A very nice and easy way to connect to my companies VPN

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

-I like Cisco AnyConnect's small footprint. it only uses the screen real estate that is needed. -It provides multiple VPNs for me to connect to. If the east coast VPN is down, I can try the west cost VPN. - it shows me the my ip address which is a nice feature - it has a drop down of local wireless and wired networks that I can use to connect to the VPN, along with the signal strenght of each wireless network which is very handy. - It just works, I never really have any problems getting onto my VPN which is the most important featur in my book

Cons

- it kicks me off after 24 hours, I'm not sure if this is cisco limitation, or a company restriction, but it would be nice if i could stay connected forever. -rarely despite entering all the correct credentials i still can't access the VPN, but I think this is a company issue instead of a cisco issue

Automatic setup makes for a smooth user experience

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

On the user side, the user-experience is extremely simple: once the client is installed, just enter the VPN server's URL, a username, and a password. Details are saved so that subsequent connections are even simpler, only having to type the password. This is in contrast with configuration steps for other VPN software that I had to deal with in the past: getting the right port, picking the security protocol, entering a "shared secret", etc. Several pages of instruction are replaced by just a few words. Connection is fast, and I haven't noticed any effect on bandwidth.

Cons

The AnyConnect client must be installed on all devices that will connect, which could be an issue if some platforms are not supported. However, all mainstream devices have an easy-to-use client. This ease of use comes at the price of a software license (paid by the service administrators, not the users). When Open Source solutions such as OpenVPN are available, this could be a major drawback.

Easy and Fast VPN

Reviewed 6 months ago

Cisco AnyConnect has been a stable VPN solution for our organization. We use multiple instances of the software and it works very well for us currently.

Pros

Easy to setup and use. Quick VPN Connections. VPN speed is acceptable. Multi platform support is a big plus. Connection is always stable.

Cons

Location select option is not available. Pricing is higher than the competition. Disconnections happen when multiple users connect.

The application that brings office network to my home and allows me work at home

Reviewed 3 years ago

What is to be expected from a VPN application? That it must have low delay and high bandwidth. That's pretty much it, no configuration or customization or UI is neccesary. The user needs a simple button and that's it and that's what AnyConnect offers just fine. I connect to company network to use our GPU Server even when I am at home and I don't feel any delay or lag at all. It does the job just great.

Pros

It provides low ping, high bandwidth, very simple yet job doer user interface with simple and single connect button. These are all I need.

Cons

There's nothing I dislike, it does the job just fine. There's something I had trouble with but it's about the other application rather than AnyConnect. When I used MS Office applications with AnyConnect, Excel sheets often crashed.

Cisco AnyConnect is an excellent VPN product

Reviewed a year ago

AnyConnect has been critical to success in remote work over the past year especially. This has given us the flexibility to offer remote work options for employees to maintain productivity levels regardless of where they are.

Pros

Configuration is easy with an Active Directory network. We have created a VPN group that users can be placed in who need access to this tool so it is very easy to manage and maintain.

Cons

Cisco is almost always the most expensive solution, but they are best in class, so it's part of the gig. I wish it weren't necessarily that way, but nevertheless if I have to pick something I don't like, it's that.

Good VPN agent

Reviewed 5 months ago

I have been using Cisco AnyConnect for quite some time. I have never had any technical issue with it, so I recommend it if your organization already has the licenses.

Pros

I like about Cisco AnyConnect its ease of implementation. The software has several modules including the VPN agent which I mostly use. Connecting is easy and fast.

Cons

The worst aspect of this application is its license prices. While most VPN tools are either free or extremely cheap, Cisco AnyConnect is quite expensive. It does offer more feature than a simple VPN, but still, the overall cost is high.

Cisco AnyConncet is a secure VPN

Reviewed 3 years ago

Used it as a student at Clemson to connect to our EduRoam connection from off-campus locations which is necessary to assess many university resources (like the shared drive or software stored on the campus network)

Pros

The VPN is a really small program, not intensive on the computer and runs fairly seamlessly in the background. The VPN connection is pretty stable too, the customer service is decent too

Cons

Any small disruption in the network can throw off the VPN, which cancels downloads and such. As I understand the subscription is fairly expensive too

Reliable security with VPN to company network

Reviewed 8 months ago

Very good. We were leery to switch to a system like this for extra security protection because we thought it would come with a time consumption cost, but were pleasantly surprised that it did not.

Pros

Ease of use. Two clicks, your company password, and Defender password from your phone and you are in! Two step security for protection, but also very convenient.

Cons

Sometimes if you delay the Defender password too long, you will have to request a new one, but that really isn't this software's fault.

reliable, flexible, supportive software for VPN access

Reviewed 2 years ago

My rate is high for Cisco AnyConnect since it was very helpful for at least our department at the company. In case, you have a medium budget, you want to have a great success on VPN solution or access, Cisco Anyconnect will a good choice for you. Probably, new start-up companies will use this software in close future.

Pros

1) The level of security on the software was very reliable. A user can easily connect to cooperation network without any concern on endpoint security. It does not matter which device you use, the software provides an effective data privacy and security. 2) The design and usability is very user-friendly since you start on the software, features and tools do not make you feel confused or lost. A person can start to enjoy many important functionalities of the software after watching some basic tutorial videos. 3) One of the features on this software was the very effective integration ability of the software. We did not have any problem to integrate to your customer relations and sales database which was the counterback of our company.

Cons

1) Prior to my experience, I had sometimes problem with the connection of the software. However, another annoying point was that the software did not reconnect after the break points in connection. 2) Small size companies may have a problem concerned with buying a license since it is not that much cheap in comparison with alternative software on the same features and options.

Expensive but worth it

Reviewed 3 years ago

The software works well. The best experience with it is if you are running a full Cisco shop with all of their products and services as that will make the large "x"s go away but the VPN functionality is unaffected by that and works very well.

Pros

The software works very well. Like any managed VPN service, you set up and endpoint and allow your clients access via username and password. Once set up, the software works very well and we haven't had a problem with it.

Cons

Other Cisco features like their endpoint security and NAC services are built into the anyconnect software. When it doesn't see a NAC on the network, for example, it will show a big red X even if the VPN is working as intended. It is also pricey to implement due to the Cisco tax.
