We have only used Jackrabbit software. We started at the Dad's Club in 2007 and started using Jackrabbit in late 2008. We have looked at other programs but none have compared to the schedule organization and value that we receive from Jackrabbit Swim.
We love using Jackrabbit Swim for multitude of reasons. It keeps our instructors, schedules, and family accounts organized. We run multiple programs through our software; children's and Adult swim lessons, clinics, lifeguarding, safety courses and summer league. We were excited to implement Jackrabbits new policy agreements, we have been able utilize and integrate different agreements for our individualized programs. The overall blanket policy agreement was not not working for us and now with multiple policies our clinics and Adult programs do not have to agree to our "Double Diaper Policy".
We have issues with double booking instructors, the ability to post credits to family accounts for a specific day (ie; Thursday classes were cancelled and we were unable to provide make-ups, so we had to post credits to all the Thursday families through each class) and there's no "Class Cancelled" button on the staff portal attendance with the option to set a make-up date and the class show in the portal for attendance.

I have used Jackrabbit Swim for over 10 years when I owned an indoor swim school facility. And now that I am returning to teaching private and semi-private lessons in backyard pools, I wouldn't run my business without Jackrabbit. They have always been intuitive to make changes as the swim school owners needed something to more easily run their business. They now have a tremendous staff who helped me Jump Start my business again with Jackrabbit so I could offer online registration for summer classes. My whole summer filled in less than 24 hrs. THANK YOU JACKRABBIT for helping me set up my classes and fix my glitches. It's smooth sailing from now on..... LOVE JR!!
I found Jackrabbit years ago before I even had an indoor swim school with two pools. I so wanted to offer online registration to my families and found Jackrabbit about two weeks before Summer registration. The owner helped me list all the dates, times, and locations of my summer pools. Registration was flawless. Then when I went indoors to my newly built swim school, it truly helped to already have this piece working effortlessly. After using it for over 10 yrs. I had a hiatus and came back to Jackrabbit. Love it!
There is NOTHING about this software that doesn't help me as the owner run my business well.

While Jackrabbit may not do all that I would like it to, this software provides most of what I want and need to run our business. The customer service is the best I've seen in that they respond to inquiries swiftly with answers or suggestions to my situation.
I first loved the ease of set up for our business. I was able to set up registration and approximately 100 classes in a matter of hours! The ease of use is fantastic. Their staff responded to all of my questions quickly and helped me to work around some issues that their software couldn't handle at the time I set everything up. Nowadays, I LOVE the prorating feature.
There are a few things I wish I could do with Jackrabbit Swim: 1. Sort daily schedules by instructor or skill level 2. Generate more customized reports for internal use 3. Maintain a history of instructors for classes 4. Be able to add a substitute instructor to the schedule when regular instructors are out

I’ve been very happy with JR in general, the customer service team is very responsive and overall a good value.
We love the ease of use for customer information tracking and scheduling of classes. The ability to see important stats on our dashboard and be able to pull varieties of reports is extremely helpful as a small business owner.
While we can individually or mass email customers- this is the area I wish would have an overhaul. We are unable to make “fancy” emails and feel very stuck in the early ages of email marketing. Also, my team can send emails from the staff portal, but they cannot access our template emails from there. Another small thing, but would help the efficiency of my instructors.

I like the staff portal! Super user friendly.
I don’t like how there’s not a calendar with all classes on it. On other softwares I’ve used, it was super easy to find a class simply by clicking on a calendar. You only get this view on jackrabbit when scheduling a makeup.

Jackrabbit took us from paper and pencil registration to the ease of online registration, automated billing, and electronic skills tracking. It was a game changer!!
We love that Jackrabbit is so progressive and responsive to user feedback and ideas. Over the past decade that we have been using it, we have seen the enhancements made allow us to run many of our practices from, registration, to skills tracking, to billing, far more efficiently.
I would love to see an option for improving waitlist notifications/enrollment to open classes!

We used Jackrabbit for ~3 months. It was far better than our old system (Vagaro), but the inability to put power in customers hands (regarding makeups, class drops, transfers, etc) caused us to switch to iClass. We're a few weeks in (JR acct is still active as we complete the annoying task of collecting credit cards), but iClass has suited us much better. They have a parent portal app, makeups are easy, and my only annoyance is having to toggle between 2 locations.
It was designed for kids sports and provides necessary functionality for maintaining our swim school, as opposed to other (less industry specific) software we've used in the past.
#1 flaw is its inability to allow customers to schedule makeup classes / lessons. This took hours of manual admin time weekly, and as a growing swim school, I can't imagine what that would have looked like had we not switched to a different system. Not only was the manual work tedious, but it made makeups "personal" - ie if there was no/limited availability, it made our staff look like the bad guys. Also, the system looks and feels outdated, and has too much functionality in my opinion. On top of that, I consider myself a tech-savvy person, and after months of using the billing features, I was still confused on how to issue/apply account credits.

I preferred the old list all families feature. The smart grids are overwhelming and slow me down. Los the ability to just start tying a name and have it pop up. I sometimes feel things are changed just for the sake of changing them and not really and upgrade just more required learning.

I like that it can be accessed anywhere and that the staff can have different log in levels for their specific roles. It is also nice to have the time clock and attendance features accessible through a specific staff portal.
My least favorite piece of this software is that it does not provide opportunities to build your own reports. It has several useful reports, but everyone's needs are different.

It's very user friendly, anyone can use it. We are able to manage thousands of customers, class schedules and multiple locations. JRC customer service is very helpful and responsive when we have issues.
We don't really have any complaints. Some reporting aspects are not as detailed as we would like but there is usually a way to figure out a way to get what we need.

I love the small details about students! The “new student” notification, allergy/medical awareness, and reminders about student birthdays as I’m preparing for the day and looking over my schedule is a nice personal touch that allows me to connect to each student as I see them!
I would love to see an option with attendance for the day that allows me to “select all” classes and mark them present. That way I can get the majority of my students marked in a click and only have to deselect one or two rather than going back and forth through managing classes and attendance for single student private lessons!

Overall, our staff has loved using Jackrabbit. The staff portal is easy to use, the payment processing takes time to figure out but once you do, it is easy to operate, and we normally have very little problems with the Parent Portal side of things.
We love that we can reach out and get a response and solution to any problem quickly. With more than 500 families that we are serving on any given day, it is super important to be able to troubleshoot fast.
No coupon code. We would love to have the option to offer a coupon code to families.

Overall, JR has been good and we are happy. That being said, there are certain features that we are very frustrated to not have available to us. These features listed above are nearly dealbreakers for us and we truly hope that JR can add them in the near future.
Customer support for initial setup was great. Every call we’ve had with customer support has been amazing.
There HAS to be a way to let a customer input a promo code to get a $ or % off their purchase. The balance owed during checkout should immediately be reflected based on the promo code input. The same goes for entering a gift card #. If a customer inputs a gift card #, the balance at checkout should immediately deduct that amount prior to payment being submitted.We are also desperate for a feature that will automatically inactivate/close out classes when other classes in the same time slot become booked. We have a max of 4 lanes in our pool but we offer 6 or 7 possible classes in each time slot. When a 4th class receives a booking, we need the other classes in that time slot to automatically be inactivated/closed out.

I’ve been using the software for over 2 years and I don’t it easy to navigate and figure tasks out. If I encounter a challenge, there is online support available and they are quick to respond and assist.
Class management is smooth and easy with Jack rabbit. Parents are able to create their account and find classes for the children, or the managers can quickly navigate the account creation and class assignment. Classes are then easy to manage with reporting of absences and make ups through the parent portal.
The platform is frequently evaluated and updated by the team at JR, so any challenges I’ve encountered are quickly addressed and positive changes implemented.

Originally used Jackrabbit and thought I would try another scheduling software...I was seduced by some Australian accents...about 3 days before going live, everything fell apart and I realized I could not use a company who took so long to respond to urgent questions. I was able to get everything up and running with Jackrabbit in those 3 days (and I was setting up approximately 500 classes/groups) and it all went off without a hitch!
I love that registrations are electronic...that you can access remotely...reports are easily generated...seamless transactions with credit card processor...super fast response time to questions or concerns about the software. Loving the prorating for tuition. We use the software for swim lessons and swim team.
The daily calendar of events does not allow for sorting by instructor or show students on a print out. We end up having to copy and paste into our own daily print out. Entering swim meet fees is time consuming as it must be done by loading each individual family.

I launched my business with JackRabbit from day 1 so it's been a critical piece of our growth in the first 6 months of operations. I appreciate that it's set up and customized for swim schools from the start and had some features that even helped give me ideas for how I want my operations to run.
I like that JackRabbit allows me to easily set up my class schedule, enroll students, manage them as they move from class to class and smoothly bill them each month. All the core functions of my business run through the system and it also helps me manage my staff time clock and creates an easy report for me to submit payroll hours every two weeks. The dashboards and to do lists also make it easy to keep track of things like student birthdays, new enrollment processing, etc.
The learning curve was a little challenging and I still struggle sometimes if I'm trying to customize something as there are often 2 or 3 different places to adjust certain settings, for example permissions that control what a staff member sees when they log on to the staff portal. The help content is good though and I receive quick responses if I need to reach out for further help.

We have over 800 students year round and the flexibility to open/close/move classes helps us build classes to meet immediate enrollment needs or current movement of existing swimmers. Weekly calendar is a great tool for a quick snap shot of what classes are open/full and where adjustments need to be made to help with movement.
We would like to be able to utilize the parent portal more for notes/updates to the customer. Currently they can only see their skills and level. We have to give personal updates or emails to give more specific details. The transaction page can get a little confusing sometimes when there are credits applied or changes made to linked transactions. We have made it a practice to put detailed notes in so we can track any changes easier.

The customer service is incredible! They pair you up with someone to help you start out and let you use all the features on a trial to see if you like it. The scheduling features and skills tracking sold it for me! Great software.
We have an extensive waitlist right now. Jackrabbit charges per student and it gets pricey. I don’t like this feature as much because it causes me to not use the online registration and have to frequently update my leads if a family doesn’t sign up. It also doesn’t save all their information once you put them into the lead file. I also wish we could set a time for registration to open. Not just a date. Our parents are crazy so we have to allow their access one at time.

I am so pleased. I've worked with other database management systems for membership based programming and JackRabbit is so much more efficient.
So easy to manage all aspects of business. Students, staff and finances. It's intuitive. I do love how responsive the development team is to new ideas and launching improvements.
The scheduling ability for staff that aren't assigned to a class. I wish there was a function for this. Would really love a more professional way to integrate our newsletter. Exporting email addresses into another product is bulky. Current functionality doesn't allow for the end product to look sleek and professional.

Everything is in one place. I can bill, schedule, see class history, print rosters, track skills and attendance, email and text families all in one place. I can quickly see a family's transaction and class history. I can mass post tuition fees and process batch credit cards which saves a lot of time.
I'm having a hard time figuring out the best way to post annual tuition fees when everybody has different start dates.

The set up of the software to streamline a business was easy. Scheduling, Registrations, Payments, emails, and the organization of this all in one place is what makes this such a great software. Not to mention great customer support.
It's easy to use for administrators and cliental.
I like everything about the software. I have not found a con thus far.

Overall good product and easy to use. Would recommend to others, but would also love to work with Jackrabbit to be able to customize a bit further.
It is user friendly and I appreciate the video tutorials in the help section. Much better than having to email someone and wait for a response, so they are thorough and cover almost every single topic you could be looking for. Parents have found the Parent/Portal easy to use as well.
There is some information I need to order to run each session that is not collected so I have to email participants to collect that necessary data (such as parent/guardian DOB is needed to enter them as members of the facility). Also I wish when pulling transactions to process payments, it would pull those that have paid already as well (and label them as paid) so I don't think I have missing payments....

Jackrabbit allows website registration and frees up office staff time, and they now have prorated fees, based on the number of lessons, rather than just a monthly fee.
Jackrabbit keeps growing and getting better. The development team comes out with new additions regularly, and their communication about it is excellent! The customer service is the best part of Jackrabbit. Answers are very timely morning, night and weekends! I've never experienced that before with a software company. They have many training videos and a help section with lots of answers as well. The software has lots of options of doing things YOUR way. There are many fabulous reports too.
It allows a teacher to be booked in more than once place at a time.
