Not good for agile projects, and the UI/UX needs a lot of work.
Time entry is pretty good. Project feed is pretty good.
Clunky task view, lack of auditability of specific changes, deletions not recoverable, not good for agile projects.

The overall experience of using mavenlink has been outstanding. Timesheet and project management has never been easier. The resource and allocation management are charm and a time-saver.
* Resource Allocation features * Billing/non-billing time tracking and monitoring * Timesheet management features * Workflow management * Report and Analytics features * Customer support
Not much of a con, but ease of use is something that could be improved. In our organization also, we give a small session to any new mavenlink user before onboarding them on the software

Billable & Non-Billable Hours: The ability to quickly tab through the hours field is great, along with ability to prepare future timesheets without submitting them. Expense Tracking: Submitting expense reports is fairly quick, once expenses themselves are created.
Billable & Non-Billable Hours: Would like to be able to bypass entering Location as needed. It is not always needed for time tracking, but it is globally-required by the system. Expense Tracking: The ability to copy like expenses would be a great added feature. Expense details and amounts are almost always the same for recurring monthly employee reimbursements, and so being able to just copy those and attach the new receipts would be really helpful.

When my team began a search for a new project management and resource management tool we were replacing a file based process, which meant that project information was all over the place. Since we've implemented Mavenlink we've enjoyed a HUGE improvement in team members and senior managers knowing exactly where to find the status of a project, what tasks people are working on, how the budget is burning, etc., all in real time.
Staff Resourcing - Mavenlink is the only product we found that realizes how important resource planning is to a service company. With Master Planning and scheduled hrs we have added visibility and granularity into our resourcing plans that wasn't possible with our old MS Project based process. Mavenlink is also focused on improving this area even more in 2016, which I am very excited about. Project Planning - By introducing Mavenlink Templates into our Project Management processes, we've been able to standardize project plans and also make them easier to create. Partnership - Throughout my engagement with Mavenlink I have felt connected to their team and like my company was a partner rather than just another sale. They are always available to answer questions and ask for feedback about upcoming features that will benefit us.
We would really benefit from the addition of a view only user role for senior management, so we didn't need to manually add them to all projects. I would also really value some more search filter options on many pages and including search parameters into the URL so a specific search can be shared.

As I learned what's possible and relevant to my role, it's been pretty useful. Still trying to find most efficient ways to do some of my regular tasks in it.
- Various ways and places to do a particular task, e.g., track time and allocating time in resource planner or in task-level view - Project Templates availability
To the novice user or someone who doesn't need to do too many things, this product can be overwhelming.

I love how time tracking on projects is easily implemented. I also love how I can look at time spent on projects per individual and phase easily.
For our company and discipline, it is desired to see the percentage of time used on a particular phase. We used to have this feature in Archi-Office. Every time slip let us know of the percentage left in the project in order for us to receive a heads up when we are nearing 100% of our fee.

Its
API Documentation and API Implementation is very good. Integration is key for effective use of the tool.
Does not have bulk upload features 1. Bulk Users Allocation to Projects, 2. Bulk Upload User Allocations 3. Bulk Upload of TImesheet data 4. Reporting features can be enhanced, the usability of report download can be improved.

I would recommend the tool, its provided us with a really useful platform to provide greater control over our projects.
The Dashboard and project spaces are clean and intuitive - they provide us with a clear way to manage our projects - we make great use of the project health checks and project insights for our weekly and monthly reporting.
there could be more done to make the time sheet and scheduling tools integrated more

Overall I feel that Mavenlink is average. The people I've worked with there have been kind, helpful and have average to good customer service.
The stopwatch feature and the checklist feature
1. Cascade changes default to off 2. Having to update predecessor/task dependencies in gantt view 3. That the gantt view screen divider isn't sticky 4. You can't make bulk task assignment edits 5. You can't bulk edit tasks/select multiple and move them 6. Currently no feature to duplicate projects/tasks 7. Can't add delete multiple tasks when adding from a template without getting the "are you sure you want to delete" message 8. Capability for multiple users to mark a task as "done with my part" 9. Not being able to organize deliverables at the task level with task level folders 10. Lack of global search function 11. Resource scheduling - PTO will not automatically update project delivery dates 12. Resource planner doesn't allow task assignment if user isn't already added to the project 13. Can't see task predecessor relationship from Task View 14. No way to organize templates when you want to attach one, there's a long list 16. Can't edit task assignments in bulk from Gantt view 17. Can't log time directly to a task, it opens a new window 18. Copying tasks from one project to another - need to create a template first 19. Task Tracker defaults to closed parent tasks/can't easily view all tasks in a project 20. There's no "Show all" button for task tracker view

An overall lack of configurability make this very difficult to recommend to anyone as a tool, when things like Salesforce PSA exists. A UX overhaul is needed in order to make this product intuitive. The first rule of UX is to not make the user think.
Honestly nothing. I dislike everything about this product.
- Adding people to tasks is confusing and prone to error. Options that are not needed cannot be removed. - Unsubmitted time cards count against project budget. This makes zero sense and cannot be configured otherwise. - Reports must be exported, downloaded, opened in Excel, and manipulated in order to see anything meaningful. They are not visible real time. - Time card notes are optional, and cannot be made mandatory in order to save the record

Mavenlink feels a bit clunky to me with lots of room for improvement in overall UI design and user experience.
Creating task lists is easy in Mavenlink. Once the list is created, you can move the items around to rearrange the order or turn some of them into sub-tasks.
The expense report tool doesn't work for our organization because Mavenlink only calculates expenses in a single currency. Our company has employees all over the world and we travel to clients in many countries. Therefore, having the ability to convert currencies is key for our group. I would also like the ability to copy a timesheet completely from one week to another (both the billing categories and the time spent on projects).

I am not a fan of Mavenlink. I don't think the software is a good fit for our organization.
I like the time tracking, the UI is okay, and it seems to work well without crashing or being buggy.
Integrations aren't intuitive. Note taking and project tracking isn't robust. There doesn't seem to be a way to do personalized views. I wish there were more to-do list type features.

We used Mavenlink for 3 years. The biggest benefit was the ability to integrate with Chrome browser's through their plug-in for time tracking and entry without needing to login to the main Mavenlink site.
Our accounting department's biggest concern was the inability to seamlessly work with Quickbooks Online as we were from Canada. This resulted in doubling up some accounting tasks.

Overall, Mavenlink is a good solution, but PMs have to learn how to manage projects properly so it works as it should.
I've used Mavenlink with a team of more than 50 members and it was useful to see the project tracking by client and tha gantt chart.
It is a bit cumbersome to update all the project dates. We have hundreds of projects in Mavenlink and the features are a bit hard to grasp sometimes.

Adding projects to Mavenlink is easy and can be done relatively quickly. Adding users and assigning their roles is also fast and easy. I can then invite users to individual projects that they are involved in, while keeping them off projects they're not. This helps reduce confusion for all parties and simplifies their view able project lists.
It is expensive for small businesses like ours to maintain after the initial discounted year. Larger companies will likely benefit from volume licensing, unfortunately that's not available for us.

This is far more than a project management app. This is a complete enterprise management platform.
Mavenlink provides an off the shelf cloud based business operations system that complements our business model well. We took advantage of the MavenOPs onboarding support feature as well and have been very well supported as we transition our current systems and projects into Mavenlink. Its ease of use, comprehensive support and economic price point delivers a comprehensive enterprise planning and reporting suite at a fraction of the costs of larger (more cumbersome) systems. The level of support from the Mavenlink team is really impressive.
I would like to be able to white label email notifications and organic Xero integration but when weighed up with the pros these fade into irrelevance. And that is saying something for us as we rely so much on integration.

One of the things that has impressed me the most is the amount of features and tools it offers. From resource management and project planning, to reporting and integration with other tools, this platform has exceeded all my expectations.
What I liked the most is its ability to optimize resources and increase the operational performance of my organization. I greatly appreciate the business intelligence and analytics features it offers. It allows me to have a complete picture of my projects, visualize the progress in real time and make informed decisions to improve efficiency.
What I liked least is its initial learning curve to get the most out of all its functions and features. While the platform is incredibly powerful, it can be overwhelming for those with no prior experience managing projects or using similar software.

My company of ~150 reached its tipping point with project managers keeping .mpp projects plans in a file system. Our Traffic Manager was managing resourcing in another separate .mpp, so we had a very difficult time with capacity planning and could not interact well with our data. Mavenlink has hugely improved this with its reporting, resource management, project planning, and time tracking all in one system. We are very pleased with our implementation of this!
- Ability to compare scheduled hours to actual hours - Robust reporting, both custom and out of the box options - Interactive Gantt - Easy to link conversation to project tasks - Flexible project templates for team re-use - Custom fields - Amazingly supportive Mavenlink team!!
While these are my biggest cons, I also know there's improvements on the way: - Building a project plan takes a little getting used to if you're a diehard Microsoft Project person. - Timer doesn't allow you to switch between tasks very easily. - Can't easily export project plan or Gantt in a nice view.

Employee and project time and budget management.
User friendly interface, easy to implement, great time tracking tool, project budget control, best access level management, and so on... We tried at least three other PSA and PPM tools and Mavenlink provided the best value. Their support and training programs have been outstanding even compare to some big brand names in the tech industry.

Mavenlink has over-promised and under-delivered in a key way for my team. This has resulted in $1400+ being wasted on a tool that we will not use. We have gone back to our assortment of tools (Asana, Harvest, etc.) which work well even though they are disconnected from one another. My recommendation: do not buy Mavenlink. There are several examples of Mavenlink's failure. One would be the “Light CRM” feature which was promised to me in May by a sales person, and has been “coming soon” for several years (!) according to their team. The forum thread here: https://mavenlink.zendesk.com/entries/330867-Light-CRM-capability They repeatedly states that “it’s a priority” “coming 2nd quarter of this year (2012)” also again saying in 2012 that “A CRM integration and Light CRM within Mavenlink is on our roadmap for this year. We are working hard to release some very exciting enhancements and integrations as quickly as possible to our customer base. On the thread above, people left a comment on Sept. 22 2013 which sums up how I feel regarding the Mavenlink team’s promises and lack of delivery. October 3rd, 2013, Mavenlink says that “we are about to begin development…” Hmm, that was supposed to be happening in 2012. And we still have nothing.
Relatively good service. There were a few times that a support request took several follow ups to get any answer, but overall pretty good. The live chat support in the app is really nice. It was easy to "get started."
I've got a list of eight, but the review length is capped and won't let me type any more.

It's an online collaborative tool with clients. I like that it's real-time and you don't have to repeatedly share a project plan - the client can always see the status
I'd like to have more options like MS Project, just some more features with project tasks/dates and notifications/reporting when running behind or late

Intuitive - it's relatively easy to learn and manipulate according to my needs. I have several different views for quick access to the information I need on each project. The communication features with coworkers is also a plus!
The only thing that bugs me right now is that it's a bit cumbersome to find historical data in the tasks. I have to scroll through a lot to find it.
