How to create your first shipping label in Ordoro

Video Transcript

Speakers in this video: Jimmy (GetApp) and Sangram (Ordoro)

Sangram: Let's go ahead and try to solve the first problem which is creating a shipping label. I'm going to show you how to create a shipping label for one order first.

Jimmy: What we're going to do right now is I've just made a sale. It's coming through Ordoro. And now what we're going to do is to create a label that I can print out I assume.

Sangram: Exactly. Let's go ahead and do that. I'm going to pick this order. I know it has four quantities of one product, the Iron Man action figure. Clicking process here.

And what this is going to do is it's going to create shipment for me. And the next step I'm going to do is create a label for the shipment. Since this is the first time we are actually shipping something, it's going to ask me my ship from address, just to answer the question you had before. That's our office out here in Austin.

That gets you to creating the label. Right? It gives you the three options for shippers. I'm just going to pick USPS for now. If you notice it has a bunch of information already pre-filled. Like you've got the weight information from the shopping cart based on the product in there.

Jimmy: Based on the product, right?

Sangram: Exactly. Product or products that are in there.

Jimmy: Right.

Sangram: I'm going to select one of the shipping options and click on create. By the way, this is a domestic order so we're shipping from Austin to LA. Now the next step is it gives you the option to print either on a thermal printer which is a shipping labels special printer, which is common with online retailers who shipping out stuff or, you can print on a regular desktop printer as well.

Really what it does show you the label. Here’s a little bit of magic that happens in the background. When this label got created, this thing got the tracking number for it from the postal service and that box got sent back to the shopping cart or your website. Which in turn, basically kicks off an email to the customer, to the buyer in the interface. Saying hey you order is shipped, here’s the tracking number for it. You can track it for now.

All these are going to happen magically in the background. This is just a domestic shipping label that we created.
