We have a lot of modifications and Toast has been helping use to get the POS system we envision.

Pros

Easy of data reporting and management.

Cons

Still many features only available at certain levels. Can't have both online ordering and pre-order. Controlling where online orders print in house. Force printing needed information.

Pros

Toast is our third & last POS & we love it.

Cons

The credit card processing fee is a bit high but it is NOT costing us more than before; I had just hoped to save a few dollars in this area.

Good system, great interface for employees.

Pros

Hand-helds very easy to use and speed up ordering

Cons

Other POS systems allow you to swipe a Credit card once, and it logs the #'s for payment and manes the tab using the card holders' info.

I would suggest this POS over any other I've worked with (Micros and Aloha).

Pros

Toast is an easy to use POS system. Managers and servers are easily trained on all functions.

Cons

Some flawed features that they need to get fixed. Inventory needs more checks and balances to make it more efficient.

Why I chose Toast

I sat down with a computer tech to figure out the best POS system for my business.

Pros

If my call isn't answered right away or I get busy, they have the feature to leave your number and they will call you back ASAP.

Cons

Credit Card Processing Fees - With other Processing companies out there some are cheaper but overall with Toast, they win.

Easy to learn if you have prior computer and POS experience.

Ease of back end work making menus...reporting etc .

Cons

Not many cons that I can think of...have to reset register tablet fairly often due to unresponsive touch screen.

More beginning training...I was able to understand the system fairly quickly but I have an IT background. I know of another business who implemented toast and were very frustrated with the lack of training as far as making the menu. My advice would be to not focus so much on attempting to make the "starter menu" for the client but rather use the time to show them how to make their own menu from scratch. There are different little quirks about how every restaurant prices their menu, and while toast does extremely well in allowing for those, where they are lacking is making the customer comfortable in making those changes.

Pros

Support is very responsive and they listen to what the customer wants.

Cons

Really about the only complaint is that you have to use their credit card processor, I loved the one I had previously but haven't been upset with the Toast one just wish I had the flexibility.

Toast is a full-service POS that works for our three very different restaurant concepts, including a high volume bar, a deli counter and market, and a fine dining, multi-course dining establishment.

Pros

Toast seems to be the most put-together of the next wave restaurant POS. They offer a few styles of terminals for greater flexibility in the unique spaces that are restaurants.

Cons

The ability to pull up custom reports and analyses are their weakest feature. Toast can also have very occasional connectivity issues which is scary in a restaurant setting.

Modern POS system with functional features

Peace of mind, modern and easy to use especially with staff who is accustomed to cloud based software.

Pros

I enjoy the easy access without fussiness, it allows for customizable features that work for our restaurant, it makes updating menu items/labor simple instead of a headache that it was on other POS systems. I think the ease of functionality lies in their cloud based system that allows you to run credit cards even when offline.

Cons

There are some sluggish features within the software, however Toast happily accepts feature requests and has fulfilled a few of mine!
