Basecamp

Flexible project management tool

4.27/5 (1,377 reviews)
10,985     120,121

Basecamp uses a simple, visual interface to help individuals and team's manage their shared and personal projects and tasks. Basecamp's dashboard provides an overview of all your discussions, to-dos, files, text documents and events in a single glance.

The optional permissions and views in Basecamp mean you can choose which team mates and clients to collaborate with. The PM tool can be used to send messages, host discussions, organize events and meetings, share files and emails, and assign tasks.

Basecamp provides a project management solution for organizing both internal team projects, as well as client projects. You can choose to restrict permissions and views for project items, as well as entire projects. This allows you to share certain items with clients, while keeping other items private for sharing among your teammates.

Great Project and Life Management Tool

I use this for managing my work flow. I use it to collaborate with my business partner - we work remotely from each other for 80% of the time, and Basecamp makes all the difference. I also have the added benefit of using it to manage my "to do" list for my family life - love all the functionality.

Great tool, can be a headache to setup, use and change on the fly

Too nuanced. Feel like it was setup with a handful of applications in mind, but for more complex/custom applications, it isn't free flowing enough to allow for that type of setup and use. Also wish it integrated with industry tools a bit more. I think Basecamp is a great idea. I really think 75% ...

Great for Collaboration with Assets

21/03/2017

Our marketing team uses Basecamp to manage assets, project checklists and approvals internally. In past organizations I have used Basecamp to share project documents and maintain communications with clients; having all this information in one place allowed team members to easily pick up where we left off and for new members to easily jump in to help out.

Great Product For Simple Task Lists

This is a great product for simple task lists... not so much for project management in it's true form.

Good For the Price

16/03/2017

Basecamp is a really good tool if you are working on a project with a remote team of three or more people. However, a con would be that the user interface is not the best and really has not been updated in a while. It is a really good tool for using a repository of shared information for projects.

Basecamp is great

15/03/2017

Pros

It does what it says, and nothing more. Good for keeping your project on time. Base is definitely a must have for any project.

Cons

The only downside to Basecamp is that its not a free service. That being said its still very much worth the money.

Bring back Basecamp 2 features

14/03/2017

I work for an agency and we used Basecamp 2 for years and loved it. We were super excited for v3 to come out. Unfortunately, the features that were previously available for interaction and project management between the agency and clients is gone which was very surprising. This made v3 unusable for us as an agency so we went back to using v2 - we are really disappointed.
