It was my first time purchasing a cloud-based software that required so much customization.  Creating a tailor-made software for our business is great, but paying for the monthly service from day one of our contract was a huge oversite and was not aware when signing our contract.  We have used up 6 months of our first-year license without even entering our first quote or entering any customer records!   Buyer Beware and negotiate the contract start date up front to begin the configurations session and go live are completed!  The sales team and account reps are ruthless and will suck your business dry!

The overall experience with Netsuite is great. Customization is possible with no efforts. We are able to support almost all the Finance and Supply chain processes

From an IT perspective

Effective crm

We used to utilize NetSuite in our entire organization, for over 15 years. We used it for our ERP system, our CRM, as well as our e-commerce website, hosted on GoDaddy. It was the centerpiece of our day-to-day operations and our business. Everything was tied into NetSuite.  We are a Value Added Reseller of many Telecommunications systems manufacturers for the IT industry. NetSuite handled our e-commerce, order processing, inventory management, accounting, and even some marketing, perfectly. Until one day, they hit us up with a 100% price correction and some pretty bizarre and unethical terms/conditions and even borderline illegal stuff, like ownership and retrieval of our databases.
Luckily we were able to find a company out of Europe, who, despite NetSuite's every effort to obscure and prevent us from leaving, were able to extract, compile and upload all of our data into QuickBooks. Since that day, we've been using QuickBooks, and we cannot be happier with their software and support, as well as wit their business ethics.

Terrible. No customer support and if you do not review your contract they will just cut you off. Tried to close my year but before I could they turned off software because we chose not to renew contract. Never had such a bad experience. would not recommend to anyone, ever!!!

Bad Company

It was neither great or horrible . It did what it was supposed to . 

Net suite not so sweet 

Used full accounting and sales commission tracking. 

Very useful tracking sales across many product lines. 

I have been using NetSuite for more than 4 years and my experience with NetSuite is excellent. As a sales manager, I monitor sales orders and approve or reject them from any device and from any place easily without any effort, while I am controlling the sales of our company by monitoring the sales report and KPIs that NetSuite Provides.

Very organized, consistent management of Sales opportunities with descriptive tie-ins to RFP status have helped the RFP and sales teams maintain a good 20,000 ft view of historical records.

Tons of Features but bulky to use

Implementation was a nightmare. During Go Live, they lost us tens of thousands of dollars by deleting dozens of sales by accident. Every aspect of it is not user friendly and requires extensive coding knowledge. It is completely the wrong choice for smaller businesses.

Don't Use NetSuite

Great experience from discovery sessions, sales process, to implementation project team.

The best part of the software is that you You can download data for any period that you desire. It provides with a very user-friendly dashboard and the ease of accounting is also there.

It's ability to allow the user to customise the report by adding data field(s) which is great as we do not always need to go behind IT Professional asking for help.

My advice for those scoping out Netsuite is seriously analyze your business requirements and then advocate the hell for them in the scoping or implementation phases.

Please do your research before you find yourself stuck in a contract with a bunch of misleading employees that won't even respond to your email or try to address your concerns.

I hate the reporting functionality, avoid it if I can. Might be that I don't really understand its uses.

Lack of direct integration to the PSA tool. We struggled with bringing all of the contract details into the PSA and associated project.

It makes certain things accounting wise very automated and easy. Integration features are amazing.

Software is very easy to use so suitable for all staff not just office based staff. Software is so powerful that you can use it for invoicing, customer support, CRM and Shopping carts.

And when you realise that a lot of what you are paying for is really very poor and that you have to buy additional software/SAAS to make up for it's shortcomings, it is even more expensive.

It still has the same old clunky "out of date" UI, very limited change is made in their annual updates - it remains very dated and Netsuite never address the key lack of functionality.

The customer support is horrible. You can call your Account Executive and it takes days, weeks or months to get results.

Accounting Officer

I use it on a daily basis and its very useful for quick reports and billing. I find it very helpful when I have to raise a large number invoices at one go through the upload.

Senior Accountant

I am sometimes disappointed with the "out of the box" product, meaning there are some things that I would think are standard, but they end up costing more.
