Good for management, hard to track changes

2018-09-10

For less complex projects I think I prefer Basecamp.

Pros

The ability to assign tasks and get reminders on upcoming deadlines

Cons

It's challenging to sort through complex projects when searching for past specifics without going through lots of clicks

By far the best Project Management software that I have used.

2018-03-09

Keep up to date on projects that we have going in real time. Easy to use, easy to update. Would definitely recommend.

Pros

I have used Basecamp as well, and to me Workfront is more robust.

Cons

The only thing that it is lacking in my opinion is live chat. The mobile version, although it does work well, it only shows the projects that you are on, and none of the nested projects.

Really good for what my organization needs

2017-10-05

Pros

- The amount of customization you can have over request forms - The compilation of tasks / documents / notes in one single place - The proofing and approval mechanism being built right into the software - no more email attachments or claims of missing emails (items are time stamped re: access) - Good mix of collaboration and project management

Cons

- If you're in a task you need to navigate back to the main project to review custom form details (which are sort of buried) - Not as seamless email interaction as something like basecamp (where you can respond to a project directly in an email) - Pretty 'dry' looking interface - not the most user-friendly as I've found myself clicking to learn - While there is a LOT of customization it's not perfect.

Extremely Robust System BUT GREAT!

2017-04-11

This is a good and a bad thing, as our last system was so simple (Basecamp). We have had some issues with adoption since there are so many levels on the projects.

Pros

The endless amount of capabilities and the visibility of projects.

Cons

On the other side sometimes the endless capabilities can be too much.

Recommendations to others considering Workfront

Plan to train any users multiple times, as you learn more about the software you need to share it with them.

Best Creative Collaboration Software!

2015-09-21

I have ran a digital marketing /SEO firm for years, I always had that missing piece of the approval and review process, we used Basecamp, GoToMeeting and that all worked great but the translation of what the client really wants done on the site, vs what we think they want done, or showing them the creative material properly was missing.; Trying to get something approved the way the client actually wanted it verse how we interpenetrated was a nightmare!

Great Idea, Not Great Execution

2018-12-04

I liked it, but ended up switching to Workfront as it integrates easily with ProofHQ

Pros

Easy to use and post. Organization of boards is simple to implement.

Cons

Does not integrate with proofing software easily, tasks and other organizational software easily.

Basecamp Review

2019-02-22

I've pushed our team to move away from it, opting to work with Google docs , Workfront and other collaborative systems that are easier to navigate.

Pros

Basecamp is good for external use and working with multiple teams. Uploading content is very easy to do, which is great for collaboration.

Cons

The functionality and navigating of basecamp was a struggle to learn. It isn't the best to use within a single team.

Good project management tools, but confusing to implement

2018-03-07

I think there are better software solutions out there to organize and manage projects, like Workfront (paid) and Trello (free) and others.

Pros

I've used Basecamp with a couple of different projects I've ran with different marketing agencies. While the software is cool and easy to share items, it's got a clean interface and is pretty easy to keep track of things.

Cons

I hate the new Basecamp and how you have to enter your PIN to get in - it's not normal and what if I forget the PIN? I'm not as happy about how it's organized, as it's just a bunch of conversations and lists lumped together - not a truly great project management tool like Trello, etc.

Basecamp is an Extremely Intuitive and Effective for Project Management System for Advertisers

2018-11-07

Overall, I loved Basecamp. I already miss using this software and will have a difficult time converting to another software. Even though a new software might be more robust, this project management tool was sleek, well designed and extremely intuitive.

Pros

I've recently moved from using Basecamp and have now started to use Workfront as my main project management system and I sincerely miss Basecamp.

Cons

Basecamp lacks the financial depth that our advertising agency requires. Even though I've loved the software it doesn't do a great job of financial tracking, estimating and spending. We also found that the calendar view even in Basecamp 3, was not quite up to par. It would be ideal if this site could show you a calendar at a glance or a specific person's daily calendar. It's especially pertinent to be able to a designer's daily task list or calendar to ensure that the designer has the capacity for additional projects.
