Avoid
Nothing, training videos are poor, disengaging. The sales team tell lies and you would be much better off going elsewhere.
Netsuite miss-sell their services, "we are an all in one solution" - Can you link to my bank - NO, can you link to my Worldpay account - No Can you link to anything - No

Great product.
Great interface and SaaS savvy. User friendly and I enjoy having the dashboard functionalities. Internal control/segregation of duties so a step up from QuickBooks.
Complexity in Sales Order (link to SFDC) and Revenue Recognition methodology set up. Sometimes the customer support are not subject experts so it's hit or miss depending on who you get.

It's been a great thing for our business in terms of capturing and retaining critical information. It's not as versatile as we need for the variety of business units that we own and operate specific to e-commerce.
It allows us to capture a lot of information and create searches to quickly gather data. The historical data and ability to link up to 3rd party distributors is also efficient for us.
We have had to create a lot of custom fields to make the manufacturing part of Netsuite work for us. And when we run in to issues, the support is not as effective because they're not able to troubleshoot specific to our needs. So, anywhere we've gone custom we end up on our own.

Overall the more I use NetSuite the easier it becomes to get the info I need to my team.
I love how easily you can customize NetSuite to your needs. We use NetSuite every day to help log task/emails/sales/activity/etc.
NetSuite can be difficult to learn at the beginning. You also have to pay for an outside service to link you emails from Outlook to NetSuite. The service is about $10/month per user.

As an ERP, it integrates more of our business processes vs the standard CRM, so our sales team is able to see real time inventory and availability of our parts. Additionally, the integration into UPS helps us track packages and communicate shipping information.
The support, report usability, and customer service. They sell support packages with the initial package and are unwilling to help with basic issues. The knowledge base is very general, and if you send in an email ticket, you generally receive a link to the general knowledge base articles.

There were too many bugs in what could have been a powerful CRM system. We ultimately switched to a different CRM.
It is very comprehensive and our company had the ability to customize it for our needs and sales process.
The customizations we had them make had a lot of bugs. I could spend 10+ minutes filling out a record for an opportunity and lose the entire thing because one of the fields would cause an error. The link between the calendar and email was flawed as well and didn't always work. Emails sent through the CRM would get blocked by SPAM blockers often.

Couldn't operate without it
The search for clients/prospects is fast. I can be on the record page, go to the web site, check for phone records and write reports. I can access just as easily from my smart phone or if im on another computer. It is the foundation of my sales program and very complete. I am able to track current projects and the history is always available.
The search function is too complicated. if one letter is off I cannot get the proper search. It needs to be simplified. It crates a time problem for me each time I attempt a search. Also I would like for a link from the incoming phone calls to pull up a record of the caller. This would be an outstanding feature and save time and I could be more responsive when receiving a call.

This CRM solution lets you email individual customers or send mass emails from the customer relationship management application. This means you can also generate an invoice and immediately send it via email without needing to open your email program in a separate window. It also has dialing capabilities, which means with a compatible phone system and a click of a link, you can call a client from within NetSuite. With this software, you can import contact information from many different programs, including an Excel spreadsheet. You can easily upload all of your email contacts and other information stored in an old CRM program into NetSuite where it will be converted, formatted and saved automatically.
Billing automation has allowed us to invoice out 2.1 million to 1,000+ customers within a week or two. This allows us to keep cashflow coming in at critical times with significantly less manpower than has been needed before. Import and export from excel
Third Party softwares need to be purchased which is an extra cost

By using other systems we get through the manufacturing side but overall it has been a great improvement for the business. Highly recommend for a buy sell or minimal manufacturing business.
I absolutely love the product. It is great for us overall with marketing, CRM, accounting. Best bits are the reports, safe searches, and if I need some customisation like scripts or workflows done there are thousands of independent Netsuite specialists around the world who can write these for you.
As a manufacturer I would seriously look hard at other software to run this. Either use something completely different or another manufacturing software that can API / link in with Netsuite. I think the manufacturing side of NS is difficult to use and overly complicated for a small business. The time tracking is terrible (We use another system for time tracking and job tracking through the factory) and another down side is the cost to have a lot of employees on the factory floor logging on and off jobs. Looking back I did find it hard to find many other companies using Netsuite for manufacturing.
