Pros

Contains the vast majority of required features to operate a successful e-commerce store. Nice layout, not too bulky, and sticks to what its good at.
The ability to customize reports in word is amazing. The team at Dear are still updating and improving the system.
DEAR is a fantastic system which will manage the inventory and sales/purchase process for various channels.

Pros

They have done a wonderful job in taking care of us from learning to use it to just small mistakes here and there. The support is outstanding.
Fishbowl is very user friendly, has great support, and great integrations with our other systems.
Our company evaluated about half a dozen different inventory management systems for features, support, ease of operation, price, etc. Fishbowl was the hands down winner, and remains the champion.

Cons

Over the past 6 months this has gone from bad to worse. The odd hang, became frequent hangs, then time outs on the server.
Frustrating, unsatisfying and I have real worries about the ability for the software to keep up with my business as it grows.
Often times I do run in to a problem, either I entered something wrong and can't fix it, or I need a bulk operation done and need support.

Cons

It is very frustrating when you are in the middle of something to have to force close the program and start over. This happens to everyone in our company so it is not user error or a computer error.
We have a repetitive problem with line items coming up as 0, which causes our orders to refuse to ship. It's time-consuming to repeatedly call to get them unstuck.
Horrible Company, they use to be good now they are just completely useless.

Inventory Management, tracking systems, and actualizing our COGS.

Pros

It is simple, easy to use, and has everything a inventory management software should have. This is a good ERP software for a business that is just starting up and getting their resources in order.

Cons

Report features are lacking and Fishbowl's simplicity can come back to bite you. Expect to buy some training for the modules within Fishbowl - some can be confusing.

Fishbowl is a solid product that's a perfect fit for small and medium sized companies.

It's really a great value compared to other ERP systems.

Pros

There's a lot more to Fishbowl than meets the eye. I strongly recommend on-site training. Fishbowl support team is excellent. Fishbowl is a great value.

Cons

Setting up plug-ins have been challenging. We're a Mac shop and there are a few issues with the client app, but in the end, Fishbowl's Mac application works just fine.

Excellent customer support on integration project

We were fortunate to work with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] in our integration effort connecting our new Shopify Ecom site to Fishbowl. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] took an active and very patient approach with our team as we figured out all the various configuration options. The fact that we could work with him over the span of several video conference calls to get everything set up properly made all the difference - [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has an excellent personality for this type of task, I highly recommend working with him.

Pros

Once we got our two disparate systems integrated the software worked well.

The user interface is difficult to navigate and make sense of

Cons

Reporting isn't very malleable (had to learn sql), for a company with inventory in it's name I am disappointed with the cycle count process and that you can only view inventory valuation for current date, could use better manufacturing scheduling

The software is easy to use, powerful in its functionality, and even helps out small companies.

The software has greatly streamlined and centralized our inventory management and purchasing systems.

Pros

The software streamlines a lot of decision making in terms of what stock is needed when. Even with our system where the majority of parts we have are non-sales items, being able to track a system from start to finish is incredibly helpful.

Cons

Our units involve a lot of custom features, and the software isn't as intuitive for situations like that. We don't carry stock of our final products, just our raw materials, and while the program is able to handle this, it's clearly not designed for that scenario.

Game Changer

We have implemented this software and are automatically loving it. Like any inventory management systems there will always be struggles with first implementing but we love this so far. It doesn't completely mesh with our system because of how we operate but we knew that from the beginning that no systems would.

Great for small company

Fishbowl is extremely responsive and has offered great support in setting things up.

Pros

I love that I can control everything that happens with my inventory and stock all through one system. It is also very easy to access the data and track orders.

Cons

It is difficult to customize reports and they are limited. I also had some problems connecting with quickbooks and getting all of my systems to stream properly.

Pros

Comprehensive inventory control. Pick, Pack, and Ship. Their customer service is excellent (especially Jason who went above and beyond with my Mac issues)!

Cons

Not web based. All of my business systems are completely web based and locationless. So I would love if they could transition and/or offer an option to do so with Fishbowl.

If you're using Quickbooks this product is easy to work with.

Pros

I like that this product works with Quickbooks, which I have used in several settings. I became familiar with the product because of the ability to have both systems work together.

Cons

I have had the same problems with Fishbowl that I had with Quickbooks. Customer service is sometimes not as informed as I expect them to be but overall I have had a positive experience.

In the knick of time!

Fishbowl Inventory was a great success in our first year of utilization. The biggest and easiest improvement was the vast reduction of manual order duplication, as we were able to have orders submitted from our website directly into Fishbowl, and then have sales orders pushed directly into Quick Books on the back end of the system. As we learn to better use Fishbowl, we are more accurate with reporting to our customer's accurate data, and also keep our sales representatives up to date with inventory levels, pricing, and order tracking on behalf of their customers. For the record - our small seed company grew with the help of Fishbowl Inventory!

Pros

We really like the data transfer capabilities with an API interface from our website order platform, and the data push into Quick books on the back end. So much time has been saved from manual data entry duplication. The ability to have multiple users from all over with remote hosting allows sales reps from TX to MT to place orders and see inventory availability prior to order placing. Having the opportunity to write our own I-reports to meet our specifications.

Cons

We haven't been able to make mobile applications work yet for our systems. We still have challenges with the real time tracking of inventory between locations with using bar-codes, scanners and mobile devices.

Fishbowl Works for Us

I've implemented about five ERP/MRP systems and this was the easiest of them all. Our team has picked up on it quickly and likes to use it. Very user friendly.

Pros

The software is easy to use and intuitive. Unlike SAP and others, a new person can jump in and start using the software day one. Things are easy to find and the learning curve is days not months. A system the people won't use is worthless.

Cons

Can't think of anything...does what we need it to do.

It is a great software and has many features. It is user friendly and customer support is great. The trial period was very helpful and allowed us to practice on hand.

Cons

It is not specific to food manufacturing, so it made it a little difficult to adjust. There are other software systems in the market that are specific to food manufacturing and ability to add recipes and change them, which fishbowl did not have.

Used a few different versions of this at different companies. It is one of the more straight-forward ERP systems out there. The functionality and customization is low, but still has everything the next tier up has.

Very easy to use and cost effective. For the $, hard to beat. While there may be most elaborate systems out there, FB provides great ease of use and their support team, especially Travis give great support when the inevitable problem rears it's ugly head.

This software can cover every single thing you can think of regarding Inventory Management System, without complex workarounds.

Cons

Users can't use the system right away, it will require some training before users can use the system efficiently. However, this is a good indicator of its program and how the users will need to have knowledge of managing inventory systems and apply it in the software.

I'm a first time user of Fishbowl. I manage our broker network and rely on Fishbowl for sales reporting. It's led to a lot of time manually adjusting numbers on reports that other systems I've worked with in other jobs have never had a problem with.

Pros

It's fairly intuitive once you're in it. You can find the customer fairly easy.

Cons

The biggest hurdle is the reporting. There are too many issues to rely on the reports for accuracy. It's a slow moving system that lacks some of the common features I'd expect to see in software used by a supplement company

The Way Software Should Work

If you are a small business manufacturer, this is the system for you. Don't even question the price. It is 1/10 the price of "enterprise" systems with all the features you need. If it sounds like I'm a fan-boy, I am. I love it when software works the way it should.

Pros

The program is intuitive and extremely in depth. We a food manufacturer (coffee roaster) and we invoice through Fishbowl. We are not yet using the mobile app, so I can't talk about that. Unlike our accounting system (brand Q), one module smoothly integrates with the next. It is easy to administer and our users just get it. It is the standard by which other database systems should be measured. The integration with Quickbooks is painless. Fully automated and has never, never failed. I have not had one single

Cons

Their chat support isn't the most knowledgeable. They do have the option of custom fields, but there isn't the option to make some fields visible/invisible. The server occasionally locks up, however, all you need to do is restart. No fuss.

Great Inventory Software for blending eCommerce and wholesale orders

We have used Fishbowl in our corporate warehouse for over 5 years. Fishbowl makes processing both eCommerce and wholesale orders easy and organized. It also makes purchasing inventory a breeze with in depth historical reporting and sales forecasting. I would also highly recommend investing in the Janam handheld scanner running Fishbowl mobile software; makes cycle counts hassle-free. There is a slight learning curve, but is still much easier than other inventory systems we've used in the past.

Pros

Best part of Fishbowl is their reporting. Being able to analyze past purchasing and sales reports to better forecast inventory movement is crucial and Fishbowl nails it. I also like that they have a direct import and export function to link with our eCommerce site.

Cons

The menu and navigation can seem a bit convoluted, but I'm convinced this is the case with any software boasting so much functionality.
