Pros

Jira is pretty straight forward. Once you get used to how to set up a Jira, and subscribe to notifications it works on auto-pilot helps to get track of complex issues, resolution and monitor progress.
Slack integration is super useful and the ability to write JQL and integrating with Google sheet is immensely useful.
It is so easy to get started with Jira. They have awesome integrations into other atlassian products as well (we were using Trello before) so switching to Jira was almost seamless.

It has limited number of software integrations. Error notifications can be annoying sometimes.
If you accidentally click on the wrong name, the submitter gets a notification when it is assigned, and then another notification when you fix this by assigning it to the correct name.
Sometimes Jira does not work for some time and that makes it hard to track work. It has server problems often.

I've MS planner, GitHub Project Boards, even MS Planner and if you combine all the features of those... You'll have JIRA.

Pros

JIRA is a full-featured Agile management solution. It supports almost all agile dev methods like kanban, scrum, etc.

Cons

I think if you nitpick, the price is the low point. It is more expensive than github and Ms Planner, but probably less than azure devops or trello.

Jira - One stop issue tracking solution

It is undoubtedly the best thing ever introduced for project managers! For developers like us, it saves us a lot of headache to do things systematically, rather than spending time on Excel sheets.

Pros

Perfect for resource management and issue tracking, good for project managers to find out where the team is spending maximum time and helps in bandwidth allocation, understanding team velocity. With the Atlassian Suite, Jira + Confluence is a deadly duo.

Cons

Very slow! The dashboards are not fast. Also, for milestone tracking, percentage completion is not very well implemented as well as time spent does not get that much of visibility.

A planner with a bit of trouble to use.

I have not had the best experience with Jira. Yes, the interface is clean and easy to navigate, but there are many troubles within ​task and planners​ added to subfolders. That has to be fixed as there are many other options to show fewer ​​​troubles​.

Pros

The interface of Jira is very clean and great to see. It is very easy once you to deploy and navigate. Also, having different planners​ and ​sub-categories on Jira is quite​ easy and very organized. That is why I've liked most about Jira.

Cons

Integration. It really was a hard and complicated time to get used​ to. It gave us many errors. One of the things that I dislike is that if share a planner with someone by giving the link and you move the planner to a different spot the link become corrupted. There should be a fix for that.

Best Ever toolbox which has reshaped the software delivery

Overall very happy with JIRA and hard to imagine my workday without this.

Pros

A very good tool for workflow management and supports all sorts of software delivery models. It allows to delegate tasks, monitor progress, and allow follow-up. Useful reporting features that can be used to track progress against a milestone.

Cons

JQL is a key feature to add the capability of having custom dashboards but learning JQL could be a steep curve for someone not from a programming background.

In my experience, JIRA is a tool that fulfills the needs related to planning both short and long-term tasks.

Pros

Great functionalities that make it easy to manage sprints, such as tagging to identify projects, viewer for backlog of tasks, and long-term roadmap planner.

Cons

It’s relatively hard to use when compared to other similar software. Tools for documenting are not so good.

Its easy use, since it does not need professional knowledge to be able to use it, and the competitive advantage it generates when using it as a planner in collaborative works

Cons

That even when it facilitates group cohesion and motivates competitiveness and the fulfillment of collaborative works, connectivity is essential and if there are failures of connection to the internet, group harmony is difficult and it can become a generator of stress and chaos

Capable project management system, but difficult to use for non-developers

Our development team loves the tool, and support has been prompt and friendly when we've had to reach out to them.

Pros

Our development team instantly recognizes Jira. Jira is an ideal task management platform for agile software development teams.

Cons

Not particularly useful for waterfall development methodology. We've adopted agile methodologies for our R&D efforts, but we deliver highly customized software for clients with strict milestone deadlines, which does not lend itself well to Jira. Also, non-dev business users have been slow to adopt the tool.
