Deputy Tutorials - Employees tasks

Video Transcript

Speakers in this video: Jimmy (GetApp) and John (Deputy)

John: When Bob finishes his task, he can confirm that it's done, and we have a record of it that we can pause and manage here to say, "This person completed this task on this day" which is great. And once you hit save, a blank sheet pops up and you can create all your tasks right at one time. So after your task, you're set up. You can also go into news feed. Now, everybody, most employees, most people are glued to their phone these days, so news feed gives you a way to really engage your staff. Whether you're using an Android or iPhone, this will push notifications directly to the app so you can really share important things or just create that sense of community within your team. So, let's create a new post.

So, this one will go to all locations, but you can also select individuals if there's managers we need to speak to. We can just click the manager's names. But we'll send this out to everyone. And then we'll say this is a new safety article that came out, and we want to make sure that everybody gets a chance to read it. And you can add any media. So JPEG or PDF files, and you can click right into here, which will make it really nice. So, let's see what we've got.

So we'll attach the new screenshot, and your employees will be able to see this from the desktop or from their mobile app. And this is really important, so we want to make sure that we require confirmation. So after they read it, they have to confirm they read it. And if we get audited in the future, we can actually pull a report and say, "All of our staff read or saw this document" and we are complying with the law, which is great.
So we'll post that up, and we're good to go. So now, we've taken some time to create tasks for employees and to really communicate and engage our employees using the news feed. So now that we've done that, our SaaS are probably ready to come in and clock in and clock out.

There are four ways that we can do that. So we spoke about them a moment ago, but you can text in, responding to the shift, saying that we're starting the shift. You can use the mobile app, which will do a GPS location, and attach that location to the timesheet.

You can do it directly from the desktop, so for me, we just click start shift and the shift will be started.
