I like TargetProcess because it has a great set of functionalities. You can easily view the current sprint or past sprints, can add a User story or defect from anywhere and the best thing is that you can create personalized views.

Lots of functionalities

To use  it effectively you essentially have to build your own tracker on top of it. Next to unless out of the box. 

Badly made, slow and tedious to use, didn't look bad though

TP  offers an ease of use platform allowing transparency and ease of use ensuring projects, development and sprints remain on track and visable with excellent reporting options. 

Project management in one package for software delivery

Target Process is a wonderful tool to many multiple projects among multiple teams. We used it for 1 year. It brings us smart view to manage and control the projects state. It is great. We used it as follows:
1. User Stories are commonly used by QA and Developer;
2. Tasks are only used by Developer;
3. QA add/edit test plans on User Stories;
4. Project Sprints are used to manage multiple projects ongoing at the same time;
5. Team Sprint is used to manage QA Team dynamic and static work;
6. Burndown chart and other views are used for projects risk control;

Suggestions:
1. Can it filter Sprints easily ? As there are many Sprints in one Project, we want to filter the Sprints we are interested on;
2. It's better to link to other views from the Views Panel. Then I will not click in it and click other link to other views.

Perfect projects management tool

After evaluating multiple kanban type products and finding them either lacking, expensive or simply frustrating I found Targetprocess to be a breath of fresh air. It starts easy but you can get very detailed. And I'm not the typical user as I don't develop software but run a transportation company based on Lean/Agile process methodologies.

Smarter then me

I have been using Targetprocess for more than 3 years now and can't imagine using any other tool to manage projects.  I have not come across a more complete product to manage sprints, features and bugs.  It does so many things and does them well.  I highly recommend it.

Comprehensive Project Management product

A great fit for a small business running Agile Scrum.  Setting up new users is a snap and there's almost no need to train, so we don't waste time getting people up to speed.  It just fades into the background of our day-to-day work tempo.

It hits the Goldilocks zone

Targetprocess is a flexible and powerful software for managing our software development projects.  It's possible to use simply as a basic kanban board with cards in different states, or by continuing to add depth and complexity - such as releases, sprints, test plans, cross-team projects and assignments. Only thing lacking is a good notification system. Highly recommend it. 

Flexible and powerful

This is used daily to manage iterations and sprints. The flexibility between boards and linking them to different boards is great to include all staff with little experience. We use Business requirements on one board then make a user story on the sprint board. You can follow your work all the way through from the business requirement to test runs and then production of the work.

Links of a chain

The product and engineering team at my company use Target Process to track our backlog, prioritize feature requests, triage incoming bugs, and track our sprints. The tool is very flexible and allows you to enter custom fields to suit your business needs. The only negative is that there is a high learning curve due to the amount of customization. However, once you learn how to use it, Targetprocess is a great tool to help your team stay organized.

TP helped us a lot to manage a complex project that had many teams working in parallel in a large product roadmap.

My conclusion  was that  to be worth the investment the teams should take advantage of all the features and metrics that it can generate. 

Depending on client's project management in some cases it was not possible to use correctly sprints and generate metrics. In those cases we ended migrating to other tool (such as Trello).

Awesome product for the right cases

Whenever I have a problem, support is quick to respond.  There have been some features that I wished were in the product that haven't been added. Some have been added, overall a good product.  Like any software, there are some bugs, but nothing that has greatly affected us.   The biggest missing feature right now is the ability to determine and "set" average velocity based off of previous X number of sprints.  If they added that, it would make planning much easier. 

Great support, good product

I've been using Targetprocess for the last 12 months to keep track of tasks in the CRM area of my Marketing team and it has been fantastic. It does everything you would want with Scrum tracking - we can create iterations/sprints, measure velocity, assign stories to people, create tasks underneath that, etc.

The only thing I would suggest is that if you are new to Scrum/Kanban, because it has so many more features, TargetProcess can have a steeper learning curve than simpler tools such as Trello.

Highly Detailed & Powerful Kanban Software

Overall support has been responsive, and we have been using it for several years. However this past year we had 20 users on a separate product line switch to another product. Therefore we are about half the users on this system right now than we had before.  

Great customizability at the expense of complexity

TargetProcess continues to innovate and lead the field. We're always finding new features and tools. But this complexity hasn't come at any appreciable cost, everything is intuitive and clear. 

Occasionally, some calculations about time spent don't roll up as expected, but I've yet to find any glaring omission. Sometimes communication can be difficult as views are usually designed by one person for themselves so there is ramp up in explaining your view.

It is our only development planning tool. We use it to manage both sprints and Kanban methodologies.

An excellent tool for developers and managers

TargetProcess

We have one team with scarce number of developers but we have a lot of projects and tickets.  Our main problem was filtering and prioritizing the tickets so that we don't have to go through the list of not important tickets too often. TargetProcess enables that and also provides the views to see all the tickets of many projects on one board and also enables filtering out or inactivating a project.

Secondly, Kanban boards are of great importance for us. Thanks to them we can easily change a property of a ticket or relocate a user story between features. That is an irreplaceable help when you have a lot of tickets. 

Thirdly, we know it too well that tickets times estimates are prone to mistakes and thus team sprints time boundaries change. In TargetProcess it is very easy to edit a team sprint start and end time, no need to tediously go through all the tickets of a team sprint.

I'd say it's not the most visually appealing and user friendly software out there, but the amount of things you can do is just incredible. It's also incredibly customizable.

Sometimes existing data is hard to export for other use.
