Deployment of Android Devices

We are able to track out tablets remotely.

Pros

I like that the program has an easy to use web interface that allows me to geolocate all of our tablets in the wild and send out announcements to them. I like that I can remote lock the devices and change the passcodes remotely.

Cons

I d not like that remote access is an add on cost on top of the crazy high price of the yearly licence this came as a shock and was not communicated when we signed the contract. I am also not a fan of their support team that seems to never understand my questions and instead of offering support keeps sending back my email with a request for unrelated information. This even happens with sales.

ME MDM gets the job done at an unbeatable price

Pros

The low cost of entry is the best I found out there. We primarily use our MDM to put devices in multi-app kiosk mode. ME MDM provides us with everything we need in an MDM at an unbeatable price! And, here's a story about my experience with ManageEngine's top-notch technical support .... At first launch of the MDM, we discovered the app wasn't 100% compatible with our devices, because they were running a non-updatable older Android OS (ver 4.4.2). ME immediately went to work to figure out the problem. After about one month of testing and tweaking, their app developers delivered a fix and the app's successive version have all worked perfectly since. They truly put the customer first!

Cons

Honestly, I have no complaints about this app. But, to be fair, we're light users of the app...we only use it's geo-tracking and kiosk mode features. So, we've never put every feature of the app to the test. There may be a downside out there somewhere, but I haven't found one yet.

Excelente Solution, Value for Money and Very Good Tech Support

I would summarize my experience in a few words "Smooth and seamless Operation". The enrolment was easy to handle, especially when there is a good number of devices. Training for other users was very easy, and today an administrative employee manages the basic features and enrolment. The solution has been stable throughout the time of service.

Pros

Great good features that most MDM/EMM solutions have, excellent web-based managing consoles, good customer support very easily reachable by chat, everything at a convenient price.

Cons

Reports have space for improvement. Even though it provides good pre-configured reports, many times flexible and SQL-like interaction is valued by IT Managers. This becomes relevant during this age of data analysis and data mining to improve the enterprise mobility operation of the organization.

Good for the price but a bit of a pain to set up.

I would recommend this product. For the price, it has some really good features. I have only been using it for 30 days but it seems to work very well. I have deployed the MDM software on Apple and Android devices so far. I have not tested the laptop device management.

Pros

The application management feature on this device is very nice. Once you have all the profiles/apps setup for a group it is very easy to deploy.

Cons

Walkthroughs are a bit lacking. Videos are very segmented and use speach to text instead of having a live narrator. It makes me wonder about customer support if they're not willing to invest in proper walkthrough videos on their products. I chose to use the cloud management option, and it seems to work pretty well.

Regarding the MDM...

Overall positive and we will likely end up using this product if the cost of renewal is reasonable.

Pros

1) Does not rely on access to an internal server, which greatly improves our ability to manage the devices. 2) Reactionary geofencing is powerful for devices that should not be roaming 3) Multiple App Versions of a single app would allow for easier testing access 4) Naturally provides KB articles for suggested fixes when an issue is encountered 5) Allows for out-of-the-box setups for VPN configurations than our current solution

Cons

1)Requires a user be assigned to each device (Can be done on enrollment). Nearly 1000 of our devices are assigned to our individual stores nationally, not any single user. We will have to create dummy users for each store location and tie the devices to them. 2) A user can wipe any additional information loaded to a device, such as asset tag # etc. by resetting all content and settings on their own...

I like that our users can have the apps they need sent to them remotely without using personal Apple Ids- Easily transfer devices between users with out getting locked out by personal Apple sign in,

Cons

Sometimes it takes a day for changes to catch up to the device- offline devices have to wait until passcode unlocked for profile changes to update.

We are trying to be compliant with GDPR and an MDM is essential. I had trialled many systems and ME so far came on the top from functions to cost and support.

Pros

I signed up for the free trial before I committed myself. I really love the functions of this application it suits my organisation in everyway. The most useful function is the Fence Repository.

Cons

The difference in hours between me and support sometime it took longer to get help.

An excellent MDM solution to get you up and running in no time!

Overall a great product for our business in order to have greater control of our devices. Good pricing too.

Pros

Very easy to enrol devices so that was handy. Really enjoyed the ease of remote access too as it was fast. Deployment of apps silently or deploying to the store for the user to download was also very good. The location tracking too was very insightful too.

Cons

I think the user interface could be a bit nicer and pleasant to look at. It could also be a bit clearer on how to manage your devices as you do have to switch from tab to tab at times. It is also a bit annoying that you have to fully reset a device and enrol in order to have full control of a device however I did find with most MDM’s I’ve tested, this is the same.

Fine MDM to use

It was pretty positive when it worked and offered more than we needed.

Pros

It has a lot of features for the price. Amazing options available that you have to pay a lot more for from other vendors for example containerizing is something that was great to find on it since most do not have it. Kiosk mode, works with all major platforms, black and white list options auditing reports and asset management were all options we liked.

Cons

It did not consistently push software out to users and it was cluttered for the interface.

Pros

Ease of use and cost of deployment. We use Jamf for our iPad deployments, and it's really a gold star standard but can't handle Android or windows devices, and frankly, cost what it's worth. Manage Engine is cheaper, with just as must customization.

Cons

It may be not quite as intuitive but customer support is super responsive in helping working out the issues.

The overall experience ha been satisfactory, works well with samsung devices with android version 5

We operate in a country where mobile data is prices are on the high side and we provide tablets to health workers fro disease surveillance and reporting, however without MDM we had issues with users misusing the data sent to the tablets. As soon as we introduced MDM plus on the device we were able to stop data misuse by staff and resulted i us abling to reliably estimate data cost to run the devices in the field.

Pros

Very good solution for samsung devices, works seamlessly with these devices and takes away the pain of setting up devices from scratch. You just need to give the device internet access and enroll and sit back and relax. the support is also good for the product, I normally get any issue resolved within an hour.

Cons

Working with other android devices can be painful at times. Features that are available for samsung devices are not available for other android devices so you are kind of limited to device selection if you want to benefit from the full package.

Affordable Cloud-based MDM solution

For the most part, MEMDM delivers. I'm looking forward to continuing development of the Cloud-based product. I'm hoping the reporting and staging.

Pros

We just recently upgraded about 100 devices, and the fact that you can set groups, policies, and push content and apps to the devices automatically reduced 80% of the migration time, where it would have taken weeks to complete this task without an MDM. The Geofencing and location tracking is also a bonus.

Cons

The lack of information in the staging process is a downfall. You can have 20 of the same hardware staged, with no information such as S/N or IMEI to identify the staged hardware. The MDM doesn't pick up any of this information until a user is assigned, which truly defeats the purpose of the staging process. At the very least, the hardware information should be recorded. The It's a guessing game when you have multiples of the same device. It's counter-intuitive and counter-productive.

quick to setup, low learning curve

Pros

has some neat features, like remote view/control. the app distribution feature is really nice to have, especially with the ability to blacklist certain apps. enrolling and provisioning devices is straightforward once you get the profile and groups setup updates to device profiles are pushed to devices, you don't have to wait for the device to check in

Cons

the deprovision of devices is a little confusing. android device support is limited compared to iOS. some features are only available to iOS even though the same features are available to android in other MDM software, like adding a WPA/WPA2 Enterprise WiFi profile

Pros

From an end user point, it is so much easier to get devices enrolled in ManageEngine MDM.

Cons

Currently there is no option to have profiles automatically updated to all enrolled devices, you either have to add the devices to group and update the group, or manually update each handset individually.

ManageEngine MEM Trial Review - Progressing to live rollout

We are still in the trial phase of the implementation but moving now to full implementation. A little difficult to get setup initially but first time self setting up an MDM. We reviewed three other solutions but have found this to be the best fit in terms of features, functions and price. Looking like a great product against significantly more expensive solutions for the same level of functionality.

Pros

Clean simple user interface. The actual MDM platform is easy to use. Love the remote device support feature, makes life much easier to support end users.

Cons

It takes a while to get devices enrolled if going for Device Owned deployments. But that appears to be the same issues with any of the MDM solutions on the market. A bit more complex to setup Apple devices again if you want these enrolled as Device Owned, but think this is more of a limitation with Apple products and the new Apple Business Manager account/app.

Cons

troubleshooting enrollment problems is not easy, but the staff makes every effort to help.

Hits the right notes

We were impressed with the wide platforms with worked with and the functionality. All with a great price point. I think it represents good value for money.

Pros

It has strong functionality and yet is user friendly enough to allow us to exploit the functionality. We were also impressed with its ability to work with some older operating systems. In transport we could not always expect the devices to be state of the art.

Cons

Some of it is a little clunky we had some issues with registration but for all its functionality we were able to persevere and overcome the teething challenges.

Mostly I like patch management. and auto-update all software.

Cons

Pretty hard to get in, too many features, not could be more user-friendly. You need 2 weeks only to get out how to work main functions.

Good Product

We have been able to lock tablets to the applications that the drivers in our fleet are allowed use. Remote management and support for 200+ users with one manager. The learning curve at the beginning was a little slow, but now it is working great.

Pros

Fully functional device management software. Fair price with good support and response time.

Cons

Mobile Device Management Desktop navigation is confusing and slow.

Great Features

I use Android tablets in our trucks so the devices are all in remote locations most of the time. I was using G Suite and GoTo Assist to manage them. G Suite is worthless for managing devices. There is no way to identify the device records in G Suite because there is no unique identifier that actually correlates to the the physical device... the device serial number in G Suite is a random number generated by G Suite not the actual serial number of the device and G Suite will not pick up the device name. GoTo assist is too expensive and requires extra steps from the user. This app solves both problems.

Pros

I live the ability to apply profiles, deploy apps, and remote control control the devices easily. Remote control is much better and cheaper than GoTo Assist!

Cons

I wish it could apply a template for app shortcuts and widgets on the Home page (Andoid) and set App permissions. There is a bit of a learning curve and some complex setup steps (i.e. Apps for Work using G Suite) but this is understandable given the functionality provided and not a huge problem.

Mobile data utilisation for our field staff devices, that is cutting down company's operational cost as our region cost of data package is little high. Centralized controll on devices to restrict the devices including the apps.

Pros

Sync process and speed of sync. Easiness of device enrolment. Policy creation and roll out procedures

Cons

Sometime, app whitelisting is taking little more time, also enrolment QR code is not working for the option "ANdroid 9.0 or later

One single tool for all my needs of a MDM for good price.

Pros

It fits all our purposes. It is flexible by providing different enrollment Methods and supports all current available OS. The System is very user friendly. Cool reporting. The support is very willing to help and are reacting on every call very fast. Princing is good!

Cons

It´s not working good with all Browsers. On my Android I can login but not use the profile details for example. With MS Edge I always have to reload some sides. To connect the AD is possible, but very complicated. On a phone call with the support Team they said that the ZeroTouch enrollment is not working. So the Question is why it´s there visible.

Full featured desktop management at a very reasonable price

Pros

It's very full featured compared to much of the competition, and handles more categories of product (OS, etc) than more specialized products. The patching functionality is comprehensive and really streamlines updating a diverse bunch of software.

Cons

The only issue I had really was that deployment of the agent on remote desktops (off network) does require some manual action, but I don't honestly see too many ways around that.
