Jimmy: What was that initial spark and inspiration that led you to co-found Ordoro?
Sangram: Sure, that's a nice question. I actually met up with my co-founders while we were in business school. And we did a little project together in one of the classes which was New Entrep creation class which you think of a business problem and you go about figuring out if that can be a real business or a company. So that's how the company started if you will.
While we were in the class, we actually got in touched with several online retailers just to do market validation, market research. We realized there were some real problems that these online retailers face with managing the back office operations of their businesses. There are several solutions that helped them sell their products online, several different shopping carts, market places like Amazon and EBay. But when we started there was really no one helping out to streamline their back office operations. That’s how we started off.
That was about 3 1/2 years back. We started off with a really small team. There were four of us all four co-founders. We started with five beta customers. It's been 3 1/2 years and we're way far ahead from where we were.
We have thousands of customers using us. We're still a pretty small team. I'd like to think we are with 12 people as we speak right now. And we are all based here in the wonderful city of Austin, Texas.
