Kanban Tool vs Zenkit Comparison

The flexibility is superb and the UI is highly usable. The feature set is still growing, but it is great that new features do not introduce a burdensome complexity.

Missing a few features. Subcolumns in kanban view in particular.

Zenkit combines the power of mindmapping and Kanban. I use only this tow features for planning. Powerusers use it for execution as well – it is a very powerful tool.

Too many options could be overwhelming for beginners. You have to invest sometime to get the workflow that suits you.

The tool is extremely customizable, and the killer features for me is the customizable, 2-dimensional kanban boards, @mention in comments and 'savable' filters. Perfect for agile project management with multiple deliverables and team members.

If I'm creating new items in kanban mode, I need first to create the item, then open it to add all the details. Would be cool if it popped up the window as part of the first workflow, or better yet; let me use @mention and #labels as I type ( i Know #labels are there, but I need to remember the exact label. I would prefer to have a list pop up as I type)

Mindmap and Kanban are the best. The optional mapping tour to the users.

I have a crash and software installed in my system stop sync. I lost some mindmap. I sent to tech support the matters and they work out on it. I think can add a talk chat, a video chat, a comparisson betwen maps.

Easy switch from list view to Kanban. Conceptually Mind Map is a cool way to Brainstorm ideas Love that in Kanban when you click a task, the details window comes up on the side - and does not clear the rest of the screen.

Still missing Gantt Chart. Mind Map is not as good as stand-alone mindmap products.

The standard views replace any kanban board out there, the other views add a lot more.

Sometimes, performance is a little sub-optimal (especially on the app), but in the past two years a lot has happened and the team has improved this point already. Looking forward to the next updates.

It is as easy as I know it from other software - and is has way more functionality if you want it!

it is not that fluent. The user experience sometimes is a bit bumpy (e.g. moving tasks in Kanban view from lists to lists)

It’s easy to use. I like the mixture of Kanban and other layouts to manage my business

Fact that it is a pure SaaS offering. Zapier integration. The variety of view (e.g. Kanban, Gantt).

Free offering is a bit limited (as can be expected). Would appreciate a bigger attachment limit. Also more users in this package.

- using free forms (for screen and print) and for editing content would be fine - a table field (like an array) would be fine - configuration of screen font (size etc.) would be fine

What I like the most with Zenkit is the ability to customize a board to your needs. The most interesting features to me are custom fields. If you use Zenkit as a project management tool, you can add fields for "estimated time" and "time spent" for every task. It combines very well with the "Views" feature. You don't have to stick with the Kanban view and can choose between Kanban, task list, table, calendar (useful with due dates on tasks) and even mind maps.

The free version of Zenkit may be enough to test the product, but once you have more than 5 members in your team, you have to upgrade your account to a premium plan. Anyway, once you'll discover Zenkit, you may want to support the team behind this awesome product!

in my desktop version, I can't delete dashboards

This is a highly customizable version of other more famous softwares of the same kind, which allows users to do about everything they might want to do. I used it for a first project, for a first company, and didn't hesitate one second about adopting it when I started working in a second company.

The card display in the kanban view, or in other views, could be more customizable for clarity purposes. Sometimes a bit sluggish, although very fast overall.

Zenkit allows multiple views of a database. This is great for budgets, kanban/Agile, Work Breakdown Structure, and collaboration. Custom tags, Task Assignments, File Attachments. Zenkit empowers users to get creative in how they enter, manipulate, and view data. It is the Project Management database and collaboration tool of dreams.

As of yet, exporting data in free version is limited to a csv file of table contents. You have to work to get your info into Excel and then you'll likely do a lot of formatting to make it presentable. Future options for MindMap, Gannt, and report-ready files would be nice.

I love the new 2-factor authentication option even for personal (free) plans. The biggest functionality pro over any other system I've tried is the Mindmap option. Another cool option is that you can create the Mindmap even if you originally started the collection as a Kanban board. I've used this feature to great success multiple times. Additional views including List, Table, and Calendar. I like the multiple options as each project may have specific needs. I use the List for individual tasks, calendar view for my overall schedule, and Kanban for individual projects. Customization and ability to add fields (instead of being forced to only add them as comments).

The User Interface can seem a little utilitarian and not as friendly as some other software systems. No option to add additional visuals like photos or icons to individual Kanban cards until you are on a paid plan. When entering information into a Kanban card, it can be difficult to know where your cursor is if you use the tab key to move to next field.
