Our overall experience with HOA Sites has been extremely statisfied. We have implemented a resident website that exceeds all the expectations of our board of directors and most importantly our residents! HOA Sites is by far the most featured and cost effective product compared to other competitors in there industry!
The two biggest advantages of HOA Sites is the annual cost and the breath of functionality available in the product. Additionally, it is a very easy to use product and flexible for an information technology person to customize. It is an extremely easy product for non-technical staff to use with the proper training. Our staff leverages this product daily to manage our resident website and communicate to our 974 neighborhood homes.
HOA Sites has tons of functionality. As an information technologist, I found it very easy to work with and customize. The downside of HOA Sites is it is a "Jack of all Trades, Master of None". What I mean by that is it provides the basic functionality of a given feature. For example, it does a great "basic" job at event registration, but does not handle any advanced features (e.g. Barcode check-in of tickets, Not able to select quantity of tickets for purchase other than setting up specific Registration Types, etc.).

Other than what I just wrote about least like, HOA Sites has been excellent to work with and the product is very rich with options. And online customer service is very quick.
Quick customer service. Attends to every detail an HOA needs in its website. Online customer service is quick. Lots of benefits for the cost.
When we make a suggestion it is only electronic and we never hear about whether or not the suggestion is being considered. We’ve made a few suggestions that would have very high value for us (so we assume others like us) and we don’t know if they are even being considered.

Found HOA sites when researching platforms for hosting a website for HOAs. There are lots of solutions out there to create websites but HOA sites specifically caters to these types of websites. I contacted them blindly over the internet and setup an initial call to discuss. I had pricing and details quick so I could present the idea to the association for approval. Up until this point we had been using free services on the internet with little control of privacy and information that was collected. We wanted a private website and community that did not collect information on our users. Once approved I setup an initial call to demo the service for the other board members and we all agreed this was the solution for us. We paid our initial hosting and setup and was given access to a portal to start building the solution. I was amazed at the onboarding process as it was very organized. There was a checklist I was guided through to provide pictures and make decisions on the layout, colors, and content types we wanted. Having a background in IT I had no problem getting everything setup and HOA Sites had configured most of the structure to the layout. Going through the step by step process I was quickly able to get an initial site built and ready to test. The rest of the configuration was very straight forward. The admin portal is geared for non technical people but also has advanced configuration. The ticket system is used when initially setting up the site and HOA Sites was very responsive during setup and after the fact they respond quick to requests. I am really happy with our decision to use this platform as the company is as solid as their product. If you are with an HOA and need to get your community online without the worry of using a free service that is scraping your users data take a look at HOA Sites as they have plans for just about every budget. You can build a solid website in short time.
There are many modules that you can enable in the software so you can create a basic community and keep adding new features. Compared to other content management platforms that exist, this is tailored specifically for HOA communities. The tools are very well documented for novice users but anyone with web or IT experience will have no issues setting up advanced features and customizing the site.
There really is not any negatives with this solution. Other than there are so many options and features you have to find out the core set of features you want to implement and then go from a starting foundation. Otherwise it could be overwhelming for someone getting started designing the initial sitemap.

Our experience has been phenomenal. Great product. Great support. Great cost.
I'm on two HOA Boards (home and vacation property). I liked HOA Sites so much at our vacation board, our home board voted to implement it there also. It is SO VERY EASY to configure and install. HOA Sites staff walks you through the implementation. It's easy to use, configure, and administer and the customer service is outstanding.
There isn't anything NOT to like about it.

Navigation was simple and intuitive. Menus help users find information quickly such as Home, About, News, Documents, Events, and Contact. Access to Documents: Important documents such as meeting minutes, financial reports, bylaws, and policies are easily accessible.
Would like some more options like billing and be able to schedule more sections.

So glad we found this solution! We really did not want to invent a wheel because we knew we would not get it exactly right the first time and adding/replacing spokes would be expensive. This software provided opinions we honestly had either not thought of or would not have implemented with a custom solution.
So totally customizable to fit a wide variety of needs. Easily changeable without custom ($$) programing and communication with data people who may or may not understand your goal the first time.
Not much, maybe a little scary at the beginning, but staff was so helpful in guiding us through and clarifying options

Excellent service, great interface. Couldn't be happier.
They have top-notch customer service. If the FAQs don't have the answer, their customer support folks will get back to me almost instantly - like 5 minutes or less. Very impressed with this group! And the website interface is well thought out. Takes a bit to climb the learning curve like any system, but they are always there to help.
Would like to be able to change the template without additional cost.

We undertook the project and got off to a slow start but the site as it is today is very robust and used a lot by our community. Best investment we ever made,
Site was easy to understand and had the content we were looking for to ensure the residents were up to date and informed. Pricing was outstanding - we did go out to a software firm with our spec and it was way north of $100K for initial build. HOA sites around $2K and great!
You must follow the structure but once you understand it Not an issue. So it is a Con for a short period of time.

It has been a great time learning HOA Sites and I'm looking forward to doing more with it!
I love the set up of the website and how easy it is to create one. The pricing is reasonable and it's very easy to change anything with the IT/Support team. They are great!
It can be a bit tricky trying to customize anything on your end because there's a steep learning curve of where everything is but after you get the hang of it, it gets better.

Overall the product allows my HOA to schedule reservations and events and facilitates the needed communication capabilities
I think the cost of the product is very reasonable and the product affords the user with the necessary features
The financial features are very restrictive and not user friendly and consequently we are not able to utilize the site for our financial reporting

My preference would be to talk through support needs. HOA Sites prefers a online chat function. Very workable though
