Helpful, but not ethical  starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border  2016-03-23

In today's age of digital marketing, it is becoming harder and harder to justify using services that mine contacts from various locations. Not only do these contacts that you can get from data.com not want to hear from you, most email providers do not allow you to even send to them so I'm not sure why you would want to use this for this reason. We tried using the contact mining system one time on 5,000 people and it yielded very poor results. The email hit less then half of the contacts had under an 8% open rate and not a single person clicked through on the offer for a free ebook. With that being said the only useful way to use the application is to check up on your existing contacts to make sure things like mailing address are up to date. Even with this feature though we found a lot of the data they provide is out of data and shows a ton of people who have left companies.

 Pros

Back-filling and double checking contacts on your list

 Cons

The data isn't that great and the service will be close to illegal in the near future

Ghostery Reviews
Privacy tool for transparency and control

Awesome tool that makes the internet less intrusive  starstarstarstarstar  2016-03-23

Ghostery blocks ad-trackers and other add-ons that slow down your experience online as well as prevents targeted ads when you visit other sites(a marketing team's worst enemy). Sometimes because of the blocking I get ads on Youtube that are not in my language, but that's not a big deal.

 Pros

Blocks ads online including annoying pop up ads on certain sites Prevents people being able to track you online Oh and it's free

 Cons

The only one that I can think of is that sometimes I get ads in other languages. Not a big deal

Why wouldn't you use Gmail  starstarstarstarstar  2016-03-14

Gmail is the best email client out there. It can be accessed anywhere and can be used on any device and plays very nice with others. When using with an Android device it give you access to so many integrated Gmail features and increases productivity.

 Pros

Ease of use Lots of users

 Cons

Can't think of any off the top of my head

Eventbrite Reviews
Build, manage, and grow events

Good tool, but a lot of branding  starstarstarstarstar_border  2016-03-14

Eventbrite is a great tool for running events. It is reasonably priced and can be picked up and used by nearly anyone. The only major downsized that I have come across is that their branding is everywhere and is not ideal.

 Pros

Ease of use and minimal ramp up time.

 Cons

Eventbrite branding crawling throughutt their product

Great basic CRM  starstarstarstar_borderstar_border  2016-03-14

Hubspot's CRM is a great free CRM system if you do not already have a CRM system. At my company we have Salesforce which is a better fit for our needs because of the customization ability and we also use Salesforce as a project management system in our business. Because of our unique case we rarely find ourselves using the Hubspot CRM, but if we were just starting out with a CRM system Hubspot would be our choice.

 Pros

Very easy to use Free

 Cons

Lacks Customization but this can be seen as a positive if you are just looking for a stable CRM system.

Microsoft Outlook Reviews
Email & calendar software

It's ok, but Gmail is better  starstarstarstarstar_border  2015-12-17

I use Outlook in a business setting and it does what we need it to do; combined email and calendar in a simple to use system. It's a very intuitive system with good capabilities, but Gmail, which I use for personal use, is a little bit better. The fact that HTML emails do not display optimally in Outlook is also a bummer.

 Pros

Ease of Use Plug-in with Salesforce

 Cons

HTML email display Feels old and tired

Salesforce Sales Cloud Reviews
Cloud-based CRM & Sales Automation

Very good system, but there is a learning curve  starstarstarstarstar  2015-12-16

Salesforce is a great system out of the box and can be customized into pretty much anything you could think of. At my current company it currently is used across all of our aspects of business, all with very different needs. It handles our product orders, our training orders, and well as managing our consulting work. It took awhile for people to learn to use and like the software, but once everyone was on board, it became a very powerful system that manages our contacts and is used almost as a project management software for many people. The integration across many platforms is also a major advantage of Salesforce over competitors since it is the most widely used CRM software. Overall I would recommend the software to anyone looking for a CRM. The value of being able to connect with so many other programs and the amount of support you get from support, 3rd party consultants and the online community, can't be rivaled by any other CRM software.

 Pros

Integrations Customization Powerful Reporting Features

 Cons

Difficult to on-board Not very intuitive
