Very solid and dependable, excellent QuickBooks integration with good support when needed. By addressing multiple needs - time tracking, estimating and invoice preparation, much time was saved.

dashboard & task assignments, team collaboration, alerts & subscriptions, dashboard & task assignment

Cons

not very responsive to be mobile friendly to tablet/notebook, one example: help icon covers scroll down and no way to turn off so this one item makes any screens with scroll down ( 80%) difficult to use. The app is only for timesheet which is good for staff, but not much for management.

Excellent - the only issue was when they updated the display of the task page and the took the feedback and improved it for the customer!

Pros

I love how naturally intuitive the software is. It's really easy to use and navigate - couldn't be any simpler!

Cons

We were disappointed with how the "add a task" page was functioning but the Customer Service team heard our feedback and restored the page to how it previously displayed.

Function Point is a great tool for organizing all of the work my creative services department does.

Pros

I like that my designers know what tasks to prioritize and that all the information for a job is organized in one place. I like that our internal clients can request new jobs and log in to make comments and see files without having to email attachments.

Cons

Because my team is in-house, we don't need the Estimates feature. I wish there were a way to open a job without first having to open an estimate.

when someone comments on a note, it doesn't notify you You can't attach a file from an email. you have to drag to desktop and then attach

I like the ability to search notes, jobs, and companies. I also like being able to easily see where we are with budgets and services.

Cons

How pinned notes work. I've had technical issues, being pinned a note but not notified, and I'd like to be able to close them or tag people on individual comments

Efficient time tracking system and project management tool, also really great for pulling reports and understanding workload

Cons

Anytime you're going from no structure to full structure, there's a bit of a learning curve. But since everything has been up and running, the team has had little complaints.

Function Point is the backbone to our studio. It helps us manage clients, the projects they assign us, costs that are incurred as a result of these jobs and allows us to focus on developing exceptional creative solutions for our clients. Without it we would be lost. Go Function Point Go.

Soup to nuts. It is comprehensive and is wonderfully supported by the responsive team at FP.

Cons

The graphic interface needs some work. Slowly we are getting there, but that would be my only criticism.

Pros

Easy to log time with clock. Easy to rip a weekly timesheet. I like how the panels are customisable.

Cons

Hard to mark up printing costs without showing this to our client. Hard to review total income after marking up printing costs.

It's very simple to create gantt charts, schedules, and assign tasks and projects to our creative team. It's great for getting work done on time and making sure everyone is on the same page.

Cons

Functional: gets the job done

Function point has been helpful in the area of getting our process and procedure into a rhythm, however it does lack in certain places. Notes, should have the ability to not be seen by everyone. The alerts, once you click into one it should be removed off of your alert list. I don't understand the need to have an estimate created before every job, especially since we haven't incorporated billing into our system. Also, there should be more customizable sections not just the additional fields in companies and contacts. Our Customer Success Manager Marissa was fantastic, she was supportive and patient.

Pros

It's been keeping us in a flow.

Cons

The notifications are obnoxious and while they can be super granular on what you can subscribe to, we as a team still get way too many for things that still are not relevant to us.

Easy to fill out time sheets and check on the hours that team members are logging to track to budgets.

Cons

Not incredibly intuitive to do much of anything except filling out time sheets with. I've had a lot of questions for our "Function Point Expert" in our office especially when creating budgets with service groups.

Their client services team is great! it provides integration of different metrics and views of projects and agency management. We actually used this software in a couple different ways and got enough support from their team to accommodate the product to our needs, and re-engineer the processes.

Pros

This software has a great integration of project management, time management, budgets, suppliers and many other features that make it unique. Constant improvements and features make the software quite competitive when compared to other industry standards, although it is not as common

Cons

Could use better visibility for task management in a more agile friendly manner such as sticky notes view. Missing multiple currency integration for agencies working in multiple countries

In terms of project management systems for agencies, it's pretty good.

Pros

Handles everything in one system -- setting up clients, creating jobs, allocating time to projects and tracking due dates. It's also nice that it allows customization and can handle POs and invoices.

Cons

This isn't a great CMS and definitely doesn't include the features that a sales team desires. It also won't allow you to see the difference between hours budgeted and hours actually spent as you have to reconcile the "estimated" and "actual" hours spent.

The Function Point team is always responsive and available

Function Point has grown with us as we've grown as a company. Their support team is responsive when question arise, and I know that everyone from their account team to product development to support is available when I need them. Their interest in soliciting feedback and involving clients in their roadmap development is so welcome.

Pros

Budgets, tasks, and schedules can all be connected and feed into each other, meaning less work for our team. Enter a timesheet entry and everyone knows the status of that task and how it has affected the overall budget immediately.

Cons

I think most things are specific to how we do business. For example, we'd like more customization of contacts and companies so we can track details more specifically. Right now, we're maintaining two CRMs -- FP and Salesforce. It would be amazing to combine them. We'd like to be able to give clients more insight into their projects. We stopped pursuing the client portal because it looked outdated. Perhaps that's changed. But providing some way to share a real-time timeline / schedule with clients would be valuable to us. We'd also value a re-do of the Resource Planner / Scheduler that allowed us to look at forecasted work, landed business that's not yet actionable (draft tasks) and landed, actionable work. This would give us greater insight into what business we can commit to.

I utilize FunctionPoint to manage my time, project estimates and jobs and assign tasks to my team.

Pros

I like that that job/client/financial/task/timesheet information is all in one central location. There is a lot of crossover in information, and it is nice to have a centralized location.

Cons

I do not like how non-user friendly the project management portion of the system is. There is little visibility to the status of tasks in connection to a broader timeline of dependencies/team members/etc. I would like to be able to "watch" tasks, answer questions, tag other team members, approve them for the next stage in the process or change person assigned to it when it's complete to initiate a new task for someone else. I also think there are a lot of glitches, where pages refresh on their own. I have noticed this on timesheets and task creation.

I wish I could look into analytics on my timesheets. We're always trying to increase efficiency so seeing some sort of chart or graph with my billable vs non billable time over the span of different time periods would be very helpful.

Our experience with Function Point has been a really positive one. Right from the start the FP team were happy to help with any queries and even now with any questions that come up they respond in a timely manner with the answers. The actual program is easy to use and the whole team agrees we don't know what we did without it!

Pros

Ease of use, clear simple design, great reporting and tracking of jobs.

Having to download files in the files tab can take a while Cant have symbols in links

Pros and Cons, but Very Powerful

Pros

In the end, our project management team needs to know when things are due and what's on everyone's plate. Communication is essential to that, and Function Point makes these tasks very easy. From estimates to timesheets, it's just as good, if not better, than other project management software.

Cons

The price is a bit high compared to other options, and it requires quite a bit of ramp-up time. In the end, this is not ideal for small teams, as they can be far more agile and don't need something like this to weigh them down.
