Pros

Its easy to use, it has a good layout and is clean. I also like the UI, it's not cluttered or over complicated.
I like the visual representation of projects and I have made it that each client is a different color which is so helpful. This rally helps my team understand what is going on and what is priority.
Float is helping us to understand better our resource management and the financial health of the projects. It helps us to decide which is the best team to work on which project.

Pros

I love that this has reminder features, I use slack to message myself for anything i need to have at hand. I also love that it helps keep everyone on the same page.
I love the price/value, ease of use, inherent organization structure, and interface. M still using the free version which is amazing when I think about how much I use the system.
I like how well Slack enhances the ability to communicate with teams onsite and offsite. The integrations are really useful and allow for a boost in productivity.

Cons

I am not crazy about the graphic style of the calendar / schedule view. Hiding over the weekend it is difficult to see at a glance the separation between the various weeks.
Missing integration with slack and missing a dashboard.
So I have nothing to point out that is bad or buggy.

Cons

Slack is a tool, and if a company fails to identify the ground rules, it can be useless. The organizations that dislike using slack often have not defined rules around using it.
It feels disorganized, repetitive, and obsolete. I do not think that this is going to be something we use in the longterm.
Some messages or chats can be missed due to the complexity of having lots of channels or teams and if the user is not somewhat technical it can be confusing.

It is easy to add projects and assign them to different employees. The reporting tools are very helpful as well. The overview of what everyone is working on is very helpful. Searching within the program is perfect.

Easy scheduling and project management

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

Very easy and intuitive to use, reports make sense, useful links with other software (e.g. Slack).

Cons

Mobile app's use for scheduling is not extremely easy to see a medium to long term time frame. Not able to have different normal working weeks for different projects.

Great resource allocation tool!

Reviewed 2 years ago

I'm handling a very dynamic group of people and this is key to get the overall big picture.

Pros

Easy to use. The drag and drop functionality keeps it very simple.

Cons

Might be expensive if your team grows. I would also like to control the type of triggers for the slack notifications.

Look no further if you are searching for a Resource Planning and Team Scheduling app

Reviewed a year ago

We were using Google Sheets to plan our resources, but it was a mess. Float is just sexy!

Pros

Great visual design experience. An eagle-eye view of whole resources and team schedules. Slack integration is just lit.

Cons

No project management software feature. If it was there, we would have used just float for both project management and resource planning/scheduling.

Orgnisation and time planning

Pros

Float gives me a great overview of what's on today's schedule. The tool is customizable and can fit my agency's needs.

Cons

The notifications are somewhat inconsistent and I believe that they can be optimized even more. Perhaps a Slack integration would be cool?

Easy to use

Reviewed 6 months ago
Pros

Float is straightforward from a user perspective. I have yet to have any issues with it. Slack integration is especially nice.

Cons

I do wish there was better feature parity between mobile and web, but otherwise, I have no major complaints with Float. Float allows me to easily input my time tracking.

Great product to keep tracking of your team's taks

Reviewed 2 years ago

The whole team knows what other team members are all the time

Pros

What I like the most is the easy navigation and display of the information. The whole team knows at a glance what other team members are all the time and that's really useful when you have to collaborate.

Cons

Sometimes the font size feels a bit small. Also, it would be cool to have integration with other apps like Slack or Google Docks in order to share some notes.

Easy team planning

Reviewed 2 years ago

We needed to stay on top of the schedule for the engineering team and Float helps in that.

Pros

I really like the simplicity of Float, as you get everything done with drag and drop. Filling a week of our 15+ people is a breeze.

Cons

There are some "glitches". One glitch is related to making the autocomplete more obvious, because when you delete the whole text in the field it stays there. Another glitch is that sometimes the sync breaks on other clients and they have to refresh to pull-in changes. Their Slack integration is really basic at the moment, as it streams notifications over Slack. It would be way cooler and useful if it could send the weekly schedule to each member.
