I don't know how I would have grown my business success without the Upper Hand software and their team!

Pros

Additionally, I love the messaging feature, as it allows me to send mass marketing e-mails and messages to our entire team of athletes, parents and coaches.

Cons

When I first purchased the Upper Hand software, this was one of the initial features included in the membership. I would love to see this feature included for all membership types.

Easy for customers, but lacks some bells and whistles

Overall our customers are having a much easier time using this software, and it's straightforward if you're doing straightforward things with it.

Pros

It looks great, and creating events is very easy.

Cons

Different things are managed in different places - to cancel a lesson you have to go to the contacts tab, to mess with a membership you have to go to the membership tab (can't do it from the contacts page), to see what people owe you have to go to reports.

Not really as described - Needs more work

Pros

Basically functionality of the system is strong and it was easy to set-up initial events. However, needed to create workarounds to define events like we wanted them set-up.

Cons

Major pain points included 1) inability to turn off accepting checks 2) generic waivers are built to primarily protect Upper Hand not the client 3) client invite process is cumbersome and add new client lists difficult to customize 4) emails and calls took days to get a response including the email to cancel.

1. You can now turn on/off check, cash and credit card payments based on your preferences.
2. We have custom waivers that you can bring in to the system for free.

The entire process has been easy from the initial request for information, to setting up our programs and events. Would definitely recommend their software!

Pros

The many programs we run, employee tracking, and in the near future, facility management. You aren't really limited to what you can do with this software.

Cons

The only downside is some of the small things that we aren’t able to customize ourselves, as far as special questions in the account creation process. Since they are always updating and coming up with ideas, I’m sure it will happen soon.

My overall experience has been the most frustrating thing I have ever encountered in the business world because of lack of training.

- Minimal phone support when have issues from lack of training - the calendar schedule events and the pos system does not talk to each other when paid from pos it doesn’t update calendar and shows unpaid even though was paid

UpperHand support has been outstanding. We are new to the system, but any questions we have had are quickly and easily answered by the support system here. I like that, even though we are new, I feel like we will get answers quickly to help us operate efficiently and provide that quality care to our customers.

Pros

It is nice that the calendar view helps us see and access sessions directly from that same view.

We then have to physically go in to each event and pay those out individually.

2. Simple event check-in drawer
3. Weekly calendar view and customizable calendar columns
4. Ability to "clone" events so that you can easily duplicate/edit existing events

In the weeks leading up to our opening and currently it has been problematic getting a quick response to emails and phone calls. Sometimes its very quick and other times it was 24-48 hours before a response came thru. This has been very frustrating as we have never used the software so we need answers quickly.

When something comes up, whether a customer has a problem using the software or I need help with something on our end, the customer support team has been very responsive and helpful.

Pros

It is super easy to send out marketing and information emails to all contact or select groups.

Cons

Some of the reporting could be enhanced.

The Support is 2nd to None!
