Ease of use, reports robust, ability to ask donor to cover fees, custom fields in various areas to cover what the database doesn't.

Cons

Cost per person instead of range, no user forum or place to add suggestions for improvment in an easy and transparent way, password functionality misfunctions, would like to see Salsa Engage more user friendly like Constant Contact in terms of creating a newsletter or fundraising page from template, linking membership to gifts, no automatic save function, or reminder to save;

Salsa Smart Start Fundraising is our best practice program where you'll work with a fundraising expert to create an email welcome series for new supporters, an e-newsletter, online giving forms and solicitation emails. Salsa Scholars is our e-learning platform which provides users with easy hands-on interactive training for Salsa Engage and Salsa CRM. Salsa Scholars is self-paced and includes certifications. We welcome feedback from our clients and we do incorporate client suggested enhancements into our new releases. You can send suggestions for enhancements to Customer Support or submit through our Salsa Support Center. We are incorporating templates for emails, e-newsletters and online forms which will be available in our next release (end of July 2017). Fabulous!

Pros

Excellent data setup, very easy to customize to needs with forms and additional customizable slots, great canned queries and easy to manipulate advanced queries and the ability to get accurate data results.

Cons

I really can't report any cons about any of the features of DonorPro as we are just so happy to have a database that meets our needs and gives us accurate data.

Great product, could use a few tweaks

There are some things (like event registrations) that don't work as well as we would like them to (you can't delete people who cancel attendance at a free event, and there is no way to pull all the info for registrants and guests in just one list), but hopefully those will be fixed soon.

Pros

easy to use, great advocacy tool, great statistics/reports, easy to share on social media

Cons

formatting emails can be difficult if you want to include photos, event registration is a little clunky, hard to get issues resolved through customer support tickets sometimes

A full-service CRM worth considering

Aside from that it is a fairly straigthforward platform that allows for coordination between your email marketing, fundraising, and advocacy.

Pros

Can create custom roles and permissions, organize constituents and users by chapters.

Cons

Reporting is not the easiest and a lot of the report display in the browser and are not immediately exportable. The aggregate reporting is powerful but finicky - if any column is out of order the whole report is broken.

We had Salsa Classic before and it worked well, but this has more capability and the fundraising is integrated. Our data migration has not begun and it's about a month past when we were told it would happen.

We also use the Event Management module - while a little cumbersome at first, this module allows us to extract the data in a more efficient manner when soliciting and prospecting for future events.

Pros

I like the fact that Constant Contact is connected - less data entry errors when capturing info.

Cons

Running queries - this aspect is not intuitive to me. I often find myself asking colleagues or the help desk for assistance.

Would say it is an ok software. Haven't used many others so I don't have a lot to compare to. We continue to use it despite having some issues. Luckily support is very responsive.

Has many features and is a great all in one product to link with Salsa Engage, many custom data options and searches/reports

Cons

Cumbersome interface, some things are not intuitive, Some issues uploading existing lists and viewing groups

With features to support online fundraising, email blasts, email campaigns, social media integration, and event ticketing - on top of providing supporter tracking database abilities- SALSA is exactly what I need.

Pros

Options for all my needs: CRM database, online fundraising, email blasts and campaigns, event ticketing and more.

Cons

I am constantly 'saving' information so I don't lose my drafted email language or fundraising appeals because they have not installed an 'auto save' feature as of yet.

Tracking donors easily, easily sending out communication.

Pros

Although as the administrator I am in the database daily, everyone on my team can easily find what they need and update donor profiles, and find out information about donors.

Cons

Currently if I send out an email blast it does not add a note or activity to the donor's profile on the CRM side saying this was sent.

At first the CRM program is over whelming if you are not familiar with a CRM program. There are very good aspects to the program as well as a few downfalls (most of which can be solved by research).

Pros

I appreciate these features: donor cultivation, tasks, custom fields, finance summery options (batches etc), custom appeals and campaigns.

Cons

The forms are prehistoric compared to other email marketing products (such as constant contacts). Because of the merge of Donor Pro and Salsa, I have to manage three separate accounts (including merchant services) which can take a lot of my time.

If you are going to use Salsa, be sure you have plenty of time to learn the program. There are so many features that it can be daunting, but very useful once they are learned. Be sure you will use the program often as you will otherwise find yourself re-teaching yourself the features. If you make the conversion, make sure your continuant information is VERY organized. Time is of the essence, the program is good for multiple users but each user must be taught (which also takes time) how to best utilize the program to benefit each other.

This is the third organization I've worked for using Salsa and the second that I've led the transition from a different system.

Pros

The ability to create processes for cultivation and other engagement activities is invaluable and makes managing a growing team of fundraisers far easier.

Cons

Salsa CRM being a newer product that was based on the DonorPro platform, the manual wasn't immediately updated to reflect the online, cloud-based product.

The interface is great, and Salsa support is generally really good in getting back to me when I submit a ticket.

Cons

Some databases have a click and drag option for their filters, and while Salsa does this to an extent, not all of the filters are available in different queries or reports.
