MiniTab is incredible... it flattens a decade worth of Lean Six Sigma Black Belt practice into a one-stop-shop calculator tool. If you're like me, then you've built hundreds of Excel tools from first-principles... which means your transition into Minitab should be fairly easy. As long as you take this product seriously, you'll be fine... but it's not meant for casual users.

Even understanding first principles of numerical management, this product can be a little disorienting at first. It's like a swiss army knife with a thousand tools... you're never quite sure where to find what you need. While the product integrates well with Excel, it can be easy to make a mistake in the way your data is formatted before entering. If you're working with someone who isn't at the LSSBB level, they literally won't understand anything about this product.

The software is easy to use, but also provides plenty of support/help resources. Provides the widest array of statistical analysis tools. The graphical outputs are amazing. I am able to constantly wow executive leadership with Minitab's control charts and other diagrams.

Although many options are available for individual users that make costs effective, justifying the cost of the software to my organization has been challenging.

Many statistical tools available, good customer support

New version (ver 19) is not backward compatible with older versions. Report Pad feature was removed in ver 19, so users are not able to summarize and report results within Minitab. New versions require you to export Minitab data, charts, analysis to another program (ex Word) to create a report. Report Pad information from files created in older versions does not display - creating a risk for regulated industries.

Provides the capacity for good overall data analysis including statistical analysis. Good software for beginners.

I don't have any major issues with Minitab however I feel that it's capabilities can become limited after a certain point.

It has lots of features and functions. I guess this software is all you need when it comes to data analytics and visualizations. Would definitely recommend it if you wanna make life easier, but it's also difficult for beginners to learn the software.

It is expensive software. Even though it provides a free trial of a month, that month would be consumed just to understand the software completely. It's overwhelming for new users. If there was a lite version with basic functionalities, made free for users, then that would be helpful.

Minitab is a user friendly statistical package that I used as a student studying development statistics. It was also required to use this software to complete research projects. It is definitely a software to use while you’re a student because of the ease of use of the statistical tests produced to complement your research papers.

I prefer other statistical software like SPSS when conducting research or analysis for research purposes. Minitab was no longer useful to me in the working world because other statistical packages were easier to obtain and carry out the same statistical tests plus more.

It is a program where basic statistics analysis and multivariate methods can be done, it has a wide range of options to analyze qualitative and quantitative variables

The versions of the program should be updated constantly to be on par with other programs and the function of exporting databases should be a little easier

Its statistics functions are diversified, practical and logical. It is very easy to import data into Minitab. Another amazing point is the Minitab book which contains very detailed information about how to work with the software. Even you don't have the book, you can always find support information on their website. Just google it and you're good to go.

The design is a little boring. It looks quite old-fashion and low-tech even though the software itself has amazing statistics and visualization tools.

I use this software to do basic statistical analysis. It's got a good graphical interface, and will handle most common tests. I got this primarily because it would do what I needed and I didn't have time to self-teach SAS or R.

It does lack the functionality of some more powerful statistical software packages. Guess that's a trade-off for the GUI.

Minitab, is a complete package for statistical and data analysis. It is easy to use and the contends on the support page is well written to understand.

The data sheet does not have many function as excel worksheet such as sort, filter.

1. Minitab provides most of the functions in my daily work. For example, Design of Experiments, gauge R&R, ANOVA, distributions fitting, hypothesis tests, regression, Power and Sample Size, and Assistant. 2. I like the Assistant function the most because it can help me choose a proper approach to analyze a data set. The results from the Assistant reports are also easy to be understood and clear. 3. After each analysis, Minitab output results by text and figures. This can help me to understand the physical significance of the results and to report/visualize the data/results to my manager.

Although Minitab outputs statistical results in plots and figures, the formats, fonts, and designs of the figures and the plots can be improved to be more aesthetic. Maybe Minitab's developing team can try to use more AI to improve the outputs of the plots and figures.

Minitab offers a very good end user experience for descriptive and inferential analysis. Also minitab product help tutorials are very good and well explained that cover most of the possible doubts. The interpretation of results that minitab provides on integral analysis like Capability analysis or hypothesis testing is very useful for sharing with management.

*Developing scripts on minitab is not as intuitive as it should be so doing repetitive task can be a headache. *Also querying data from an external data source could be easier, at this moment requires a well defined DSN file and adjusting filters on data to retrieve could be also easier. *There are not enough modeling methods on minitab

Whatever the data, we can easily manage it and get the statical analyze through this minitab software.

If the project is closed, some time its confusing which is saved, Weather the project or worksheet on the default name. Its occurs only the system power goes unexpectedly.

This software is really easy to use and gives you enough information about your input data to help you make the right decisions. I used this tool during my undergraduate course and didn't stop since then. You have many analytical options in the same tool and can even make graphs using the software, that can be used in presentations. Everything can be done using the tool and if you don't know how to use any analytical tool, it is easy to find explanation about it.

Sometimes when you are working in an analysis that has a lot of data the software closes and you lose all your work. Would be nice if the software automatically saves progressive work, so if something like this happens, you won't lose your work.

I have been using this software since back in my college days, and it was a serious competitor to Excel. Obviously both have their perks and benefits, but I find Minitab to be better most of the time. There are a lot of tutorials in case one isn't familiar with it, which is great for first learning the software or improving over time.

I have had a hard time in the past importing data, and have had issues getting plots that I need. There should be a wider variety of models. Some graphs, especially ones with lots of data, can be difficult to read. I have experienced this across most data software I use, but it is still a con.

The data visualization is beyond amazing. It is color-coded and in 3D. Regression analysis is included in the data analysis so it is easier to sort variables. There are a lot of statistical analysis available so this application is great for analyzing big and complicated data.

The price is a bit high and licensing is difficult. When purchased for corporate use, you need to connect to the company's VPN in order to use it. You can't use it offline.

Minitab helps me rapidly make the statistical analysis. It just requires basic level of statistics. You can easily copy the results to word file or print by simple clicking. The results are simple enough to be understood by non-experts. You can easily move columns and modify the data in worksheets.

The graphs attraction is limited and generally we have to re-plot the data in another program.

One of the most likeable feature of Minitab according to me is "Deriving Tolerance Limits for Non-normal distributions"

One thing which I feel that Minitab lacks is feature related Multivariate data analysis like Batch Evolution Models, contribution plots etc.

Minitab is a great software for statistics. I highly recommend it for my students during their last year for their graduation projects. The software is pretty simple and there are many tutorials available that help the students while using the software. Importing data is so simple and generating graphs is very easy. There are a lot of statistical tools available but I like to use ANOVA and student-t test.

Nothing so far but sometime I find it hard when it comes to printing data and reports

It takes less space and doesn't slow down the pc.

The data that are needed needs to be imported sometimes it takes data not in a proper way, so it requires correction.

Minitab has a lot of great features that are quite accessible with little to no training with the software. Obviously some level of statistical training is necessary to work any statistics software, but the user interface is simple and well guided. I was a big fan of this software for my statistical analyses when I was in undergraduate.

The statistical tools are relatively basic. I believe there are competitors that can handle larger datasets more routinely and powerfully. For individual dataset analysis, this is a great tool, but to scale up and run a business around a software, there are solid competitors that can be upgraded to.

It is breathtaking the ease at which the program provides valuable information for the user. When provided with quality data. The user can easily obtain simple statistics analyisis, correlation between variables, predictions for later outcomes, very clear graphs, many types of regressions etc. Information about the reliability (statistical residual analysis) of the results depending on the input data. You can develop a DOE (design of experiments) to find the most impactful variable(s) and manipulate it/them to obtain desired results in whichever process.

The organization for various sheets could be improved but in general it is a very friendly software easy to understand a few hours into its use.

It is a really good software to do some statistical and exploratory data analysis for beginners. It get the basic job done like creating a normal distribution, box plots and also finding the P values.

It does not have a lot of features like the new softwares in the market today like R, Python etc. It should get a revamp to stay in this market.

It is a great way to store the data we need to track. It has a lot of features we do not use that could be very useful to others.

Easy to make mistakes, sometimes doesn’t save. Isn’t visually appealing or interesting (for what we use it for)
