Superb open source project management tools

Hi FX Bayu, thanks for taking the time to review! We don't get a lot of requests for a desktop version of Baserow, but if our community members are interested, it's something we can look into. In the meantime, there are some solutions that turn web apps into "native" apps using wrappers. Suggest looking into that if it's of interest. Regarding views: Baserow has Grid (table) Kanban (board), and Calendar views available. Lastly: Be sure to enable rich text formatting when creating a Long Text field. That should help! –Hiram

With baserow,am ensuring that I collect data from different teams located in different counties in a timely manner. The Data storage anddb design havebeen well sorted and with Baserow, there has been increased productivity and comparatively reduced personnel costs as to adding Experts.

I enjoy using Baserow and am happy to be part of the community. Open-sourcing your own product is not always easy in terms of intellectual property and old-school business mindset.

I've migrated from Airtable/SmartSuite to Baserow and use Baserow for summary and visual data management that works well with other databases like Cloudflare D1 and MongoDB (integrated with Make.com).

When it comes to Application Builder that the Baserow team is currently working on, according to their webinar, they plan to integrate other data sources and to develop a chart/graph feature, so I'm looking forward to using it.

(Competitors/alternatives could be not only Airtable, but also Retool and Softr)

Overall, Baserow is a cost-effective and strategic solution for your digital transformation.

Highly recommended visual database for long-term use

Hi Mana, thanks for sharing your feedback! Glad to see you're excited about the Application Builder too. We're planning on having it out of public beta later this year, so if you have specific functionality recommendations, we're all ears. Great to see you're maximizing Baserow's open source nature as well.

I believe a lot in Baserow, it's clearly not perfect yet, but it's far more reliable than Airtable for many use-cases (anything that is "backend-powered").

The product team is doing a good job, the tech team has mostly made great design decisions. Stuff could be better, but they're listening to their customers.

I like to compare Baserow to Airtable, because they're very much alike UI-wise, and are meant for the same people, those who aren't necessarily deeply technical but who know how to design a DB. It's much more simpler than Supabase/Xano, and with the recent addition of the App Builder (Beta), it will become even better and usable by many more people.

The basic functions and overall app design are excellent. The migration from other apps, and the creation of new instances, has been effortless.

Baserow: The Low Code Base we all wanted

Really appreciate your input and in-depth review! Glad that the templates are helpful—we have new ones (and updates to existing ones) with every release, so keep an eye out on those.

We're going to take some notes regarding your suggestions around user access control. Security is a huge point of focus for us, which includes RBAC and granular permissions for both internal and external collaborators.

Would also love to hear more about how you're using Baserow in conjunction with Notion and ClickUp, and learn how you'd envision an integration or "use [Baserow] inside of those" as you mentioned.

Baserow functional modern database approach

We have real-time collaboration, and changes to the database are always reflected instantly. I may not be fully understanding what you're referencing here when it comes to live data view, but we're happy to look into it for you if you pop your question into the Baserow Community (community.baserow.io).

over all support is very good. sadly, without the certain features we cannot sign up. in order for baserow to excel, it must: offer all the airtable features, for less $, or offer better platform for the same (or more) $.

As a heads up, views can be embedded into an iframe (a good example of this in action would be our baserow.io/templates page). We also have Gallery view, which is similar to what I believe you're looking for regarding "card format." For the other stuff, I may not be fully understanding, but I highly recommend jumping into the Baserow Community (community.baserow.io) so that you can share screenshots/GIFs of what you're looking for in Baserow. Once we have a better understanding of that, then we can start the process of fitting it into the roadmap. :) -Hiram

We are waiting for the addition of grouping by, count, and roll-up functions, among others, in Baserow before we can migrate from Airtable. Without grouping by, it is impossible to make the migration as it is a key UX requirement for our users.

Not sure if you've swung back to Baserow recently, but it might be helpful to fill you in on some of the features you mentioned:
1. Group by: This may end up getting moved up on the roadmap.
2. Count and rollup functions exist. The rollup field isn't native like on Airtable, but it's still possible to do it through a formula field.
3. Webhooks can be found when clicking the 3 dots (...) next to the table view.
4. Native Baserow automations are on the way. In the meantime, you can always set up powerful workflows using Zapier, Make, n8n, etc.
