MasterControl has allowed us to replace book shelves of policy binders, file cabinets of employee training and competency forms. Staff can all access the same document at the same time instead of waiting for the binder to be free. Regulatory requirements are easy to track within the system.
This system is flexible enough for a any regulated industry. It includes a document management module, employee training module, Quality module that included Deviations, CAPA, Change Control, non-Conformance; Quality, risk management, etc.
The suite of modules has not been certified as HIPAA compliant, except for the Documents module. Full HIPAA compliance is on their timeline for 3rd quarter 2020.

It is great to have a one stop shop for all my quality needs- Complain Management, Change Control, Quality Events and more can easily be integrated together.
Overall I am quite happy with the system, but there are minor convenience features that would be beneficial. MasterControl is extremely responsive and proactive when it comes to adding improvements, however

We have been using MasterControl since 2016 and since then we have NEVER received an Audit finding (neither by our ~global customers, nor any regulatory body like DQS, district government or even FDA).I feel secure and relaxed, knowing our quality documents are in a secure, validated system that I can access from anywhere, and that they sit in a system even our customers and the regulators themselves are utilizing!As a Pharma/MedTech logistics company, an electronic QMS system is a necessity and we are looking forward to utilizing more innovations with our imminent move to the MasterControl Cloud, especially because of the very promising AQEM solution!
Document Collaborations, Deviation/CAPA forms, training structure (Course/Exam/JobCodes/Trainee) is excellent
Too many bugs in necessary utilities like Action Items and Extension Requests, Management of Change module not up to our quality standards, Jreports are very user unfriendly

I have been a MasterControl admin for over 8 years. From the start, it was apparent that MasterControl is super customer focused and wants their customer to succeed in implementation and beyond. Their support is much better than what I've experienced with other software vendors and they value feedback and suggestions from the customers.
I love that all of MasterControl's modules are connected. Document management, training management, and Quality Event Management all talk to one another and help to streamline our processes. It's also very easy for basic users to learn.
My biggest complaint has been the lack of flexibility in Quality Event workflows. This is being solved by the new Advanced QEM product, which I'm super excited about.

Overall experience has been very good. Overall it has allowed us to have a much better grasp on our quality management from the previous paper method.
The ability for tracking is great. We are able to link different types of forms together as needed.
Currently, the configuration and building of quality workflows is difficult to change. That is being changed soon with the release of AQEM though!

MasterControl overall has been a really great software. I feel confident that we are exceeding our document and quality management expectations in the food industry.
The software as an end-user especially the basic viewer is so easy to use and implement. MasterControl is the Lamborghini of Quality Managements Systems. I've used several of them and this is the only one that has everything you need to implement a fully digital software and meet all of CFR 11 requirements.
The implementation for the majority of the modules is long, this may be due to Covid 19.

MasterControl has given us a "one stop" approach for everything related to quality, documentation, and training. It keeps us in an audit ready state.
Once the system is configured and set up, the system manages a ton of work on behalf of document control administrators, training administrators, and everyone involved in quality management.
The standard forms are built to address all of the most complicated scenarios which results in a lot of "N/A" entries for unused portions. This is in the works to be address as I understand it.

Overall, MasterControl Quality Excellence has been a game-changer for our company as we grow and has helped us stay at the forefront or compliance. It has removed a lot of manual work and given us confidence in regulatory inspections.
MasterControl Quality Excellence (Qx) gives us the flexibility as a global organization to configure what we need, as we need it, without needing to edit code or re-validate the system. It allows us to manage compliance and track documents (with revision and access control), training, and quality events. In addition the system is hosted in the cloud, so we do not need to maintain our own infrastructure or IT team solely for the software. By being in the cloud, we receive frequent quarterly upgrades with new features, monthly defect patches, and global 24/7 availability. We also utilize the VxT validation tool, which cuts our quarterly upgrade validation time down to hours, and the customer support team is top-notch.
There are some quirks to the system that take some learning, but MasterControl has developed an excellent self-study library of courses to help. In addition, the older quality events module presented some configuration limitations that required us to adapt our processes to match MasterControl rather than the other way around. Fortunately, MasterControl's replacement of this module, Advanced Quality Event Management, just launched in 2024 and is alleviating this pain point.

Overall, my user experience over the past several years has been overwhelmingly positive.
The document control portion of MasterControl Quality Excellence is a large portion of my daily work and has made this process easy and convenient for management on my end as well as users in our remote locations around the world.
Increasing automation and decreasing repetitive button clicking processes would improve the overall user experience.

Interconnecting all apsects of quality management in one system, and allowing them to speak to one another. For example, a CAPA raised from an Internal Audit uses two different modules in the system, but the full traceability of the event remains linked.
MasterControl is a powerful system capable of total quality management if configured correctly. Each of the modules communicate with one another, making everything in the system fully traceable. MasterControl as a company is always innovating and looking for ways to streamline and improve the system.
We are on a cloud quarterly upgrade schedule. It would be nice if Cloud customers could opt for yearly upgrade to avoid the pains that come with upgrading a large system every three months.

I am a new sysadmin and am learning the process! The support team has been incredible in both my transition, as well as our transition from 2018.3-2023.3.
This has been imperative for document control and retention. Allows ease of use, compliance and availability for inspections from our regulatory agencies.

Training does not allow for open-ended review and comment. Exams are limited to multiple choice, true/false, matching, sequencing or numeric answers only.Users can be added to tasks without having roles assigned by a system administrator.

A total quality management system with all modules (Docs, Training, Change control, deviation, CAPA, Event, Market Complaint) integrated with each other. Best thing is E-forms-you can build any form that you use manually as electronic form with tracking. Best Validation support with TOQ and TPQ.
Bugs fix, Some times no workaround, just to toss around.

The seamless integration between process forms and the ability to link quality events, documents etc. This provides excellent ways of managing your quality processes
Currently we are using FBS forms, and although they are built on best practice, it does not fully match our process. The forms are not flexible enough to adopt to our process. Needs a lot of procedural controls instead of being able to provide the user with system support.

QPulse - Ideagen Quality Management product is a great tool for managing all aspects of quality and documents management. The software is interactive and user friendly, packed with useful features.
Lack of Dashboard in the desktop version. Creating new forms in occurances module in desktop version not usable - Yet to be fixed. Support team needs to be trained better to answer and troubleshoot end user queries.

Q-Pulse also offered robust reporting and analytics capabilities, providing us with clear, concise, and visually appealing reports. This made it much easier to communicate with other departments and higher-ups about our current state of quality and any areas that needed improvement.

EQMS supports our ISO9001 quality management processes, saves us time, and eases our communication with remote teams.
We've been working with Qualsys and EQMS for four years. The core modules are mature and feature-rich, they enable us to streamline our processes and document management requirements. The apps save us many hours of manual effort each time we use them. There is also a healthy pipeline of new features and enhancements. Perhaps the biggest strength of the software is the commitment from the Qualsys team to the success of their customers. Highly recommended.
The software has so many features and options that it can take a little while to set up, however the Qualsys team have offered us support to get this right for our implementations.

Working with Qualtrax has improved the laboratory's ability to get documents through the system, track tasks through workflows, and improve quality.
Since the implementation of Qualtrax software, my workload has decreased as well as mistakes.
We have used most of the features and have not found anything I don't like. Some of the items require some learning before use.

Saving time on the admin side of quality management, freeing up more time to carry out value adding activities and improvement projects.
The functionality it offers and the option to add more modules as time goes on and our confidence with the system improves.
Its can be quite difficult to setup and time consuming but support is there if needed. Once setup then the system takes little time to get around and operate.

Overall this system is very well put together and will organize company's quality system. Qualtrax customer service and tech support are always available.
This system has the option to attach Compliance Standards to documents and within workflows. It also has the capability to filter reports by Standards. Analyst competency is a big part of compliance. This system allows you to create trainings and tests schedules to maintain analyst's competency. Proficiencies (blind samples) can be tracked by workflows. Also Collaboration is critical in quality control....
I think that it would be helpful to have list custom field alphabetized. It would also be helpful to create a workflow instance URL links to allow the auditor see a particular workflow.

I really like how intuitive and user-friendly the platform is. It made managing quality processes and compliance tasks much simpler. The customizable features also stood out to me – I could tailor the system to match the specific needs of my organization. Overall, it helped us streamline our quality control efforts effectively.
One thing I didn't particularly enjoy about Ideagen Quality Management was the learning curve when first getting started. While the platform is user-friendly, there was still some initial adjustment needed to fully grasp all the features and customization options. However, once I got the hang of it, the benefits definitely outweighed this minor inconvenience.
