Pros

Its nice VPN tool to access your office network when you are working remotely. I would say its a good tool for for business who want to improve security.
The antivirus is strong and picks up the majority of threats. The free version is great to have for those persons who are looking to save costs.
It allows us to connect to our secure environments to access private resources without being forced to push our assets public that need to be protected. Overall a great product.

Pros

Sophos is a great antivirus defense for mac users, I recommend everyone getting it install, it is constantly in the background working and is the best defense that I have used.
I have been a Sophos customer since 1997, but I check and compare them every couple of years. The price for what you get is great and the features you get are first class and award winning.
We switched to Sophos recently and overall have been super happy with the change. We get notifications of issues.

Cons

Sometimes it fails to connect and there's very little information about what went wrong, to me as a user.
Sometimes when you disconnect your VPN connection, there is a delay or lag in the process. Also when you connect sometimes the transmission fails or takes a long time to connect with the host network.
The client has no tools that would assist you with identifying routing problems when a VPN connection has been established.

Cons

Sophos can be a little bit of a memory hog. On some devices we notice a slow down that does cause some complaints.
Server protection too asks for reboot when the app gets updated , which is a bit itchy feature.
Setting up users in the admin portal can also be tedious. If you don't add every user in the same way it can be difficult to keep user data as far as what you can see in the user interface.

Forticlient Review

Very good. VPN is quick and stable. Has endpoint security and protection.

Pros

Easy to use and download. Light weight application which helps in connecting to remote systems and there are anti virus scans too.

Cons

The application will not prevent the computers going to sleep mode. If it does not connect we do not have detailed error messages. May be they can improve in this aspect.

Great Endpoint Protection with best VPN client

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall good endpoint protector and good VPN client that can easily integrate with two step verification third party tools.

Pros

Even inbuilt web filter came across with great categories. It will help me to understand, what are the unsecured web sites and unwanted content web sites. And also it will help to band websites over the lab computer environment. And also VPN client easily configured with the two step verification methods.

Cons

Several times my computer activate sleep mode and after trying to connect VPN client some time can't connect until machine restart.

A Robust Enpoint Protection Platform with VPN

Reviewed 3 years ago

We required a endpoint protection platform with vpn client for securing are remote clients. Forticlient was selected and it has been very successful decision for enhancing our security and eliminating risks.

Pros

Forti Client is a very robust Endpoint Protection Platform, providing security and prevention of vulnerability violations, by utilizing features such as, Endpoint control, Security fabric integration, behavioral based analysis. It protects against zero day attacks, shields web browsers, detects memory attack techniques such as ROP, Buffer over flow, Heap Spray.

Cons

When ever a update comes along, it has to be manually installed, does not have an auto update feature of its own as per my understanding and knowledge. (definitions are auto updated regularly.)

The Fortinet Firewalls work incredibly well however the VPN client needs some attention.

Reviewed 5 years ago

Keeps malware out and protects my company's network with top endpoint security. Allows easy access to my company's network even out of the office.

Pros

When it comes to phishing and malicious URL detection, FortiClient is hands down the software recommended for the job. Basic setup of the firewall is easy and intuitive but you can also take full advantage of the FortiClient's webfilter, antivirus and the application sensor modules. I switched to Fortinet from Cisco and iv'e never been happier.

Cons

Unfortunately i do sometimes have issues with the FortiClient VPN. It's quiet buggy and often requires reboots to reconnect sometimes.

The Perfect Lightweight Endpoint Solution

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, I am very happy with my usage of Forticlient. It does exactly what I need our endpoint solution to do, without weighing my users' computers down. As an added bonus, the included VPN works perfectly with my Fortigate firewalls.

Pros

I like that it keeps nefarious actors and services off of my computers, and administers system updates to them as well. This works consistently, and rarely needs any intervention.

Cons

Adding new computers is a little cumbersome, as they must first be added to the correct domain OU, then the domain must be refreshed in the Forticlient admin centre.

Next-gen Antimalware Tool

Reviewed 7 months ago

As long as you are using it with the Endpoint Management Server, I think it's pretty tough to beat as far as configuration options go. I've manually tested FortiClient with samples from Malware Bazaar, Hybrid Analysis, and a couple other sites, and it has blocked everything that I've thrown at it.

Pros

The ability to integrate the AV Sandbox into FortiClient was a big deal for me. This allows us to use all the standard antimalware features from FortiClient, plus the sandboxing for any previously unknown threats.

Cons

The process to update FortiClient on all of our endpoints has gotten a little more manual with the past could versions. Previously you could push out batch updates from the Endpoint Management Server, but now I have to manually install updates on all of out endpoints.

Great endpoint security

Reviewed 3 years ago

We've been using forticlient as our endpoint security in our office, it's been working just great. It detects infected files and quarantines them , their antivirus database is very up to date and get updated to your workstation automatically. This is a great security application and it works even better if you link it to the fortinet fortigate firewall. Some of our users use the VPN functionality to access certain devices on the network securely when they're outside of the office.

Pros

It's free. You get the free features like antivirus, website filter, spam blocker etc. You can unlock its full features if you link it to your fortinet fortigate firewall. You also have the option to establish a VPN from the endpoint to your network through the fortigate firewall.

Cons

No automatic application updates, you need to download and install a the application when a new version is released. The AV database does get updated automatically so no issues there.

FortiClient review

Reviewed 4 years ago

One of the main business problems has solved for us in our company using FortiClient is that any time we can rely on the VPN for quick connections and get into the server is assist out client whenever in need. We have solved support tickets much faster after using FortiClient.

Pros

I have been using FortiClient for over 6 months for accessing one of my clients' hosted servers, mainly for updating our Application on their server so they can get the up to date features to utilize our BI tool. FortiClient has some many features such as; Endpoint protection with two-factor authentication I can sign on to remotely access the server, Secondly, FortiClient has a file browser window to find for any location of the file, File transfers, chat window and much more. Third, FortiClient offers a system scan of local pc to look for any threats that might hijack the server, but mostly FortiClient shows me possible exploits before infecting file and registries. Lastly, VPN logging provides a detail report of who accessed the server and the information of the user.

Cons

I guess nothing that comes to mind of any negative review in my case using FortiClient.
