excellent reporting and inventory control
It is extremely easy to use with functionality that works for my type of business and probably any retail business
Other than not being able to create a non-stock item code with a negative cost and retail amount, but I have been able to use 2 methods suggested by Retail Edge that works for my application

Retail Edge has been a great system for our stores.
We like the simplicity and cost effectiveness of Retail Edge. It is also very robust. We have never lost a transaction over the past years.
The report interface is not the best. We end up exporting our raw data and using other reporting software.

The technical support team has been amazing and is always eager to help! They even find problems before you do. Everyone I have come in...
Retail Edge is so easy to use! The checkout process is straightforward and hard to make a mistake. The integration with Shopify is great for my business because I have the same inventory instore and online. The reporting is amazing to help analyze my business. The gift cards Retail Edge offers are nice to offer to customers and easy to use when checking out. The purchase order section is great for retail because you can easily see what hasn't come in and what you should cancel. I also like that the Retail Edge team is constantly updating the software and staying up to date so you don't have to. I have used most features that Retail Edge offers and I love most of them!
I love so much about this software but if I had to change anything it would be to make the security feature easier to use. I want to be able to lock the sales manager so employees can not see how much money is made, which you can do, but every time I lock it, I mess something else up. Also, one thing I have run into with the online integration is when people buy gift cards in store and want to use them online and vice versa. If there was some way to make gift cards able to use both instore and online, that would be awesome! So, just making those things easier would be so helpful and make this software perfect for my business!

Great customer service. Easy to use functions. I like the retail island, I can check my sales remotely.
When looking up a customer, if the customer isn't in the system you need to start over again. ie; What is your name...my name is Philips...you look up Philips and he's not there...it should then say do you want to make Philips a customer, rather than making us retype Philips...which is an easy last name .

Tracks inventory, adjustable min max counts, creates PO's, tracks last cost, average cost, sales, everything you need for retail sales
When a sale is saved the list only has the customer ID number and not the customer name, not a big deal

Great support services. Always eager to help and knowledge staff.
Was able to import 120000 items from my old inventory to the new Retail Edge system. Daily sale quick and easy.
Would like to have 2 open sales screens at one time while customers make up their minds on what they want.

Retail Edge is an easy software program to teach our sales staff on for the cash register, regardless of their computer skills.
The rounding function can be hard to get to an exact number when receiving the purchase orders. It can also be challenging knowing which is the best report to select.

It ties together all aspects of our retail shop from inventory to customer service in utilizing the customer data base by keeping track of sales. We have never had any issues with the software failing us and whenever we have had any issues, customer service at Retail Edge has been prompt and helpful and always gets ua through any issues,

Depth of data; real time data.
Retail Edge provides excellent communication between back-of-house preparation and store-front pricing. The ability to customize labels, SKUs, and clerk screens are essential.
I'd like to see reports as downloadable files instead of pdfs. Otherwise, it has been a useful and worthwhile investment.

I can track my stock, issue Gift Certificates...thinking about it, we have 2 locations and we don't utilize a way to be able to track gift certificate sales over both registers. It would be nice to be able to accept our other location's GCs without having to go in and adjust the sales later. I don't know if that can be done or not.
I like the interface between Retail Edge and my credit card system. I don't have to enter the amount twice, which prevents errors in charge amounts.
When an old record is deleted, sometimes you can't re-use the stock number or it warns of a duplicate entry. If I deleted it, it shouldn't be there at all!

the customer support team was amazing, we suffered from a computer crash and the the team helped us get back up and running very quickly
We like the ease of adding inventory and products into the system which is the longest process of any system but retail edge made this quick.
the only thing we wish we could do would be to modify or have the ability to change invoice numbers

We can track customer history, product sales and see trends in the paddlesports industry.
Customer Support is incredible, when you call in you get real people who understand the product and can solve your problem in a few minutes or less. The new Android Dashboard so I can stay in tough with my store sales.
When Microsoft does its updates there are often small issues that crop up and make something in Retail Edge malfunction. But the good news is that Customer Support is awesome!
