Good planning of construction projects
It is easy to use, runs on chrome browser and no complicated installations on harddrive needed. Excellent gantt charting and task assignment tools. Intuitive for adding comments, images etc.
Constant web connection needed for syncing and staying saved. Not clear if an offline version is present.

This software allowed our company to make preliminary schedules for our construction projects in a user friendly way.
Similar to excel. Easy to duplicate existing templates or choose from several existing templates. Easy to export in various different formats.
Not 100% compatible with integration into our other softwares. Would like to see a better Gantt chart/schedule view with graphs rather than spreadsheets.

Smartsheet is cloud based, so can access it anywhere. Love the little things like hitting the "insert" key inserts a new row. They clearly think about intuitive and easy workflow enhancements. Granted, we're not advances users of Excel, but in our architecture practice, there's nothing excel does that we couldn't do in smartsheet. We also use the Gantt chart feature for design and construction schedules. We didn't have MS Project before, but now we don't need it.
The last time I checked, their Kanban worksheet setup didn't make sense, whereas Trello had it figured out. I was going to say the timeline formatting options in the Gantt charts left a bit to be desired, but I just checked and they fixed it! So there you go - great and constant feature development. Neutral grade for customer support because I've never had to use it.

Seamless project management in a cloud-environment
I love that I can take my Excel sheet and create a cloud environment for my project management needs. I work on virtual teams and it is the perfect solution to plan all my marketing activities. I love the reminder feature so that I can add automation and not have to remember to send 100 emails!
Sometimes I need a little bit more control than what I can get with SmartSheet but I've always found a work around method to accomplish my tasks.

Creating and issuing tasks. Tracking time and expenses upon project completion.
Smartsheet combines team management and task management tools in one spot. It improves productivity at workstation by automating time and expense tracking which would cost a lot of time doing it manually.
Mobile application for iOS lacks some tools available on cloud-based solution.

Smartsheet is simple and awesome to use. You don't get that weird feeling when you work on it. It is simple to understand and follow and can also handle complexities. We use it for managing from simple to complex projects which involve a lot of tasks, subtasks, milestones along with resources. The best part about this is that it is cloud-based so it can be accessed from anywhere.

I like smartsheet, I will recommend this to every businesses, and I can say its a big help.
Everything from creating tasks, scheduling, and updating is all in this great application. It's like MS worksheet, but it is more Robust than I expected. This is an ideal software for construction firms, and everything.
It does what it does. It is of great help, so no bad comments from me. Although I do not give it a five star, it is because I expect a room for improvement pretty soon. But this one is already an excellent application.

collaboration at its best, notifications and automated tasks to make managing work easier and share info and status updates with team and upper management. Smartsheet is always updating its features and functions and listens to customer feedback.
although you can start for free, if you get the business or enterprise level accounts they can be costly.

Cloud based project planning, Connection to Jira for tasking.
Love having a cloud based tool for project management. The tools is easy entry for anyone who has ever used Microsoft Excel and/or Google Docs. Having everything on the cloud means that my team can access their work from anywhere and share with anyone they choose. Security is a major selling point and with SmartSheet being PCI and HIPA compliant is not just expected but implicit with them.
Standard Calendar tool to visualize project plans is a bit underwhelming. Ability to use charts is a newer feature and has some ways to go before it is a go-to tool.

It's hard for me to come up with anything for this section. I like that I can manage construction projects with it. However, this has been a lot more difficult since the notes/comments was redesigned.
Crashes on the dashboard, comments were redesigned and caused issues tracking files. Very time consuming and difficult to see the latest info on a project now.

Smartsheet was a great value add to out tool kits from collaboration and project management perspective. It has all the required critical functionalities needed for a tool and the best part of it is how easily it can be shared and the fact that it on the cloud. The load time is really because of your internet connection and not because of the product. It gives us a good understanding of where the project is, what are the risks, when are the milestones and who are the key resources.

Its on cloud and free with google apps. If you are ready to let go of some add on features of ms projects, its a very good cloud based project management app
Its on Cloud and multiple stakeholders can collaborate simultaneously and update on the timelines/ achievements
Its not as user friendly as microsoft projects. Many functionalities available in ms projects not easily done here

Overall task scheduling and project management is very efficient and easy to do with smartsheet.
The scheduling is very easy to manage with smartsheet. The dashboard is also very effective and customizable. The form automation is also one of the things that i liked very much. Construction and idea management both are very effective.
I feel like task updating and editing need to be made even more easy and accessible. The task progress tracking works good but while handling multiple projects the performance and results degrade that need to be improved.

This software is cloud based, so can access it anywhere. They clearly think about intuitive and easy workflow enhancements.
I really didn't have any complaints though, but it did crash a few times. I think can be improve very soon.

It's pretty great overall.
Ease of use, various integration, cloud based accessibility.
There are some features that need to be added or improved such as resources allotment in %, able to maneuver dbase logs using forms (i.e. you can access previously entered data via forms)...

This software, once you get past the learning curve, was awesome to use as a project management tool. Our company built out multiple project management sheets for the construction of our mobile app. I would highly recommend this for companies who want to get organized.
There is a learning curve to this type of software, but the support, videos, and learning tools help you get to the knowledge point of where you need to be to be a successful user of this technology.

I used SmartSheet when I worked for in the accounting department for a construction company. I updated the books using the tool, and SmartSheet made it easy for those with access to see the numbers and information I recorded.
I liked that it was online, and worked similar to Excel sheets. Those with access could easily view or edit the information I entered.
Entering formulas in sheets was not easy and did not always save or automatically apply to certain rows or columns.
