My bio

Some writers are bugged by shrinking attention spans. Not me. People’s attention spans aren’t shrinking, their ability to process information is improving. This means today’s writer has to get to the point. Like this: Hundreds of stories published in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and India on hundreds of topics. A leader whose goal is to build and nurture creative talent while building the business. Thorough, diligent editor of my own work, and of my team’s work. Has written nearly every type of material across all media. Solid work ethic (I’m originally from the Midwest, the birthplace of the strong work ethic.) Good-natured. Considered to be witty by five out of seven people. Lived in eight states and three European nations.

Good fro keeping up to date  starstarstarstarstar_border  2018-03-29

 Pros

This is an app used heavily by other departments in my company. I use it to track where engineering and IT are on certain tasks. There's been relatively low adoption of this tool, myself included, but when I've used it, it's works fine and is easy to maneuver through.

 Cons

My guess is this tool is more robust than I'm aware of. The whole thing is very austere. Maybe if there were some prompts or alerts, or Did you know... interactions I'd have abetter idea of just how useful, or not useful, this app could be. But, for what I need it to do, it does an adequate job.

It's the smooth jazz of apps  starstarstarstarstar  2018-03-26

 Pros

It does what it says it'll do, corrals all my payroll stuff in one neat, tidy, easy to access and read place.

 Cons

Nothing worth really calling out. About the only in need of improvement is maybe make it more visually striking,-- but don't mess with the functionality.

It's nice to have  starstarstarstarstar_border  2018-03-26

 Pros

Given how ubiquitous Dropbox has become, it's easy to share larger files with nearly anyone, anywhere in the world. I don't even have to ask if someone has Dropbox, I just send files via the app.

 Cons

The experience isn't as fluid as it should. Maybe it's set me, but it feels like a lot of navigating to upload and send files. Could just be me.

There's got to be a better way  starstarstarstar_borderstar_border  2018-03-26

 Pros

It's good for getting a group together on the phone. And, it's decent connectivity. And, it's good for sharing, some of the time.

 Cons

Sometimes I get audio, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I can see what other teams are sharing, sometimes no. On a scale of 1 to 10, web is a solid 5.

Does what is says it will do  starstarstarstarstar  2018-03-26

 Pros

Nothing beats convenience and having all your sign-in stuff one place is great. Okta is my home base, first place I go at the start of the day.

 Cons

Nothing I've noticed. Adding more sites or apps can be a tad irritating, but this is a minor gripe. Overall this is a good tool.

Better than the rest  starstarstarstarstar_border  2018-03-26

 Pros

It's pretty intuitive and I loved that I was able to attach my personal domain to my site in a single click. The price is right, the capabilities are perfect for people like me who have very basic site building needs.

 Cons

The builder can be a bit wonky at times. Page creation is not the most streamlined process. Other builders aren't much better. Wix is sort of the best of web creation tools that all are kinda of a pain.

Bored of boards  starstarstarstar_borderstar_border  2018-03-20

 Pros

Easy interface. You an set up projects in no time. The simple drag and drop tiles make project set up an snap.

 Cons

Once you're in, there's no turning back. The search capabilities are wanting, to say the least. I used it mostly for creative team projects and spent more time looking for stuff than approving.

Gets the job done  starstarstarstarstar  2018-03-19

 Pros

Entering expenses is never fun, and generally, never easy. The Concur app, while not perfect, definitely speeds up the process. The photo receipts feature is great.

 Cons

Not super intuitive. I had to have the financial team show me how to break out ant itemize longer receipts with multiple expense categories on them. Seems like each step requires a click or two more than necessary.

Maybe not the best tool for creative teams  starstarstarstar_borderstar_border  2018-03-19

 Pros

Can get the bird's-eye view of all projects. Good for assigning tasks to team members. There's probably more there "there" but I don't have the time to dig through.

 Cons

Not the best for creative projects. Especially ones with lots of layers. (Videos, multi-media collateral.) Reviews and approval seem to get bogged down rather than sped up with this tool.

Three way  starstarstarstar_borderstar_border  2018-03-13

 Pros

Overall it is very easy to use. The interface is quick to understand and you can find whomever you're looking to connect with quickly.

 Cons

Call quality has always been an issue. No matter where I've been in the world, or where the person I'm calling is located the audio consistently cuts out, lags or is garbled.
