Dealing with families: - no separate inputs for parent/guardian (let alone both parents) if student is a minor except under "Emergency Contacts" - cumbersome and inflexible mechanisms for grouping students under a family accounts and how family discounts are priced - no simple way of toggling a student between memberships without cancelling entirely - no way to list custom fields on members overview - no way to see on members overview screen which customers have credit card on file No integration with small receipt printer - huge waste of toner and paper when customers ask for receipt

Prior to using Martial Arts On Rails we operated a manual system and as a consequence we were losing track of payments, grading, etc. For our club to continue to grow and provide the type of service our students deserve we did some extensive research of automated systems and opted for Manonrails as we found it to be a feature rich system which not only manages the basics very well but also allows you to monitor trends and provides a variety of metrics on the clubs performance and tools to help you grow the club. The sytem was created and managed by CEO who himself is a Martial Artist and therefore uniquely understands the needs of a martial arts club. In the event of any issues or queries the responsiveness of their customer support is nothing short of exceptional, we are on a different time zone here in Europe but that has never been an issue. Maonrails has totally transformed how we manage our clubs and we would have no hesitation in recommending them!
Ease of day to day use...Does not need additional hardware (works off a smartphone, tablet, pc, etc).... Feature rich... Dashboard providing a snapshot of key metrics...
Nil - anytime we have identified a new feature that would benefit our club they have modified they system to add the desired feature.

There are little to no cons to Martial Arts on Rails. Even if there are bugs or questions contacting them will you get you a response very quickly and you'll be guided to a resolution.

- Super responsive and helpful customer service. Our questions/problems are usually resolved within a few hours of submitting a request. - Clean UI: easy for both us and our members to navigate the software. - Provides all the features you'd need to run your school: billing, belt/skills tracking, attendance tracking, etc. - Integrates with a variety of payment processors
There are a few random bugs here and there, but the support team is always on the ball fixing them once you bring it to their attention.

Great so far, customer supper is excellent!
Modern interface and features are good. Many automations available which is also great.
I find the main navigation and page navigation could be simplified and made a little better for the user experience - but still better than all other softwares! Some issues with setting up family-plan flat-rate pricing for limited class memberships.

Simple to set-up and use, provides commonly needed features, making it easy to communicate with students, handle memberships, take payments, waivers/contracts, track prospective students, as well as provides small details that software we used in the past have overlooked (ability to close your gym operations for a period of time, so you don't have to manually freeze each member)
the freezing of memberships is counterintuitive, and requires some workarounds

Fantastic really. We really jumped feet first when deciding to take over a gym with very little prior experience with back-end knowledge and this program really made it so much easier.
We love how Gymdesk makes life so much easier for our business. The overall look of the program is great and the functionality of it has exceeded our expectations. Customer service has been excellent to work with any time we run into a snag.
We would like to be able to schedule members in "spots" in class (like movie theater or plane seating) to incentivize early booking for classes. It would help us be better prepared and discourage last minute booking.

I like the customer service the most. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has been most helpful and promptly responded to any questions or concern that I have had. Beyond that, the breadth of capabilities of the software is really great and I discover new functionality of the software almost weekly.
There are very few cons with this software. There are little things that have come up here and there, but [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has resolved them quickly or helped us find a workaround.

Awesome software. Everyone finds it easy to use. No real complaints at all.
Easy to use, logical UI, helpful staff. It's very enjoyable, and leagues ahead of the others I tried.
Checking in history isn't saved.. I guess if you use the front desk app it might, but that's a whole load of overhead for us. Also seem to have 2 waivers being signed sometimes somehow, dunno how or why there are two 😄

I'm enjoying the experience. The software is making our business routine easier.
Attendance tracking: - Pros: you track everyone on the class that they belongs Punch Card: - Pros: We found a way to create a membership as "Punch Card" and it's working the remaining class pretty well. Check In Report: -We can see every student that checked in and their dates.
Attendance tracking: - Cons: Some teenagers are attending adults class and there's no way to track their attendance on adults class counting attendance for new stripe or promotion on their belts. Punch Card: - Cons: We can't take the expiration date for future charges. We have to select a date for the next payment even if the remaining classes are not done.

Gymdesk is a lifesaver. I am able to organize all of my work flow in one system. I love the membership renewal, the personalized website, the group text message marketing, the online store for selling our products, and so much more!! It’s definitely a must have for all gym owners. There are so any features to use. I love Gymdesk and will never change. They are truly the best!!

Our clientele doubled within the first four months of using this software. It’s has been absolutely amazing.
Easy to set up new students. Easy to find history of payments. It’s very organized and easy to navigate. I love that our members have access to their own profiles.
Setting up family memberships is the hardest thing but it’s not that bad.

Using Martial Arts on Rails has allowed us to combine three different platforms into one accessible and easy to use program. We are now able to navigate through any membership requirement within the same system and it has really helped our day to day business run smoothly.
This system is extremely user friendly and it has been a smooth transition from our previous software. Very easy to navigate through all our memberships and features.
We have not had any issues with this software that wasn't promptly addressed by customer service. We needed an option of entering multiple payment methods in membership accounts and the option was provided the next day.

I was in the market for a new gym membership and was looking at a bunch of different options. After researching a bunch of different options, I came across Gymdesk. The product is a mobile app that lets you book gym sessions, track your workouts and even bill your members. It also gives you a full reporting dashboard to keep an eye on your members' progress and progress.
I didn't observe any negative sides. I'm satisfying.

Can't say enough good things. Had a question when I was initially setting up on a Saturday evening and sent an email. I was surprised to have a reply within an hour. I was fully expecting a few business days.
Easy to use. Layout is great and does everything I was looking for without extra stuff that nobody uses. Very simply for members to use and very easy for initial setup by staff/ owner.
Hoped for an app.....but latest email I received said they will be rolling one out soon!

My experience was great. I ended up choosing another product, but it wasn't because of any defect in the product. MAOR is both advanced and simple at the same time. It has all the basic functionality you need to get started right away. I had my site basics set up in about 10 minutes, and within an hour I had my contracts all set up and ready to merge. If you're after a highly tweakable product, this may not be it, but if you want something that is easy to use, provides a good user experience, or, most importantly, if you're not a technical person - if you just want something easy to use so you can run your club/school, then definitely consider this offering. This product is so easy to use that anyone could use it. That being said, I had a lot of questions when I started using it, but mostly related to trying to get it to do things that it wasn't designed to do. The support from the developer was outstanding. After asking a few questions to understand what I was trying to do, most of the things I was asking about were met with a "yeah, no problem, we can add that". I'd have not hesitation in suggesting you check out this product.
The interface is sharp, and simple to navigate and find what you're looking for. Able to set up a trial account and poke around without first having to sit through a lengthy pitch. Developer responsiveness and support.
The interface isn't very customizable (the color scheme and icons). Also the options for layout are pretty static.

Great so far!
New gym owner here and doing it on my own. This app was recommended by another user and it has made my life so much easier. Super simple interface, incredibly supportive customer service, and flawless member experiences so far.
No complains so far. Maybe set the price point lower for less than 30 members to help brand new gyms reduce costs.

Great! Effective in exactly what we needed. the different channels in managing members helped up update from our old school system.
The options to manage each membership and edit the clients details accurately. Keeping pricing continuously updated and getting reminders on if we need to update.
I very much love this service, however we did need to update our wifi to have the best and easiest running time
