Pros

What i like with Nitro is it is so easy to use with super friendly tools that even a beginner can use this app.
Meanwhile, Pro Edition has a lot to offer especially for big businesses which totally worth the investment. I really love using it, and I would continue to use it and recommend it to my friends.
Nitro is a valuable software and which helps to save our documents and also helps to protect environmental too.

Pros

The integration with other Adobe apps like InDesign. Best PDF editing features that enable me to edit a PDF file in any way I like and convert it in any format and back to PDF format as I'm pleased.
My favorite and most used feature is its seamless integration for the Adobe creative package which also includes photoshop, indesign, and illustrator.
The ability to share documents and have all edits and comments saved right in the document with information on who made them provides accountability and streamlined communication.

Cons

What i dislike from this software is about the update. There is no regular updates.
OCR scanning comes with errors, extracting text from a file will have small errors.
Customer Service is horrible. I have had to re-activate my license at least three or four times in the one year that I have been using the product.

Cons

It's a little difficult to go back and forth between these functions. There are certain problems with text scanning that cause some characters to be misinterpreted.
Horrible customer service, difficultnti work with HP printing software. It is also not in real time.
Adding comments can be a struggle. I end up spending too much time while at it.

Product works, Customer Service is horrible

Reviewed 5 years ago

I am generally happy with the product (although it is slow on certain things such as OCR), but as noted above, the Customer Service is simply horrible.

Pros

It works okay, much less expensive than Adobe Acrobat

Cons

Customer Service is horrible. I have had to re-activate my license at least three or four times in the one year that I have been using the product. I have NOT changed computers, but apparently, each time my laptop updates something (I have no clue what), my license deactivates. There is no one that I can reach out to at the company to let them know of my problem, no customer service availability. No phone, and no e-mail for feedback. I am sorry that we are using this product and will probably switch the next chance we get.

An affordable PDF editing program

Reviewed 2 years ago

It is a fine alternative to Adobe Acrobat for it's price.

Pros

The program runs well and isn't too hard to get used to. You can create, edit, and share PDF documents and more. One of the best features is that if you have Microsoft Word you can set it up so you can write a Word document and send it to Nitro with a click. Then you can customize it and make a PDF out of your Word document, and even digitally sign it.

Cons

Sometimes I have had the program crash unexpectedly. It also doesn't have as many features as say Adobe Acrobat would have.

Nitro, an alternative to Acrobat, but just as expensive

Reviewed 2 years ago

My main use of Nitro when I used it was to create PDF files from scanned physical documents, I mean hundreds of pages, even a thousand or two thousand pages in a single document, so the size of the files was really big. In this aspect I have no complaints about this program, it behaved very well with the number of pages entered, even on low-resource computers (intel Core i5 and 4 GB of RAM)

Pros

The only thing that led me to use Nitro was that it was the program used by the company I worked for, but I did not find any significant advantage to use it instead of Acrobat, at least in the use that I gave it, which was to create, edit and print PDF files

Cons

You might think that Nitro would be a cheap alternative to Adobe Acrobat, but Nitro prices are on the same level as Acrobat prices, so using Acrobat would be the smartest choice.

A good low cost alternative to Adobe

Reviewed 3 years ago

A very good low cost alternative to Adobe Acrobat with good features.

Pros

The licensing is much cheaper and far easier to deal with than Adobe. It is also more reliable than Adobe Acrobat, in the years of using this we never had any issues with installs going wrong or random error messages unlike Adobe Acrobat.

Cons

They are missing a few usefult features that Adobe Acrobat has such as automatically detecting where you want to put editable fields on a document.

Faster than Adobe Acrobat, less buggy, and doesn't require a subscription!

Reviewed 4 years ago

I was looking for a tool with all the functionality from Adobe Acrobat, without the bugginess and monthly subscription.

Pros

Nitro is quick to start, has great editing options and image to text functionality. It doesn't have any of the buggy quirks that Adobe Acrobat does, like freezing with a grey screen whenever you try and sign a document. Best of all, it doesn't require an ongoing subscription!

Cons

The website to purchase the software was a little bit confusing, with some outdated links and information, though the software itself has been great without any flaws found so far.

Nitro does a really great job of creating PDFs.

Reviewed 6 years ago

The best benefit I get from Nitro is the ability to create and edit PDF files.

Pros

I really like that it can be cheaper than Adobe, and that it does pretty much the same thing that acrobat does.

Cons

I like Adobe's subscription model and Nitro does not have that, to my knowledge. It is really beneficial in a corporate environment to be able to move a subscription around from one user to another.

Beware - no technical support OR contact with company

Reviewed 15 days ago

I've been using Nitro Pro for over 5 years. Until last year, everything worked as expected. Then it stopped working on my bosses' machine and started not being able to open some pdf files (no idea what's different about those files than the ones it will open). This means Nitro Pro is now only really useful for certain pdf files. Even worse, there is simply no technical support available and I find that disturbing at best. I certainly can't recommend Nitro Pro to anyone. A company that produces software products and doesn't offer technical support for those products is simply a bad bet for anyone, for commercial or personal use.

Pros

It has been a good alternative to a subscription with Adobe Acrobat. We purchased perpetual licensing. It works well when it works.

Cons

No technical support No way to contact the company unless I want to purchase more One of our licenses will not work correctly on one of our Windows 10 machines (i.e. the bosses computer) and there's simply no way to get assistance from the company. It can't open some pdf files (says they're corrupted - but they're not since Adobe Acrobat Reader can open them). Which means I can't edit those pdf files.

Decent alternative to Adobe Acrobat

Reviewed 4 years ago

Nitro is a lighter-weight, cheaper alternative to Adobe Acrobat. As long as you're not using it in a remote Citrix-led environment, this is an excellent choice for all your PDF needs beyond reading them. But in the Citrix-led environment, stick with Adobe.

Pros

The installer takes up less space, install time is cut in half compared to Adobe and the program also takes up less space as well. Loads faster, functionality is virtually the same as Adobe.

Cons

The print to PDF function works well unless in a Citrix environment where Adobe modules are preloaded into the Citrix machine. When that happens, printing out of Citrix's print to PDF is useless.

PDF made easy

Reviewed 5 years ago

Our switch from Adobe to Nitro was painless. Nitro has all the same plugins, so even when using it with our mail program, it works flawlessly! Of course it has a browser plugin, so when opening PDF files online, it will open them in the browser.

Pros

Cost! Straight and simple, cost is the best thing about Nitro Software. It's only a fraction of the price of it's major competitor, Adobe Acrobat. We were using Adobe, but one of my team members recommended that we try Nitro, as a cost cutting measure. we switched two years ago and haven't looked back. Honestly we have the same functionality as we did with Adobe.

Cons

Nothing major as far a con goes, but I've had the software freeze a few times, but to be honest, Adobe did the same thing! It's never a big deal as it auto saves and you pick up where you left off.

A Great Tool for .pdf

Reviewed 5 years ago

I've been using Nitro for several years now. It sure saves a lot of time and frustration when it comes to working with .pdf files, once you know how to use it (it's actually very user friendly).

Pros

Very easy to use with a lot of different, useful features. Separate, combine, and edit .pdf files.

Cons

Sometimes, the edit features didn't translate too well into other software. For example, if you changed somehting on a .pdf, those changes didn't always show up properly if someone opened the document in Adobe reader or acrobat.

I thought there was no way this was going to do the job that acrobat had done. I was pleasantly surprised by the functionality of Nitro. Not the sleekest program out there, but this met my needs.

Pros

Familiar interface is easy to use once you get the hang of it. This converter does just about everything I need it to do. I have had very good luck in converting to Word documents to PDF with Nitro, seemingly with fewer errors that Acrobat.

Cons

Seems a bit clunky and sluggish at times. Also, the lack of a mobile app is disappointing.

Could be made easier to delete pages and integrate some of the features from Nitro Pro

Adobe Acrobat

Definitley Top Tier for PDF Needs

Reviewed 4 years ago

While everyone strives to become 'paperless' these days - to the extent it's become a meaningless term; Adobe Acrobat DC has actually allowed me to do this for my team. I have to create flowcharts, manuals, etc. and have found being able to do so such a boon in efficiency through digital copies (no more printing!) which is invaluable considering the amount of change in these that occurs in my industry on an almost daily basis. Being able to edit these in minutes and redistribute has been a huge saver of time for me!

Pros

Adobe Acrobat DC allows for several ways to secure and protect your documents, including setting a password to open a document, preventing readers from editing the PDF, as well as ability to redact sensitive information. We became a 'paperless' environment years ago and use this to create PDFs of everything from flowcharts to manuals for the team.

Cons

There is not really anything I do not like about Adobe Acrobat DC. I have fond it's really just a matter of taste. I also use Nitro PDf which I like very much as well - in fact, I have Adobe on my laptop for work but Nitro on my personal laptop.

Adobe Acrobat

OK Product

Pros

Adobe Acrobat is ok. I find that some features are made more difficult than they should be. I also use Nitro and love it and think it is far better than Adobe Acrobat.

Cons

I find editing in Adobe Acrobat is more difficult than it should be.

Adobe Acrobat

Why I like Adobe Acrobat

Reviewed a year ago

It offers a wide range of features and tools that make it easy to format and edit text, images, and other elements in a PDF document. The interface is user-friendly, making it easy to navigate even for those who are not tech-savvy. It is also compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems and can be used on a variety of devices. However, it is important to keep in mind that the software can be costly, and it may require some time and effort to learn and master all of its features.

Pros

It allows users to create and edit PDF documents, which is a widely used and accepted file format for electronic documents. It has a wide range of tools and features that make it easy to edit and format text, images, and other elements in a PDF document. It allows users to add comments, annotations, and signatures to PDF documents, making it a useful tool for collaboration and review. It has a user-friendly...

Cons

dobe Acrobat is a paid software and can be costly for some users, especially for those who only need to use it occasionally. It can be difficult for some users to learn and master all of the advanced features and tools that it offers. The software can be quite resource-intensive, which can slow down older computers or devices. It does not include all the features of other Adobe products like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop etc.It has a steep learning curve for some users, especially those who are not familiar with PDF editing and formatting tools. It requires an internet connection to validate the license and can sometimes be a problem while working offline. There are some alternatives available like Foxit PhantomPDF, Nitro Pro etc which may be less expensive and offer similar functionality.
