QuickBooks Online took top honors in GetApp’s latest Category Leaders ranking of accounting software. The ranking helps software buyers shorten their selection process by quickly comparing top-rated tools.
Intuit’s accounting tool for small and midsize businesses earned the highest score in GetApp’s 2019 annual ranking of the top 15 products in the cloud accounting software market across five categories: Reviews, Integrations, Mobile, Functionality, and Security.
QuickBooks Online earned a total score of 71 out of a possible 100, receiving a perfect score of 20 in the Mobile category. This helps explain the tool’s popularity: A survey by Clutch last year found that the younger a small-business owner is, the more likely they are to build a mobile app for their business. At GetApp, we expect apps with strong mobile scores to prevail in future rankings across categories.
QuickBooks Online offers a suite of double-entry accounting features for businesses of all sizes. Billing and invoicing, multi-currency support, expense tracking, and invoice management are a few of the features QuickBooks offers.
FreshBooks took the number two spot overall, with a total score of 65 out of a possible 100. FreshBooks specializes in providing billing features for small and midsize businesses (SMBs). Features include reporting and statistics, activity dashboards, financial analysis, and data imports/exports.
Netsuite Financial-Accounting, which took fifth place in the overall ranking, earned a score of 16 in the Security category-the highest of all 15 tools. Of the 15 products ranked in this edition of Category Leaders, 33% earned a score of 6 out of 20 in the Security Category, and an additional 33% earned a score of 4 out of 20.
The following products round out the top 5 overall. Each score reflects that product’s total across the five categories out of a possible 100:
Five criteria-reviews, integrations, mobile, functionality, and security- worth 20 points each are used to score GetApp’s Category Leaders, an annual ranking of software products across various markets.
These rankings help software buyers assess which products earn the highest rankings based on the criteria above. Then, users can use GetApp’s filters to find products that fit their budgets and company sizes, along with having the features they need.
