Geekbot Increases Positive Peace in Remote Workplaces

Overall, geekbot increases positive peace in my workplace through daily prompts that boost productivity and encourage remote communication!

Pros

I enjoyed being prompted to track my daily mood, energy, tasks and other day-to-day feelings, obstacles and wins. I also enjoyed being able to see others' Standup reports so that I could gauge how my coworkers are doing/feeling.

Cons

I enjoyed many of the features that my company used! I feel that there were many features that we have not yet tried out, though.

Helps show our attendaince in daily

All in all I really like geekbot. It's easy to use and fulfills a need which we were unable to fulfill, until we discovered geekbot.

Pros

It's easy to use. All users get a request to fill out if they're attending that days standup (we don't work in the same geographical location). If you forget to fill it out, you're reminded.

Cons

At one point my timezone was incorrect within geekbot, so I got my request to fill attendence too late. I had no opportunity to do anything about this. Could be due to the fact we are using the trial version.

Pros

I love how I was able to cut my performance meeting time to virtually nothing! Now, I ask my team (via slack) about what they are working on and how they are performing. This allows me to keep tabs on each of my employees and help where needed.

Cons

It's a little simple, and I'm using it to allow employees to self-critique.

Great tool for collaborative

Overall I'm satisfied with the tool and we are using it in the entire company.

Pros

It has two main benefits. First, I can plan my day and establish it with everybody, so that everybody knows what I'm working on. Second, I can see everybody's current task, and resolve any problems.

Cons

It would be great if I can sort my done tasks on slack.

Pros

Geekbot was a very good tool to help the team to gather and share their work with others without having to pause their days for a meeting. This tool helps greatly with documentation and task tracking as well. I would continue to use Geekbot

Cons

The ability to only add it to a Team channel and not an actual group.

GeekBot for the Win

Our team is saving time by being able to meet asynchronously for our standup meetings. We spend less time in online meetings and more time creating solutions.

Pros

Our team of 4 enjoy using Geekbot for asynchronous sprint stand-ups and retrospects. The Geekbot dashboard makes it easy to customize the questions and schedules for both types of asynchronous meetings. Geekbot integrates with Slack making it easy to track and document meeting responses. It can be configured to send reminders to team members according to a customized schedule. Along with being able to set a customized schedule, it’s always an option to use a Geekbot slack command to do an impromptu record. All these features make communicating as a team, spread across several time zones, convenient.

Cons

We haven't found anything to date that we would change about Geekbot.

Pros

We have been doing our standups with Geekbot and it has been super helpful in getting us to work more asynchronously. Although I didn't dig too deep into the dashboard, having the insights will be great to see how it is working for our team.

Cons

I did have a few issues with the app disconnecting from Slack and not loading again. I had to try multiple times until it finally reconnected.

Easy tool for remote standup meetings

Our team was searching convenient tool for remote standup meetings to track overall team progress. We like Geekbot a lot because of ease of integration and quick options to start. Also because of helpful support team.

Pros

Easy to integrate with slack Easy wizard to create daily standup survey Convenient daily and usage reports

Cons

Some functionality have to be expanded. Right now it's young product

Perfect digital standup

Very possitive. We've been trying many tools in the past but the team never really used them. however they all seem very happy with Geekbot and took minimal implementation effort from the management team to make it happen

Pros

Easy to setup Easy to get everyone to user Nice overview of peoples daily tasks Doesn't disturb people unnecessarily

Cons

Our team works in regions with 2 different weekends. so would be nice if you could set a personal weekend e.g Friday, Saturday for Dubai and Saturday, Sunday for Europe.

Pros

The Geekbot has a lot of features that make your teamwork more easier and productive. Our department uses a stand-up functionality every weekday

Cons

when I need to edit my report, then I want to have advanced formatting support, because for now links, mentions or smiles cannot be used after report updating

Helped open up communications across our team

Pros

How it fits around my day and my needs in a very convenient way. You can use it to ask the core questions that are important to your company when the users are ready to answer it. They don't have to stop what they are doing to attend an hour long meeting where they speak for 2 minutes about what they have done.

Cons

I did not like the fact that you couldn't change the geekboto logo, we would have liked to customise it with our own mascot or logo.

The startup that I am a part of had a hard time keeping daily standup meetings short. Geekbot offered a great way to keep each other updated with what we were working on and blockers in an asynchronous way.

Cons

Finding the management page can be a little tricky.

Geekbot in the classroom

I teach a class with 9 teams all using Agile. We use Geekbot for our Standups. It simplifies things for the teams and me, especially in a distributed format. THe only thing that might keep me from using the software is price. In a community college price is a huge consideration.

Pros

Multiple teams in a single Slack channel

Cons

Cost. That is kind of a cop-out since I know everyone wants free products. I see no downside yet.

Making life better on a daily basis

I use Geekbot with my team on a daily basis and it has made my life so much better. I still do work in following up with my team and keeping track of what they're doing but now I can be more flexible about when I follow up. I use to have 3 different standups for a 6 person team. They ranged from 8 in the morning to 11 at night. It was difficult to get everyone on the same call. This has definitely made our lives better and allowed us to still keep track of what we're doing.

Pros

Automatic. It takes care of sending the messages so that I can sleep.

Cons

A good tool that everyone can integrate into their workflow for more or less any use case

Pros

The ease of use and very specific use cases. It's a good too for standups and other kinds of progress updates. You get asked a series of questions and simply reply in Slack. This data is collected and posted elsewhere.

Cons

There wasn't any negative points that I discovered about my use of this tool

Automate your stand up meetings

It's a great tool to better organize your stand-ups and be less intrusive.

Pros

* Interface is really easy to use. * Onboarding/setup is fast and easy to follow. * It has a good monitoring and reporting interface.

Cons

* No free tier. * Constant reminder from geek bot can be annoying. * Sometimes updates are ignored on slack, but that an issue with the teamwork culture, not the UI.

Geekbot is a very usefull app for slack! Its easy for our remote team to work remotely with this app, it has reminders, we can see whats going on it other áreas of the NGO, stay connected, it helps us get organiced. I highly recomend this app and our team in Chicas en Tecnologia is very happy to work with it.

Geekbot is an intuitive and easy to use to for making your stand ups asynchronous

Pros

Geekbot is extremely easy to set up, you can get from 0 to async stand up in about 10 minutes. The way that it goes about getting team members updates and then posts them is also very seamless and helps remote teams on different schedules stay up to date on what other team members are doing.

Cons

For what the software does the yearly rate seems a bit steep. I also wish there were more options with respect to triggering the stand up.

Was able to eventually do everything I needed to, would recommend. Was surprised at the amount of useful templates and types of check-ins it could do.

Pros

It's super easy to use and implement within your existing workflow (for slack)

Cons

It's either picky or non-transparent around implementing stand-up check-ins for a few people (using private messages/ groups instead of channels).

It was GREAT

Pros

i do not have to worry on having a very distributed team, each developer states his standup at his starting hours and i couldn't love more that we are very organized right now

Cons

it should have more options not just standup meetings but also stand down and weekly reports

Pros

The software is very easy to implement and use. It helps our team keep an overview what of everyone is working on on a day to day basis.

Cons

It would be nice if there was the option as administrator to set the participation days of each user individually, instead of them having to submit it via their personal preferences.
