Pros

Multiple functions is another great quality about this software. It can be as sophisticated or simplistic as you need it to be.
All the staff at By the Book has always been courteous and helpful and patient with me. I enjoy the fact that I have worked with all the staff and feel that I know each one.
They have always been friendly and very helpful when I call with questions. The software was very user friendly when setting it up for our needs and is very user friendly when entering data.

Pros

I am still discovering Servant Keeper and the things I can do, BUT my experience has been GREAT. The HELP DESK staff are patient and excellent teachers.
This is a wonderful program that I have used for more than 10 years. The people at Servant Keeper are wonderful to work with.
EVERY time i call for assistance EVERY person i speak with is super friendly, helpful and always helps me find a resolution (and the product is sooooo good I really don't have to call in that often!).

Cons

Having to enter each child individually (does not work with out reservations system). Inability to check a student into a program before the start time is inconvenient.
The only con I have is the lack of knowledge in me, of what this program can really do.
Generally unhappy, poor forms; not wysiwyg. Expensive - also takes a long time to load (memory hungry).

Cons

Steps to Merging duplicate entries or files can be very confusing. Customizing entry fields in the membership is difficult.
The field names can be a little confusing (E-mail vs Email, etc. The ministry names (attributes) are a little challenging to work with.
How difficult it is to go through all the steps necessary to find necessary donors, plus running all necessary donors after the first of the year to send for their taxes.

Overall we are delighted with the Roll Call product in comparison to the Church people management system we were using. For a congregation with about 200 members this is an ideal system. It is very budget friendly and we are not paying for data management that we are not using. The switch to Roll Call was quite easy as Customer support quickly answered or solved all questions /problems in the transition....

I have needed to call the customer service help desk many times and EVERYTIME they are so helpful and very friendly. They have made the dreaded customer service call and unexpected pleasure. Thanks Help Desk Team!

Pros

Its very user friendly. It did not take very long to get used to all the functions.

Cons

The only function I still struggle with is the difficulty of groups keeper. I wish it was a little easier to pick and choose what you want to search and report.

Help Desk support seems like it will come in handy; first experience very positive; worked with CSR who was very customer oriented. Sales person - CSR very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Will be learning a lot more about software over next few weeks as we plan to roll out directory and member update capability to congregation.

Cons

Could include a clearer step 1, step 2, step 3 set of instructions.

Servant Keeper customer service is second to none. Even though there is a help guide available to all, We pay the extra fee to be able to call the help desk at any time. It's totally worth it. They walk me through each step every time I call about something. Most of the time my wait time is short.

Pros

It's very user friendly and easy to navigate.

Cons

I would like for there to be a level of cost in between the Level 1 for 3 users and Level 2 for 30 users. Maybe a level for 10 users?

Once you get familiar with Servant Keeper it is easy to use. your initial data base set up is lengthy, but it is easy to keep is updated. We use our information track attendance, Bible class roll sheets, Care Group lists, and the list is unlimited. I recently updated our version and the newer one is a little harder to get around in, but hopefully I'm adjusting!

Pros

Ease of use, and great customer service. Reports of all kinds are quick and simple to create. It's impossible to choose a favorite feature. Publishing member directories is easy-peasy. Annual contribution statements -- which used to be a labor intensive nightmare -- is mostly just a matter of a few clicks now. SK emails the contribution statements, eliminating a lot of time, drudgery, and postage costs. There are some sophisticated options that are very simple to use, such as mail merge. The contribution keeper is straightforward, very clean and simple, minimal clicks make quick work of entering contributions.

Cons

I don't care for the music they play on hold when I call the Help Desk. That's really the worst thing I can think of.

Frustration with no support without spending tons of money.

Pros

Fairly easy to use - again - unless you run into trouble and then need support. After having difficulties with the support issue - the cons outweigh any pros.

Cons

SUPPORT! Non-existent unless you expend tons on support package or price PER phone call - unacceptable. Because of the lack of support I honestly cannot recommend this product to anyone.

Quick ways to create reports. I like the opening screen of birthday, anniversaries, etc. It's great to be able give a member a quick call and give them a greeting. People appreciate the thought and it's so easy because the program gives me the info in one quick screen shot.

Pros

User friendly!!!! And if I get in a bind I call support. They are always quick to help me figure out what is wrong. Usually it's the space between the chair and the keyboard (lol).

We needed an affordable cloud based church database to replace our old service based program. This was pretty good for the money. The app is good and reports are easy once you train and practice.

Pros

The app is very helpful. We are learning to customize reports easier. We like the cloud alternative. Event Bright integration is great.

Cons

Setting up the groups are a little clunky at first. White glove transfer wasn’t as seamless as promised. It doesn’t interface with our One Call Now system, so we are having to update two systems.

If there are and there will be multiple things I didn"t understand. I just pick up my phone and call the HELP LINE, and the PERSON I speak has always been able to assist me with my needs.

Pros

The tool bars are easy to navigate and understand.

Cons

A lot of information can be stored in SK making you really have to look and think hard before calling HELP DESK.

We've been using Servant Keeper for about a year and find it meets all of our needs.

I have used a different software program at two other churches, and Servant Keeper is so much easier to learn/use that I would highly recommend it. About a month ago I discovered a simple problem but hesitated to call the Help Desk to try to get it corrected because of bad experiences in the past when I had to call the other software company. However, today I called SK and was on the phone for almost 50 minutes talking with Brandi. She was GREAT!!! So patient and polite!!! And the problem was solved! Yay!

Servant Keeper has been helpful and they are very patient with me, even though I am technology challenged at the age of 62, I never feel judged, even with the simplity of the program.

Pros

I can access Servant Keeper from my phone anytime and anywhere and being in the ministry that is crucial for me and my husband, Senior Pastor, and our Ministry staff.

Cons

If I have a con, I just call the help desk and they walk me through anything I am having problems with, and therefore my problems/cons have been solved. Bottom line, I can't think of a con.

It keeps track of all of our data entries. SK is our database for everything so we benefit from it daily! I don't think we could properly run our office without Servant Keeper.

I like all of the services it provides. It is easy to use and when I don't know something I love being able to call the Help Desk. They are very knowledgeable. The software has so much capabilities. I am hopeful it will continue to grow!

We are needing to update our data base for new directories for the church and this was awesome, because the whole parish could help by updating their information and I didn't have to do it all.

Pros

Ease to use the different features. Can't wait to see what all it can do. Would like all my programs to be this easy even though I have had to call the help desk a lot, but everyone has been so helpful through this whole process.

Pros

It is pretty to use, I do have problems when a donor calls and would like totals of what they have donated. The program is a little difficult to follow; I usually have to call for assistance and of course the staff is always ready to help, very professional and patient.

There are so many reports and options, and some of our staff (myself included) sometimes cannot see the forest for the trees. We try to make a task or getting a report harder than it has to be. A call to the help desk and we quickly get an answer.

Pros

The ease of use! The presentation of the information. The huge array of reports and reporting options available. The integration with email is fabulous. The merge feature is so easy. Love how you can perform a quick sort on so many of the reports--the information is always right on hand with just a few keystrokes! Our clergy cannot say enough good things about the mobile app--they use it practically daily. Everyone in the office loves using this program!

The donation tracking and the membership tracking.

Cons

Many of the features are difficult for me to use. I get a lot of help from the SK phone support. The system can do a lot more than I'm aware of. So, when an question comes up about SK ability I call the support line.

Pros

Extremely easy software to use. Easy to navigate around the modules. We purchased the Administrative/Membership/Contributions module. Love the Contribution reports! The Help Desk personnel is easy to deal with, although I only had to call them once. We are in the process of purchasing the Child Check-In module and are expecting it to be just as excellent.

Cons

Cannot think of anything I do not like. I had only one issue and the Help Desk sent me a file to download, which solved my problem.

The book does not explain as easily as making a phone call to customer service. I was first in the queue for my last two calls and did not wait but a couple of minutes. Kelly and Diana took care of my problem in less than 10 minutes. They were excellent! It's so refreshing not to go through many automated numbering processes.
