Pros

Logos has been a huge help both in my graduate studies and my ministry. The team at Logos has done the hard work of compiling and digitizing a vast library of resources and packaged it in a way that allows pastors and students to find and cite what they need quickly both for academic and ministerial use.

Cons

I have seen that Logos is highly customizable, it just takes some time to get it set how you want it.

The Best Bible App Around, Either Free or Paid

2018-08-21

Pros

In addition to these latest upgrades that make its UI much more intuitive and like a web-browser, the added functionality of being able to lookup a word in its original Greek or Hebrew language by merely highlighting the word or phrase is outstanding and not found in its competitors.

Cons

Two gripes - (1) No access to the NIV.

Incredible Resource, but out of reach for non-scholars

2019-04-05

An incredible program and resource. UI/UX is a bit outdated compared to the modern day standard, and the price is out of reach for the everyday user.

Pros

It truly is an incredible resource when you can have access to it.

Cons

The ease of access to the everyday person.

Logos is the most powerful and useful Bible software out there.

2018-02-10

It gives me deeper understanding of the Bible as I use the original language tools, and access to great commentaries, bible dictionaries, and other resources all on my computer so I can dive deeper into something I am wanting to learn more about.

Pros

I like having a number of commentaries available at the click of the button (much faster than having to pull them from the shelf; and easier when it comes time to move as well!).

Cons

Also, sometimes it can be challenging to remember how to do certain functions (such as export verse lists to Word, or execute various search functions).

Significant help for study and preparation

2019-08-08

I have used Logos most consistently when doing word studies of the Hebrew or Greek roots of the English translations. I thoroughly depend on that tool when doing sermon prep. I also use the digitized versions of commentaries regularly, which helps me avoid taking large books with me to coffee shops when I am preparing a sermon or teaching. I have been generally happy with the ways that Logos supplements my study.

Pros

Word study tool is phenomenal and easy to use. Integrations with other Faithlife products.

Cons

User Interface continues to be clunky in some ways.

Best Bible/Church Software I've Ever Used

2018-04-05

My study of scripture has improved exponentially.

Pros

Not only is it first-rate Bible software but it also provides in-depth access to the writings of the Church Fathers and great theologians, saints and mystics from throughout Church history!

Cons

Not always the most intuitive interface. Would like to see better online help features and tutorials.

Logos has been the best tool for studying the bible I have used

2018-01-16

You get bible translations, maps, images, and a lot of historical data.

Pros

My favorite feature is the Strong's concordance implementation, which allow me to study word by word and get the Hebrew and Greek original meaning which can give a whole new perspective to the verses.

Cons

I really cannot find a negative side for the software, I could say it is expensive but I guess its price it is somewhat reasonable for all that it offers

Logos is an invaluable tool for my ministry.

2018-05-04

Helps me deepen my walk with Christ, my messages, and recover my time.

Pros

With the recent addition of the Sermon Builder and integration with Faithlife Proclaim, my workflow has been streamlined even further as I can now write it, build slides, and export them without ever having to leave Logos.

Cons

It is pricey. I was able to purchase it at a significant discount while a student, but it can get expensive quickly. I would still say it is worth the investment!

Extensive resources, easy-to-use interface, fast searches, specialized packages, mobile apps. Great!

2018-06-27

Pros

I also really appreciate the mobile apps.

Cons

The app will sometimes lag or hang; and it is a very large program, so it takes a lot of disk space on my computer. The collections, while nice, are also expensive -- at least equal to the cost of printed books. The convenience, though, usually outweighs the cost.

Logos--the Word at your fingertips!

2019-06-21

I love Logos. I use it for bible study prep, sermon prep, word study, devotion, and so much more!

Pros

Logos has a sleek and user-friendly interface. I love that the library comes preloaded with books to help you navigate and study the Scriptures in the original languages.

Cons

The nature of the program and its many features makes the mobile app somewhat difficult to navigate--Logos is much more easily used on a desktop or laptop computer.

Great Bible Study Tool

2018-09-20

In a social media world, it would be great to have more options for exporting and sharing notes, studies, ect; but the tool is great for personal study!

Pros

This is a very complete Bible reading and study software that offers a depth of research not found in most places.

Cons

The least friendly thing is the sharing features and the cost for the full set.

Great For Ministry and Personal Use

2019-07-23

Overall, there are quite a few "bible study resource" software providers out there who provide a great platform for free, but if you are looking for more features and willing to pay for them, Logos stands out among the rest.

Pros

I don't have direct experience using it for sermon planning, but I'm known many Pastors who raved about the resources and functionality available to make their life easier. Additionally, the free books of the month are typically solid and worth checking into every month to see if it's something you might want/like.

Cons

The mobile app can be quite unstable even on cutting edge phones.

Very powerful Bible study software

2019-12-10

I have been using Logos for over 15 years and have been using the latest version for a year. It has made me much more effective at preparing and teaching lessons.

Pros

Everything is cross-indexed so working in multiple references is easy. The mobile app is included as part of the package and is very useful.

Cons

It can be complicated to understand at first but after you set up the way you like to work with the software, it is easy.

An endless number of resources, literally in the palm of your hands

2020-04-11

I consider myself a very investigative character, I usually don't take anyone to their word, my curiosity has pushed me to doubt and research many topics and the enlightenment and spiritual enrichment has been amazing.

Pros

I currently have over 2500 resources in my library, I will possibly not have time ever to read every single one of them, BUT through the usage of Logos 8 I am able to reference my entire library for whatever pieces of information I need, even when researching while on the go on my cellphone.

Cons

The inability to import resources to my kindle.

Logos Bible Software makes my study time more productive

2018-03-07

Pros

The functionality of the Logos apps allows me to study on my mobile device even when I am on the road.

Cons

The vastness is also one of Logos' drawbacks. This program huge and there are literally 2 day seminars to teach you how to use it. I will never use anywhere close to its full functionality. It also requires a very fast PC/MAC to run well.

I have enjoyed using Logos when out of the office. It greatly reduces the amount of books I need to carry around.

The best Bible study software experience available.

2017-12-21

Faster/deeper study of passages that I'm teaching/preaching on.

Pros

- Vast libraries available - Sync between desktop and mobile - Incredible amount of features - More resources regularly added

Cons

- Often slow/clunky performance on desktop. This is how it goes sometimes when you have a massive library, but this has been an issue for many years.
