Pros

It is a comprehensive tool that we can use to communicate with our congregation on multiple levels. It is complex but the on-going training makes it user friendly. It is a tool that helps us to be more effective in multiple ways.

Cons

They are literally a phone call or email away.

Just starting with Seraphim. The support has been very good!

very solid management / communication tool

Pros

I like the fact the end user interface is so user friendly!

Cons

As much as I like the software, setup can be confusing. Many of the admin screens look a lot alike but do totally different things. Having to go to 3 or 4 different tiles to set things up can be confusing at first

Seraphim is probably the easiest church management tool a small or medium sized church could start.

And while it is not a "feature," having all of the different elements of church management under "one roof" greatly simplifies administration.

Cons

Possibly related to the Silverlight platform is the little irk that the dashboard is not responsive and therefore requires a minimum monitor size of around 17" to access all the tiles and fields.

Makes managing my mid-sized church a breeze!

Pros

The features are so valuable like on-site attendance tracking, volunteer scheduling and reminders, maintaining various group membership info including contacts.

Cons

Sometimes the features aren’t very intuitive. You have to search for some of them, but customer support is very helpful.

All of our info is in one spot. Easy access from anywhere.

Pros

I love that I can find everything I need in one place instead of searching through different databases or files.

Cons

Some of the process didn't make sense to me at the beginning but now that I use it regularly it is easier to remember the steps.

It's good at what it does, and has plenty of room to grow.

Pros

Directory/Profiles/Groups are very easy to use and very intuitive. Events and Facilities are very flexible.

Cons

There are some glitches and bugs that creep about once in a while. But with excellent support, it's rarely an issue. Some aspects have fewer features than one might expect, for instance the mass-mailing aspect of it. But they take feedback towards future features, and are constantly improving.

The ability to take attendance of our Small Groups separately, Safe Check-In, emailing and texting directly from the program.

Pros

Because it's web-based, others can use it. This will move our church forward and bring us more up-to-date.

Cons

I've experienced the process of on-boarding and training to be very time-consuming and complicated.

An all in one tool for managing people, facility, finances and other resources

The ease of use/engaging user interface that make not only the app easy to use for the generational congregation but on the back end admin side of things.

Cons

Sometimes it seems like some of the additional layers of functions or features are not as readily visible or as easy to understand.

This company truly cares about customers

I once had a problem with a smartform for a large event we were hosting and the PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY spent time out of his weekend to make sure it was solved (Saturday and Sunday).

Pros

Their customer service is second to none!

Cons

(To my understanding, they are fixing this by May 2017) Currently the software is completely cloud based and runs on Silverlight. It does not easily work with Chrome, although there is a workaround. Also, the display does not work completely on qualities less than 1080p. That was a bit of a hassle for some of our older monitors/computers.

Recommendations to others considering Seraphim

Try the program demo and give them a chance to come demo it for you in person, if possible. I wasn't sold on first glance, but they took the time to visit our church twice to demo it and prove they are serious about their customers. I was sold and can't imagine ever using another company.
