I am the Accounting/Payroll person for the restaurant. The Restaurant Admin reports provide the information required to complete my functions.
You need to be aware when you run reports by date range that the time is also set to the correct range.

It accommodates our particular restaurant, we aren't a sit down restaurant where a server takes your order at the table and this still works for us. The Cake customer service is always helpful and gets things resolved when needed. They also take your input, which is nice. It's pretty inexpensive but holds up to the standards or well known POS systems. I would highly recommend this system for any restaurant!

We love using our Mad Mobile Restaurant POS. It has made processing orders easy and seamless.
What I love most about this software is that it is super user friendly. We are able to constantly update our ever changing menu with ease. We can also access real time reports from anywhere and the customer service is outstanding.
There are no problems that I have encountered with this system.

CAKE makes all administration problems easy to solve
The CAKE team is always upgrading their software to better fit our needs. We find that we do not use all the system has to offer, only because certain aspects do not fit our small restaurant. But what we do use is perfect for us!!
IN the beginning some of the software aspects did fit our restaurant, as time went on that has changed.

Can't run a restaurant without it, Reports provide everything I need for payroll and taxes and accounting.
Screens are very well designed so easy to read, and intuitive to use. I like that I can drag items around to get them in order.
I can't figure out how to connect it myself. Even the local professional didn't do it correctly, leading to an outage one day.

I would not hesitate to use a CAKE POS again and recommend it to any size restaurant.
The CAKE system is so easy to use. Every employee was able to get comfortable with the system in a very short period of time with minimal training.
It would be great if register printer and kitchen printers all used the same paper.

Easy to access from any computer. Efficient reports that help on the restaurant administration and every day basis.
Cake provides another programs that would be very helpful but unfortunately they have a very high cost.

The software has great reporting features along with the ability to monitor activity offsite.
This software is designed for the restaurant industry. It is plug and play, utilization with no problems at all.

Great customer service, willing to hear out ideas, questions and concerns
Reporting is so important- hourly to annual. Great ways to track the business metrics. Great customer service for all questions or concerns, from set up, customization and all.
More detailed reporting (example coffee only sales being down price per plate when we integrated coffee shop and restaurant) would be helpful

You can contact me directly or follow the reddit thread regarding Cake POS. I have continued to update my experience with Cake POS and it is bad. Consistently poor experience at every turn and every new challenge of the restaurant.
It is a simple product but it is not for a table-service restaurant. Best for a simple counter service operation.
Customer service has been horrible. Bad attitudes, lack of help, and terrible at resolving issues.Tripled charged me for additional POS system.TERRIBLE installation strategy. Self-Installation with no assistance if it doesn't work. WHAT?Fabio blamed ME for the installation not working. It is a simple plug and play but what happens when that doesn't work. They shrug and say it is your fault. Wow. I've had much better experiences with LightSpeed/Upserve and SpotOn at my other restaurants.Avoid this at all costs.

Reports are very intuitive and provide helpful insights.
Cake POS is easy to use and maintain especially for a restaurant that modifies the menu often. Customer service has always been helpful.
One suggestion is to solicit feedback prior to making software changes - some of the changes have required work arounds for my restaurant usage model.

Cake has made starting my small restaurant of 1 employee, my husband and myself easy to maintain. We do not have to worry about reading handwriting, lost tickets, and so many other things that can go wrong with human errors. The main reason I chose the Cake system is because of the built in online ordering system. I do not have to pay a 3rd party for this feature, it has been flawless and a very important part of our business. The record keeping and report system saves so much time, the system sends reports to my accountant daily and monthly I just set it up and forget it. Time sheets, sales tax reports, so much more I could write a book. Overall the Cake system has been wonderful for us we just hit our one year make of opening this restaurant and we keep growing.
The POS register is easy to use my husband is not in the 21st century when is comes to technology, he is the only person that runs the register and inputs orders.
Nothing I can think of right now, there are a couple little features I would like but they are more for convenience for my restaurant.

I love that we can change menus on the fly and have it be a seamless transition from our office to the restaurant.
I like the ability to see total sales on everything and being able to customize my reports based on just about anything I want.
I would like to be able to see reports beyond 100 days. Being able to compare current performance to previous years is vital for me as a business owner. Not having that option limits the usability for myself.

Great for a small restaurant that only does dine-ins and carryout.. This software is completely wrong for you if you provide a delivery service
Falsely claims to be functional for a delivery business.. Our business is being held back by this software and we are locked into a multiple year contract.. Not one change we've needed has been made on their part

Updates keep getting better, making this system better each time. Able to access data directly through a terminal or on-line.
Too many functions not available catering to restaurant management. For example, inability to re-activate a seasonal employee; inability to pull sales reports by day-part.

Being new to the restaurant business, I researched many POS options and feel as though I couldn't have made a better choice. Thank you Cake!
Love the extensive reports, ease of use for employees of all ages, ability to search for an item, ability to remotely access the Menu Admin and all Admin aspects of the system. Customer support has been perfect every time we've needed a question answered.
Reports being limited to 100 days, but pretty sure that will soon change.

Really loved having Cake in our restaurant and for decisions out of my pay grade, we had to remove it. I wish we still used it!

It is an overall help. Easy setup to time saving for the waitstaff and easy reading for the kitchen staff.
It has worked well for our small bar and restaurant. We love the order pad, it saves the waitstaff so much time and they can connect with more customers.
The set up to start was alot, menu building, modifiers, and learning everything. But cake university was a great help. Was well worth the time

New employees catch on rather easily. It does not do everything but it does run a lot of reports that you can get to daily with ease. Customer support will walk you thru most issues you come across in a very reasonable time
I wish you could do everything remotely. When your a small restaurant you don't always want to give servers ability to get deep into system. Close out reports, tip function

Great customer service. Online ordering has helped get customers in and out of the restaurant quickly. This has helped keep crowding to a minimum and helps everyone feel a little safer.
The only thing I'd like to see differently is customers being able to pay for online orders with their gift cards.

If you are small to medium size restaurant, you may consider this. Modifiers and features need improvement, so if you don't use plenty of these, you may consider CAKE.
Available for mobile and regular POS. Online ordering included. Pricing with hardware and software only. Plenty features.
Needs a lot of improvement such as integrations etc. Online base, I doubt if they have offline redundancy.

If you own small restaurant, you may consider this POS. But they are newbie from retail POS. So if you dont require to many modifier, this is good.
Cheap. You can use your own payment getaway, your own devices and it is pretty easy to setup. Good user interface so it is easy to train someone.
Lack of integration and API. Needs improvement for some features. I doubt that it is designed for large environment.

User friendly, and excellent technical and customer support. Lightspeed has lot of options for formatting the POS, which is an asset to any restaurant.
Using the restaurant version, there are a few limitations. First, there is limited to no inventory management. As well, there is no way to have a negatively priced product (for example if someone returns something)

This product, although still new, is getting better and better! The support team is always willing to help answer any questions and get anything you need done and as priority. The interface is easy to use, it is just different from other pos systems so there is a learning curve. So many cool updates just came out and I can't wait to use it when my seasonal restaurant is open again! Really great product and I love that you can suspend your service charges with them during the off season!
I wish there was a 2 POS payment option. my restaurant is small but one POS isn't enough! I think I will upgrade to the 3 ipad package but it would be nice to have a 2 ipad option!

We need better support system in the week end. We need a app to view from the menu. We will have to use browser to login into restaurant manager. As a owner, we need to simple app to check the sales summary for each location in the app.
Easy to use with many features. We have been using this software since the inception. We are happy with software.
There are few limitations to use it but it's getting fixed one by one. We have only POS system. We are looking complete solutions for the restaurant to track the sales and expenses.

We are very happy using lightspeed at both of our restaurants. In the past, when we have a problem, lightspeed has been able to suggest a work around until the problem is addressed with an update.
Cloud based means we can access POS while away from the restaurant. Easy to use and minimal training required for new staff. New features are added on a regular basis. Customer service is reliable and available.
We are unable to use our Lightspeed without an internet connection. Unable to unfinalize receipts after 7 days.

Purchased this software for our first restaurant. Both owners are first time users of PoS for restaurants, but the learning curve was very short. The system is built in a user friendly manner, users with little experience with tech or in PoS systems will not feel overwhelmed. Customer support is always helpful, patient and courteous.
Could have preferred initial training to be done in person rather than remotely. Sometimes, functionalities aren't 100% obvious (getting the cash register to open automatically for example), so at first, it seemed like we called Customer Support for a lot of non-issues

Having worked in the industry for 8 years, i have experienced different POS's systems. LightSpeed really offers a easy to use and user friendly platform, which makes working in high paced environments efficient. Also there customer service is really responsive, which is very useful in the restaurant industry. Strongly recommend.
-Ease of use -No matter the restaurant type, multiple layouts possible -Very aesthetic
-Better reporting, but they are very aware and working on resolving these issues.

It is easy to use and set up. I can make modifications from my phone or the computer. I can check reporting easily and quickly.
The set up of the tables for the restaurant. There wasn't many choices and when you have more than one room it can be difficult.
