The thing I liked most about the program is it is easy to use and if an issue arrives the customer service is amazing and excess able immediately.
I love the ease of getting reports for my IFTA information. Anytime I have had to call I get great help.
The daily logs are easly to find and down load. The tracking works awesome, the fact that all my info is at my finger tips so i don't have to walk to each truck is awesome.
Otherwise, he did not mention any changed on my previous contract, but the price. I regret to sign it because I was completely deceived by him.
Reports difficult to combine for a full-service report (such as an IFTA audit). The dashcam feature is annoying, it doesn't always work, and right now is out of service.
Very slow to implement changes/fixes/new features. Mobil App for Manager has terrible units view (Grouping units under one dot its craziness).

Charles: Hi, I'm Charles, co-owner of North Georgia Tank Lines, and I'm giving Motive a four out of five. Actually, I had a different ELV company before Motive, and it was terrible. They could never get the equipment working right. They could never send me the cables right. And I received a phone call from somebody from Keep Trucking, which is what it was before Motive. I liked what he said, and so I ditched the other one and went with Motive. I went with Motive because it was easy, because everything worked well, because the equipment and the connections were good and easy to put together. And bottom line, everything worked the way they said it was going to work. Actually, it was quite easy to get started. I explained it to my team. It took them a while to get used to it, but the actual bringing online and getting it done was quite easy. I would recommend Motive quite handily for anybody in the trucking business because the systems that they have set up are all very handy and very usable, and I've been quite pleased that I made the decision to go that way.

Peter M.: My name is Peter. I am the partner relations and regulatory compliance manager for a family owned tracking company. I give, KeepTruckin five stars out of five. For more reviews like this click the link below. Before we started using KeepTruckin, we were using Omnitracs XRS. We were actually four years into a five year contract when we started up with KeepTruckin. We've kept in contact with ELD providers, even though we were in a contract to see what developments were made. KeepTruckin contacted us as a followup and it was perfect timing for us to be open to a new ELD provider. They had some amazing new features that they had added since the four years we had originally looked at KeepTruckin and they obviously have continued to make improvements to their product unlike our current service provider. We decided to move to KeepTruckin for a variety of reasons. I have to start out with the fact that there was an excellent salesmanship explaining all the different features and benefits from their product that they had made over the years. It wasn't high pressure, but it was enough contact that it was obvious that the person was trying to help our company. It was interesting because during the process of talking to their individual, we had one of our trucks get into a major accident. It actually overturned. The inexpensive dash cam that was in the windshield was not operable. So none of this was caught on video. The driver was out of route on a non-truck route. It became obvious that KeepTruckin integrated with their dash cams and the fact that they have superior to what we were using at the time tracking of drivers and alerts that come from it, that was a major selling point. They offered us a great deal and we decided to make the change before the end of our contract of our current supplier. It was extremely easy to make the change. KeepTruckin definitely made it easier for us. Their technical support people are amazing. I wouldn't even allow our prior service provider for our drivers to talk to them because it does complicated matters. Have no qualms about having our drivers contact directly KeepTruckin support, and that made it a lot easier as we're implementing it. Their equipment was easy to switch out and we had no glitches or problems as we were making the installations in about 15 or 16 of our trucks. So it was a fairly easy process. The training to get drivers initially started, took about an hour to two hours depending on the driver and they were up and running. So we installed the equipment, made the switch and our drivers were using it as they took off on their trips. Definitely it's my nature to use all the different features to their fullest, explore the product and what it could do for you. The safety features are definitely a added benefit. If you incorporate it with your dash cams, you're able to look at real time events and videos of them. They make a lot more sense than just getting an alert or a report that something happened. There's a safety scoring system for drivers. I would definitely implement that. our drivers have embraced that. There's a little bit of a competitive aspect to that. That makes it a positive experience. Reach out whenever you have questions to their customer and technical support people. You talk to someone right away. You don't have to wait for a callback or a response. They're knowledgeable. They get back to you quickly when they need to get back to you. So definitely use that to the fullest. The added thing was we integrated it with our dispatch software. That is a tremendous value to us when we can have that two-way communication between KeepTruckin and our dispatch system, not just to send dispatches, but also to automate the arrival and departure times of shippers and receivers, as well as communications and document management and exchange.

You never stop paying…….

Great tech. Poor customer service.I will not use them again.

Great technology. Solid reporting. Rear and front facing cameras.

Cons

On July, 20, 2023, my truck my destroyed in a fire. I had a Motive system in that truck. A short time later, I contacted Motive and requested to cancel my service. Today some three months after my truck was destroyed,I get a call from an employee at Motive who told me that the only way that I could cancel my service, was to close my business and send them a letter from the FMCSA. I explained that I was not closing my business , I just wanted to cancel my service. I became frustrated and he got his lacey panties in a wad because I told hi that I thought it was bullshit to pay for a service that you don’t receive. The bottom line is that I have to pay this bunch $300+ a quarter until March of 2025. That is just nuts.

Like I said it's very easy to use and the logbook never glitches and the camera always has quality and easy to get a video when you need one

Pros

The app and the devices never give me any problems as long as been using it. I prepaid for two years and now I don't have to worry about any monthly payments.

Cons

My old app use to let me change the status from driving or to pc. Motive makes u stop for like 2 seconds before you change toys status.

The Good, the Bad and the Evil of Motive

Early on they were great, had contacts in the business, would promote them on my Hotshot-USA Resource Network as an affiliate, I found them new business and told my members about them. Earned commissions that they told me were on the way. Got one but never got the rest. When I asked about them they could not tell me anything. As a ELD gateway, they are the premium service and the standard for the trucking business. They have a lot of great features, and fairly easy to use. They may just be too big and global , and need to organize a little better. I like them but I am always looking for another partner to work with, to promote and to eventually use for my trucks. I think they are overpriced and have lost the connection with some of their market.

Pros

When you are out on the road and need customer support, they are always a phone card away and very knowledgeable help. Have all the features and more that a Trucking Business needs, and should implement into their business. Keeps records, reports, and other features so that Governmental agencies, DOT, FMCSA, Insurance entities can share your records.

Cons

They lock you into service, too expensive, when you need reports or features such as fuel logs, they charge you more and lock you further into the program. When you do pay for an added feature, that you need immediately, such as Fuel Hub, they take their time to install, then they never show you how to have your drivers log in their fuel purchases. When you work with them to promote their product and company, the contacts you have just quit and leave, leaving you without warning and no way to talk to someone. You call and call, leave messages with other departments, personal and no one ever returns your phone calls. Slow to respond or even call back when you need them, however product support and technical support is top notch. They are an Indian based business and most of their support staff is hard to understand or communicate with at times.

Overall Motive has solved our needs to remain compliant with FMCSA and to monitor our fleet.

Pros

The biggest pro for me is the ability to self-install all Motive equipment in house and not deal with the headache of trying to schedule Motive, trucks and employees in the same place at the same time.

Cons

The biggest downside to Motive is their rewards program. There is absolutely zero customer support to enable you to retrieve your earned rewards that show "pending approval" for an undetermined period.

Pros

I used to sing their praises - if they USED to be a solid platform, then there must be some remaining good bones in there somewhere. They need to get back to basics like knowledgeable customer service. It's super frustrating to call a support line and regularly end up telling the support staff "Yeah... that "solution" isn't going to fix this particular issue" and repeatedly be correct. Maybe they can find their way back to the stellar company they once were?

Cons

Degrading support, connectivity issues mean that logs get thrown out of compliance - having to edit and assign drive time after the fact doesn't help drivers keep track of their time, etc. Unreliable.

Overall motive is a decent system.The wifi is really the only big complaint I have with it.

Pros

It's relatively easy to navigate and works as it should.

Cons

The wifi they sell with your elog package is 0.5gb/month and it doesnt even come close to being enough data to run an elog for a month.Motive elog is the only thing I run on that tablet.The keep truckin/motive wifi doesn't work very well at all,I normally have to run it off the hotspot on my phone.

KeepTruckin/Motive The Worst ELD To Use In Trucking Business - BE WARNED!

KeepTruckin/Motive is the worst in the ELD business. Truckers please don't use them. If you think the system is bad enough, call customer service. Those people are the worst in dealing with customers. When they failed to electronically logged our unit, they continue to take our money under false pretense. It does not matter how many times you call the worse customer service company around, nothing is done. Our company almost lost our authority because the device was not electronically logging. This is the worst I have seen. They have now changed their name from KeepTruckin to Motive to let go the their bad reputation. That will not work because your system and bad customer service remain the same. They will unethically lock you in a 48 month contract even when they tell you that it's not a contract. I could never recommend KeepTruckin/Motive.

Pros

Nothing actually! They are the worst. I hear that they were the worst and We decided to give them a chance but they lived up to the bad name they usually get.

Cons

It did not electronically logged which is what we contracted for. Thats the requirement by FMSCA and they don't even care that they device is not doing what we are paying them to do. No matter how much we called and complained, they did nothing except for promises. If you want to BE IN PROBLEMS with FMSCA, you can use them.

Base System is good - but hot spot limit stinks

If it were not for this hot spot issue I would give the system 5 stars. The Customer Support agents do speak clear English, but they are not always able to help and follow through is not good. Still waiting for my hot spot issue to be solved and it has been "disabled". No internet access on the road is a huge hassle. There is a big discrepancy between what my device shows I have used as far as data, and the Motive accounting for my data use. Tablet shows a lower data usage than Motive, and Motive caps the use and then shuts off the data usage. The difference in usage is a whole gigabyte and that is a big difference.

Pros

Easy to use - Dashboard and document access is very handy. Knowing the fault codes are helpful in keeping the truck running better.

Cons

I was told that the hot spot would allow me to listen to Pandora and audio books as I had been. However, it is capped and not sufficient and no one from Customer Service has been able to help me and the Agent who was supposed to call me to fix my issue, has never called.

I'm grateful that they are always available - 24 hours a day every day of the year. Customer Service is typically very kind and happy to assist. It does a lot of things all in one program instead of needing additional products to accomplish your day.

Pros

The overall program is great. The reports are great and real-time tracking is amazing

Cons

I don't like the fuel program (which is important to me). There should be an easier way to make corrections than one entry at a time - very time consuming and usually makes for a bad day! But after it's completed, I'm grateful I don't have to do it all on graph paper with a pencil anymore!

Over-all the product has promise but there are some issues.

Overall, I feel like the product has a lot of good uses, and if it is what people purchase I do not feel that they will be slighted or taken advantage of. Some of the problems (GPS as previously mentioned) are annoying but it only affects the dashboard and not the logs so it is not deal breakingly bad.

Pros

I like the ease of customization and the ease of use. I can show someone how to use this product in 10min and expect that he or she will be able to do the bare minimum required of them with this. Or I can take the afternoon and show someone how to make it work for them personally and the best way for them to use it.

Cons

There are a lot of gaps in the GPS service. I notice at least 3 times a month, the gps stops tracking. It will then randomly pick up again. If it is satellite coverage, a better system is needed.

Love the product... just needs a few tweeks

I have used a few other systems and this is by far better and easier to use.

Pros

I love the ability to see my split log just by checking a box

Cons

1) It would be nice see my recap with out having to go into DOT inspection mode. It should be listed right next to the graph. 2) The times on the graph at the end of each duty status should be in minutes NOT percent of an hour. 3) It would be great if there was an external button a driver could hit to mark and save a video file. So, even if they are not involved in an incident they can go back and find the file to be reviewed and sent to the police or concerned parties. As it is now, unless there is a event detected ie: hard braking or cornering etc, it is almost impossible to find the video. For example, if parked in a dock or at a truck stop and driver sees another truck hit somebody else's truck or damages property, it would be nice to be able to retrieve that video file.

KeepTruckin is a great asset to any trucking company!

This product has kept us in compliance with the FMCSA and all DOT regulations concerning E-Logs and Hours of Service. I highly recommend it, and when our GPS contract with another company ends, we are planning to use KeepTruckin for our GPS needs.

Pros

This software makes it easy to keep up with where drivers are and what their hours of service are looking like. I am able to quickly check if they are on duty, off duty, or driving. We are able to ensure their breaks are taken on time, and that they don't driver over their allotted time.

Cons

The only con I have with this software is when you assign the unidentified driving time, it goes away after that. I wish their was a tab you could look at to make sure the drivers had accepted the time or still needed too.

Awsome. Very manager and driver friendly.

Pros

That minimal equipment is needed within the cab. Mobile devices, tablets, and computers are utilized without having to buy expensive onboard units. Being that the system operates off of an app on a mobile device updates are current, quick, and require no extra items to be purchased.

Cons

The system operates off of a cell signal. At times of poor service there might be a period of time where current updates are not seen until a signal is reacquired. This is minimal at best but does occur.

Not as advertised

Customer service seems outsourced, they don’t listen to what you’re saying just give out scripted answers. I received two DOT citations for log violations due to the device not staying synced to my iPad. Waited weeks for a replacement unit after demanding one from customer no service. I hope my company drops these and looks elsewhere.

Pros

It’s on my iPad that’s it. User friendly.

Cons

Doesn’t stay connected to iPad, gps is not concise.

Logging software for Trucking Company

Stated using Keep Truckin Software before any DOT mandates. Compared with a few other software providers and liked the functionality of Keep Truckin the best. Several or the other companies have fallen by the wayside. Keep Truckin keeps on rollinin.

Pros

Product is simple to use. It is a BYOD program. Updates are easy to install. I se the basic features to minimize the cost.

Cons

Being a small company, I have to pay for the service annually. Would prefer to pay quarterly. Some of the functionality was removed from service then added back for a higher fee.

Keeptruckin Cons and Pros

Overall it's a top ELD service provider in the country, and because it's large, it's very slow on new features and technologies. So if you are looking for stable software that works, here is it, but if you are looking to have it all in one, I will think twice and test competitors what will be the best option for you.

Pros

+ Interface + Integrations that works great for our customers and us + Easy to use for Drivers and main thing ELD Works great + Driver Mobil APP

Cons

- Cameras - Problems with them All the time - Cameras - 1-minute video Recovery cont convenient at all, Samsara with this better - Customer Support Could be better - Very slow to implement changes/fixes/new features - Mobil App for Manager has terrible units view (Grouping units under one dot its craziness) - When Tracked Truck + Tracked Trailer moving together you see 1 group with a number of UNITS instead of combined Truck + trailer unit with their numbers and Driver Name.

Easy to use

KeepTruckin has been a good product. I tried Rand McNally’s & it could not keep up with 2 drivers. Sent it back they sent me a new cord & it still could not keep up with team logs.

Pros

You do not have to be a computer genius to use KeepTruckin it is quite simple & doesn’t break down.

Cons

They seem to keep raising the price for what I can offering me other things which I am not interested in for more money.
