Great product with few flaws

Awesome analytics, great reporting tools and easily compatible with other third party vendors.

Pros

This software is great and the analytics are super powerful.

Cons

The only two con's (I have) are that: 1) there's not a "No Sale" report for people opening the cash register without a sale. 2) If you are a bar where more than one person touches a tab, the employee performance analytics are useless as it assigns the sale to the person who opened/closed the tab (not the person adding items to it).

Great team work in getting us setup from beginning to end

Great reporting and intuitive user interface for my employees.

Pros

Changes are easy to make and instantaneous. Reporting is great.

Cons

The software is stable but still has network outages every once in a while. Some could be local network, other could be BC servers. But still very stable overall

For example, if I have 4 steaks left, and it's used on two different menu items- there's no way to keep track of the count simultaneously.

The vast amount of time that it takes to train both front of the house as well as back of the house is so minimal. Most POS systems require hours of training and errors that can be extremely frustrating.

Pros

This Point of Sale system is one of the easiest ones I have used, almost zero training.

Cons

The ability to have sub items and remove from inventory better would be great.

Helps ease day-to-day of small Local Business

Our menu is extensive and fully customizable, and this software makes waiting tables a breeze!

Pros

-Overall customizability for modifications and personalization -Exceptional interactions and support from representatives throughout set-up and for occasional questions -Constantly improving dynamics and usability -Development of new features that make the program even more of a "one stop shop" (ie. processing, scheduling staff, inventory, accounting, menu management, etc.)

Cons

-Initial set-up cost was a little intimidating, however well worth it long term -Merchant pricing was a little difficult to understand, however our representatives walked us through everything -Would like to automatically receive one monthly summary/billing statement without having to "subscribe" to multiple reports

Pros

Ease of use, fast data loading, export of data, product mix reports, sales reports, payroll functionality

Cons

Duplicate accounts created when importing daily sales ledger into QuickBooks, data loading sometimes defaults back to "All" when selecting items or roles, system sometimes crashes on rare occasions

Frustrating Customer Service

I would not recommend this software to any hospitality company that wants to grow, expand or has any issues out of the ordinary.

Pros

User friendly for staff to learn Daily Reporting is useful and easy to access/understand

Cons

We had a HORRIBLE implementation team and incurred crippling issues for our first 2 months. The customer service team was mediocre at best at this time and we could never speak to the same person twice.

Pros

I love the useful reports that you can make, like find top 100 customers; which beer we sold the most on any one night.

Cons

When I want to try to keep tract of inventory of a beer, I might put in that we have 24 or 48 beers of a certain brand.

Streamlined reporting, a user-interface that allows us to operate with increased efficiency during peak times, and a customizable back end that we can easily tailor to suit the needs of a new business that needs constant change and evolution.

Pros

Running reports (labor, product mix, sales, etc) is a breeze.

Cons

Well, we had a special one day menu and when we implemented it, every single item on the menu had sales tax (previously were tax inclusive).

We love upserve. We installed it in our very first restaurant 3 years ago. We have recently changed over hardware and software at 3 additional restaurants that we consult in. The hardware, and service costs are excellent compared to competitors.

Pros

Adding buttons in real time at the point of sale is the best feature!

Cons

They keep adding to services to address any issues with both reporting needs!
